Finally I made it worked. I spent lots of time of configuring. I will try to open the app in other wifi, we'll see if it will work. Thanks for the info. Appreciated.
Kennygg88 Hi. Setup for second camera is the same. Each camera would have it's own unique IP address. If you allows the router to automatically assign the camera an IP address, then there is nothing for you to worry about. If you plan to manually give it an IP address, you have to give each camera a unique IP.
Ernie Cuison Hi. If the P is priced the same as W, then get the P. If you plan to use a video recorder, or non-Foscam apps to view, then get the W if the P cost more.
In your opinion in all your reviews thus far what is your favorite option as a baby monitor between the different foscam and drop cam models ?PS thank you for the video's you do they are awesome
NICOLE SWACKHAMER I made a video comparing Foscam and Dropcam. Too much to compare so I just compared some features. ua-cam.com/video/GH3dg1wfPFoH/v-deo.htmlard to recommend things these days because most people want HD. The camera is really in use when my child is sleeping in the bed, so the room is dark. I wouldn't go out of my way to get HD. HD night vision isn't that much better then non-HD night vision but it cost $40 more. In my son's room, I use Foscam. In my daughter's room, I use D-Link. In the living room, I use Dropcam. Dropcam doesn't have a 1/4" tripod thread so mounting isn't easy in my child's room unless I poke holes in the wall. With the way I use Foscam and D-Link, they are similar in quality (when comparing newer models). I use 3rd party software instead of Foscam software or D-Link software. If I were to use their software, then it would be D-Link. D-Link's software is more polished. I think many parents (including myself) wouldn't pick D-Link at first because of the higher price. We know D-Link would be easier to setup and administer but we would rather take a chance with Foscam and save some money. For Foscam, I like FI8910W and gift it to friends who are expecting a child. For HD units, FI9821P is good and you can often find it for under $100.
So if cost is not an issue and.My concerns are field of view, least amount of lag and image quality should I go with the hd over the ten. Dropcam pro is 200 these units are 65/90 it seems like a big price difference but I read foscams website and Amazon reviews and there customer service if you have issues seems less than desirable
NICOLE SWACKHAMER Lag can be the fault of my home internet or my mobile device. Dropcam has improved their field of view but at $200, I want sharper image quality. Foscam and D-Link have similar image quality. Neither of these two would automatically adjust video resolution if bandwidth drops. Dropcam can do that though. If my friend nearby asked for a camera, I would get him Foscam. He lives close enough that I can help him set it up. If my friend in California wants a camera, I would hook him up with D-Link. I've helped a lot of people in California with setting up Foscam but not all were successful. The stories they tell me of what they had to go through with their ISP is unreal (fees on things my ISP does for free). So for my cousin, I'll get him D-Link and not worry about it. I like Dropcam a lot. I just think it's overkill for monitoring a baby in a crib.
Gotcha so the foscam hd has better image quality I think I'll go with that one, thanks... Not to worried on instal since the hubby is a network engineer lol. I guess even if it's terrible if I buy it on Amazon I'll have an easier time returning it if it has any issues
please help I have the same camera...followed the same steps. Connected my WIFI and as soon as i unplug the network cable to run off WIFI doesn't work. The IP address page doesn't even load. What am i doing wrong?? I have the app on my phone as well and it tries to connect then times out.
Thanks for the video. I purchased a returned Foscam and got it setup locally, both LAN and WIFI. However, when I try to add the camera to IOS app, I get the following error message: "Device (has) already been added to another Foscam account, please delete device on that account first." I have tried resetting the device using the pin button on the bottom of the device, but that doesn't seem to work. Any way of "unlocking" Foscams or deleting them from a previous account without knowing the account owner/information? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and help.
Hi. Did you check the bit rate and frame rate on the actual recordings? Mine records at 1/3 of the configured fps, so if I say 30fps, the recordings are always 10fps, whether recorded by the camera on its SD or by Synology Surveillance Station. The bit rate also tends to be around 1/4 to 1/3 of the configured rate. I checked the firmware and apparently it had a 2014 firmware, upgraded it to the latest one, no change. Thx.
+Kris M Hi. I didn't check the bitrate. I know it fluctuates because the 3rd party viewer app I use monitors it in real time. At night, it is definitely not 30 fps. I get higher fps when the room is well lit.
For people having the same issue and wanting to know more: I did some tests and the camera lowers its fps to up to 1/3 of the configured one if there is low lighting. IR mode seems always to be "low lighting". The CCD controller or the firmware chooses to lengthen exposure time per frame to get more light. The good: you get decent color depth under low light conditions. The bad: objects or people moving even slowly become extremely blurred.
yu zhou Hi, I made a video here about it. I demonstrated with No-ip DDNS. After I released the video, Foscam issued free DDNS for their customers. ua-cam.com/video/iHTxuYa3Kzo/v-deo.html

