I got the clone wars starter box 2 years ago and haven't managed to do anything with it since annoyingly. Always good to have this type of video available for the people coming into the hobby who didn't start with Warhammer. 👍
The hole reson why i got star wars legion and star wars armada is because of you i use your strategys i use your buyers guide and i also learnd how to play from you i promise on my life this is true
I've been part of the miniature gaming scene for 20+ years and you've provided one of the clearest and most conscise beginner videos I've seen. Kudos to you for your continuous championing of this amazing hobby. That Hoth Luke is amazing, gl to everyone entering the prize draw... but I really want to win so no-one else enter or I'll set my Probe Droid on you. :P Great stuff again Senior Crabby, you got another game for us soon? Love & light as always.
I shared this with my little sister because she wants to get into the game after seeing me play. It's both clear and informative and we both appreciate it a lot so thanks!
Thanks for this one, I actually bought the first starter set and some add-ons a few year back, but sold everything without even playing one game due to lack of interest in my area. Now I signed up at a dutch Legion FB Group and finally know some places where to play. Difficult decision now is, will I go for the 2nd set or the 1st one. As a 50y old nerd, I think I still prefer the "old" trilogy timeframe.
I used to go to sci-fi city frequently back when it had the huge warehouse building! Live in Gainesville now, but look forward to going again next time I am in town!
I started playing Legion a few weeks ago, and that is due to your channel. I was born in 77. Started watching early and started really understanding around 82. Love your channel very informative, keep posting and creating great content. Thank you for getting me into Legion as I am a HUGE FAN 😄👍
Came over from building 40K. I was lured in by the sexy alternating activations and growing up with Star Wars. It was nice to listen to a refresher on mini building though!
I like your tip about gluing 2 smaller pieces together while one is still on the sprue, I have been assembling models for quite a while and had never thought of that.
I wish I watched this before assembling Clan Wren. Gluing the helmets together on the sprue would have been so much easier. Also, that Luke looks pretty sweet 👀
Awesome video! One thing you forgot to mention! When cutting pieces out of the sprue, I don’t butt the nippers right up to the piece. I leave like a cm or two of space. When you butt the nippers right to the plastic you can make stress marks. (Where the plastic changes color or shape)
I use an emery board/nail file to clean up mold lines. Can be easier (and less destructive) than using a knife. I then brush on hobby glue (like a tamiya glue that comes with a brush) over the top. It will melt and smooth the area (as filing may make the surface a bit rough). Then ready to paint over the top.
Only tip I would give is with the arms you may want to wait til after you paint the miniatures as can be hard to paint weapons and arms when glued into place on some, not all miniatures but some can be hard to paint when glued
Wow there's a special version of another Luke? I started my X-wing collection thanks to your videos and I'm trying to expand my collection into Legion as well. Thanks again for your awsome video. :)
For attaching hard plastic minis to the bases I've found that good old-fashioned Testor's tube cement works best. It's much thicker and provides a great bond, and unlike Super glue it's a permanent bond. Another thing I've been doing to attack minis to based is using the Vallejo (and other brands) texture paste. I put my layer of texture paste on the base (cleaning the edges) and then press the assembled mini into position. Once dried the paste holds the mini in place, though it's not as strong a bond. If the mini ppops off, just superglue it back in place. The key advantage of this is that it makes the mini look like it's a part of the base and not floating above the ground.
I'm so glad I found out about this game! I've always been huge Star Wars fan and really wanted a good Miniatures game hobby to get into. I started with the CW set since the TV show was my childhood and I LOVE IT!!!!
Great guide to assembly. Thank you! I wish I had this when I started playing towards the end of last year. I didn't know about the plastic cement for the harder plastics.
If I would have known this when I began I would’ve saved a lot unnecessary stress, thx so much for making this vid! I figure every new player who sees this will be put on the right track, great vid!!!
Wish this video had come out a year ago when I started Legion, some great advice in here for new players to the game so listen to Crabbok kids, do your homework and assemble them minis! 😆🤣😆
I've learned with alot of the minis to glue the arms to the body then the gun since the spacing of the hands can lead to problems. Then last is the head since you can the figure how you want to pose them. For example my troop leaders since they point I have some that look towards where they point but others look away like they're looking at the rest of the troop telling them where to go.
Wish I had seen this video when I first got into Legion…the tip about using superglue instead of cement for bases is important! I had several cemented minis break off their bases originally. When I superglued them back on after painting them, they were sturdy, but I had unseemly globs of superglue that interfered with decorating the bases at the end of the process. If I’d done it at the start, I could’ve at least primed over the glue globs, or maybe mitigated them better. Live and learn! I will be showing this vid to my friend who just got into Legion, maybe he can avoid some of my beginner mistakes!
Awesome video, I have the core set with Darth Vader still wrapped, would love to add the Luke giveaway to it. You are truly an inspiration. Thanks for the video
Great beginners guide to Legion miniatures. I already knew about most of this, having been doing miniatures for some time now, however I've been recently getting into Legion and your "What to buy first for..." were super helpful for me when I started Legion, I thank you for those and keep up the good work.
I am a big fan of trimming an emery board for "sanding" parts. If you are going to do this do not use sewing scissors to cut an emery board (The missus was so mad). Luke came out while I was on deployment never saw him for sale, it is awesome that you have giveaway support like this! Next time I am down for a Disney trip I will have to check them out!
I didn't even know hoth luke was a thing! Been looming at legion fro. The sidelines for a while a recently got a core box so this is helpful! Just have to find some friends to play with now!
I thought you were saying that you got that Hoth Luke from FLGS or Lando. I thought good on Calrissian for branching out! Great video! I've just gotten into Legion. I've not played yet as I'm still building and painting. But your comments in the different plastic types and the best glues to use on them will help me going forward
Crabbok! Love your channel! Just got into Legion and Armada to play with my son. I play as Rebels and that Luke would go great in the collection not gonna lie...
Great video, I have been building models for decades and your explanations are spot on. I have the Imperial Assault minis and I was surprised how soft the plastics were. I have been working with GW plastics for a while so to work withthe FF plastic was a surprise.
The Hoth luke is so awesome, would love to have one, loving the videos as always, it can be a very daunting thing opening a big core box full of plastic sprue’s, when your new it can be really tough to know how to start so well done because with think it will really help people, hopefully the people that don’t already subscribe to you will be drawn to your channel because of videos like this, keep up the good work
Bought my clone wars starters last year and still have not been able to assemble them lol. I hope I have time this summer, this video came at a great time.
Hey! I'm a new employee at FLGS I just got into it about a week ago and we are having a tournament on the 19th (I think) and im kinda scared if you're gonna play LOL but make no mistake I WILL GO OUT SWINGING! Thanks for the shout out by the way :)
I appreciate that you have been circling back to beginner videos a few years later - some of us are late to the party!

