Just as a suggestion. Next time you weld on cracks on aluminum, a cool trick is to drill a hole at the very end of the crack before welding the entire crack up. This is to ensure that the crack will no longer come back over time. This trick also goes well with fiberglass repair. Cheers 😆
The same trick works to stop a crack from spreading on a piece of glass , just don't drill rite through it .
This is good advice with just about any material that cracks and is repaired
I've done thin plate steel that way like the stamped seat on a tractor that had stress fractures. It stopped it from cracking.

That's what we used to do in the Air Force to temporary fix aircraft panels. We called it stop drilling.

Funny how many of youtuber car creators, doesnt take these kind of detail in consideration. My best guess is due to being real life mechanica, this doesnt create value.
M539 restaurations is a hobbyist, and all he touches have to be in order and spotless..
I wanted to comment the same, the frame looks better but the hole car is quite full of traces of the accident, maybe not so important…
For next time, to get a perfect color match to Ferrari frame or the color they spray at the factory on the inside of panels use SEM trim black.

nice job ben to get the hoist level take the cover off the side of the hoist that has the cable in it the end of the cable will be threaded when the hoist is all the way down the cable will be loose just tighten the nut on the cable till the slack goes lift to see if it is level cheers from down under

Argon is the best Gas when welding Aluminum and I found aluminum is is easy to weld with a flat, smooth bead. The welds you made don't look bad but it looks like with the black streaks @ the weld maybe wrong gas or not enough flow and turning down the wire feed may help also to flatten the weld.

I always imagined fixing something like this would involve 3D scanning and custom CNC machining new pieces. Nah... it's just welding and banging things back into shape with a hammer :D

I got to think that your pops has got to be proud of you having your own shop, your channel and having the amazing skills you have at a young age. Repairs on the 599 are excellent, like it never happened. Aftermarket cooling for that thing, probably the route to go.