Nice video pal, just got mine and set up.. the new app i am using at the mo as it has the best pic, bit slow to reconnect but if you close the app and start again it seems to solve it.. will try the ftp setting for motion tomoz see how that is.. do you know how to set up with email ??? Thanks again with the vid, foscam should put this vid in with cam to set up lol ;-)
hi thanks for the video. i have F1982P. My husband is able to view the vedio from his Iphone. But i am not able to view it from my android. what to do?..pls suggest
+Sudeshna Bhattacharya Hi, it's not really a new version. Rather, it's a different version. The blue one is for their cloud service and is an interface to their myfoscam.com. I suspect the one you're husband has is Foscam Viewer (free, grey background, red FOSCAM text). Load that one to your phone. You can add the camera by scanning the QR code at the bottom of your FI9816P.
I bought the livecams by eggman company and until now it can't connect to my cam, trying to contact the tech support but seems impossible to catch them and understand their instructions. I tried foscam us still not working. Any help? John
Before going over livecams parameters, are you able to view the camera from a web browser? What is the URL you're using? This impacts what information goes into livecams
AwkwardHamster Hello, it's the same app. The connection works fine but I cannot control the camera's movement. Any idea what the issue might be? Have you faced something similar so far? Many thanks!
When I can't control the movement, it's because I logged in with a userID that is part of the visitor group. Only admin and operator can move the camera. Try creating another login ID and give it operator rights.
+gp62902 plug in the power, reset the camera by taking a paperclip and pressing the reset button at the bottom of the unit for 45 sec, wait for camera to boot up then right click on the white part of ip camera tool and flush arp buffer, right click on white part in ip camera tool and select refresh
My cam doesn’t want to show the video. When you login it prompts for the plug-ins and I follow the instructions and I come back to the login screen and it still wants me to download the plug-ins. Any help?
Foscam has not been keeping up with their plugins. Their IE plugin is very outdated and Chrome plugin became not compatible with newer versions of Chrome. I would recommend using IP camera apps. There free ones in the app stores. There are also free apps in smartphone app stores.

hi i want to buy this camera for a business to put in the aria cash would saver problems you find with the camera and if I set it up in my house and just take it ready to plug the camra work or settings must be in the same business.
Walter Julca You can set up the user ID, motion detection, video resolution, just about everything except for Wifi. If your wifi at home has different SSID and security as your business, it wouldn't be easy adding the connection information at home because you won't be able to test it until you reach the business. You can set up everything else then add the new Wifi info when you have reached the business.
AwkwardHamster I reset the camera if I can do a clean install, my question if you already intale previously elsewhere and now I want istalarlo in a new place, with reset enough or have problems.
Hi Walter. Let's say the new place has a router and an network cable to plug in your camera, you don't need to reset. You can plug the network cable to the camera to access for setup. This would be easier because it'll retain the configurations and all you need to do is add the new Wifi info.
Is both your computer and camera connected to the same router? If your camera is connected to router1 but computer is connected to the modem/router2 (router1 is plugged into router2) that would not work.
Hey Awkward do you have a video on how to install foscam fi9826p with livecams pro app? It's frustrating man, this app sucks. There is no clear instructions with it. It's kinda goofy app.
I typically use Livecams Pro for audio. Found their audio to be louder. With Foscam Viewer, the audio is there but at a lower volume. On computer, IE works OK. On a Mac, I use IP Camera Viewer (Free).
Thanks for this! I've never used a Mac, and work threw me to the wolves to get these cams setup. This video was a huge help!

What Foscam is good for Baby Monitor? Can my family not living in my home see my Foscam at the same time I am when I get one?
Hi thanks for this. This was really helpful. Just one thing how do I add another camera to the setup? I bought 2 of these.
Kennygg88

It sounds like you're using the Foscam Cloud service? You can try e-mailing them asking them to move the camera to your account.
Nice video, thanks. What app are you using for IOS?
I used Foscam's free app. Though the app is still free, Foscam has released another free app and want people to switch.

Hi,
Great vid, thanks! Could you please make a vid showing control of PTZ over iPhone/iPad?
It doesn't seem to work for me on either device. Thanks!
blad3sing3r Hi. The app I demonstrated in this video is the Foscam Viewer. Are you using the same one or a different app??

thank you

I couldn't use the camera when im in vacation?