It’s helpful to note that there’s that document that goes more into detail on how to assemble the clone wars core set
I’m brand spanking new to this game! Your videos are making this game less overwhelming. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Came over from building 40K. I was lured in by the sexy alternating activations and growing up with Star Wars. It was nice to listen to a refresher on mini building though!
That Hoth Luke is really nice. Got mine off of eBay a while ago. Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to use him yet.
I like your tip about gluing 2 smaller pieces together while one is still on the sprue, I have been assembling models for quite a while and had never thought of that.
Playing my first official game of legion today at my LGS. Looking forward to see what double AT-ST can do.
I wish I watched this before assembling Clan Wren. Gluing the helmets together on the sprue would have been so much easier.
Also, that Luke looks pretty sweet 👀
I’ve never considered using the back of the exacto knife. Great tip!

Love that luke mini, so fun with a landspeeder
i am getting into legion, today i got my first boxes and am building them. and i am building empire. glad you are teaching this for people
It's nice to see some videos aimed at beginners, thanks! And that Luke is pretty awesome.
Only tip I would give is with the arms you may want to wait til after you paint the miniatures as can be hard to paint weapons and arms when glued into place on some, not all miniatures but some can be hard to paint when glued
Oh please! I would really like to get Hoth Luke. Favorite scene where he puts down the AT-AT! Just great
As a beginner, this was very helpful

I haven't assembled grievous correctly, glad to see him be assembled without problem.
Wish this video had come out a year ago when I started Legion, some great advice in here for new players to the game so listen to Crabbok kids, do your homework and assemble them minis! 😆🤣😆
I'm glad to see someone doing a video like this.
Woah Luke! Didnt think there would be any of these left anywhere!
Yes!!! Luke Skywalker!! Thank you so much for this video. I was dying when I started assembling Grievous!
Hoth Luke looks so good! Keep up the good work mate :)
Great video for newbies. I’ll just add try to visualize how the pieces go before glueing them, if it helps add them without glue first.
Great video and description. Wish it had been available two years ago when I first got started. Awesome tutorial.
That Hoth Luke is really nice.

I just started with legion and this really helped
Great guide. I'm looking into buying my first set, and it's nice to know what to expect.
As a new player you've been so helpful with the game as well as making it so enjoyable to get into!
Great video, been collecting since lockdown. Glue types and plastic types really useful. Thanks. Cool Luke model.

Just got into legion and have been loving it so far👍👍
Awesome video, I have the core set with Darth Vader still wrapped, would love to add the Luke giveaway to it. You are truly an inspiration. Thanks for the video
I would love to try pushing some of my painting skills with that Luke model
My friends and I actually just started getting into legion, we haven't finished putting our minis together yet so this is great

Love that Luke!
Thank you for all your reviews, they really help to get this game to the table.
If you're doing these beginner style videos, do you plan on doing anything about basic terrain building?
Shared to the newbies in my group chat, thanks for the excellent video!
Your content has helped me get into legion. Now having so much fun. Keep up the great content
Love the video! I have been wanting to get into Legion, but I do enjoy all of the videos.
this is helpful to what I will need to watch for as a new player
I'm not exactly a beginner to Legion or mini/model building but, this video is really great and I completely agree with all that you are saying!
This is the kind of video that the manufacturer should put out.
Great video, I have been building models for decades and your explanations are spot on. I have the Imperial Assault minis and I was surprised how soft the plastics were. I have been working with GW plastics for a while so to work withthe FF plastic was a surprise.
That is a great giveaway. I have almost pulled the trigger several times on that hoth luke.

Love this guide, I just recently got into miniatures and this is exactly what I needed.
Hey! I'm a new employee at FLGS I just got into it about a week ago and we are having a tournament on the 19th (I think) and im kinda scared if you're gonna play LOL but make no mistake I WILL GO OUT SWINGING! Thanks for the shout out by the way :)
The Army Painter sprue cutter is also a good choice and about $10 cheaper than Citadel's. I have Tamiya's. Keep producing great videos!
Great how to get started and build video!
As a new player, this video is extremely helpful. Great content! The Hoth Luke looks super cool as well.
Best version of luke from the best star wars film ;). Great videos👍
