One of the better aspects about the Star Wars universe was the attention to detail with regard to personal items. I liked the fact that despite the futuristic settings, you still had ground troops humping huge packs. No matter how advanced things get, for the military, some things will never change.
PAULDRON - that shoulder pad is called a pauldron. They only had white and orange in the first movie. Also the colours of clothing was because they used bolts of fabric for the uniforms and capes and pants on different characters. This was to save money on buying and making expensive clothing that would only be used once in each movie. Have you noticed how their clothes were never the same from movie to movie? Any way I could go on about this all day but we all have better things to do. Thank you once again for sharing. This was good to see that there are others out there with talent that don't mind sharing it. I too use those same brushes. And while I'm here - you and one other guy on UA-cam are the ONLY ones that I've ever heard pronounce Ban Dai properly! Thank you again.
I just heard about Star Wars Legion and I'm excited to get into it! I've always been a fan of the battlefront games and this looks like that but a board game!
I wish I could paint so smoothly like this still. I developed a rare nerve issue in my 20's and now heading into the 50's I cant paint or draw/write for more than 20 second without my arms tremmoring/spasming, which has made painting a real rough challenge. Dont get old! Cause it sucks ass. I have so many models I want to paint well, but look like a toddler did them because I cant keep my dam hand steady.
My brother and I grew up collecting and plane the old Star Wars miniature game where the minis came prepainted oh God I hope we still have those somewhere we both are really into minutes or painting now and I think this would be so cool to get into
I was thinking of starting Star Wars Legion but I was worried that it'd be like Warhammer and I'd have to put together every little thing but now that I know its just a few parts I think I'm going to start the hobby, so thanks for making this very relaxing video!!!
I did my Legion lightsabers with Vallejo Metal Color paints alternating between duraluminum and steel, then a couple of highlight stripes of chrome. In top of that I glazed some fluorescent paints from Vallejo until I got the color I wanted.
i have a question: So, if you paint.. i have experienced with painting other stuff that you might 'slip' with the brush and there's black in places where it doesnt belong.... how do you correct that without making a mess out of it... acrylic paint is sometimes difficult to correct i think
Should of used neon style paint for the Sabers. More of a glowing pop to give them that uniqueness. Can't really complain 1000x better paint work than what my fat fingers can achieve 🤗
Justin Colucci good question. I’ve always painted after assembly because I like seeing the model in its entirety while I paint it. Just a personal preference, I guess. It’s not always the safer/easier approach. If a model has a spots I KNOW I won’t be able to reach after assembly, I will paint first, assemble afterwards.
I'm going to go against the flow here. If you search Wookiepedia for Pauldron you'll definitely see a picture of the padding on a Stormtroopers shoulder. However, a Pauldron is, specifically, a component of plate armour, larger than a spaulder. This doesn't fit then description because a Stormtroopers shoulder pad isnt made of plate. I'm just going to refer to it as a shoulder pad. It's non-functional.
It is a shame they made the figures bigger as I have WOTC imperial assault and other smaller scale stuff . Where the new ones look good and I would have added some of them the scale means I won't be
Crazy to go back 3 years and see how much the channel has evolved
Its honestly crazy to be here in 2024 and this channel has changed dramatically. Super cool to see
man its crazy how far youve come in just a few years. love your videos

This was so chill and relaxing to watch, are you planning to do more like this?
Hayden Marshall Thank you! Yes, I plan to start making many videos like this going forward!
This was so satisfying to watch. Loved it!
Your content has improved so much in the last 4 years. Well done!
Just wanna say this is one of the most skilled people ever!
It’s amazing how much more confident you sound now, it’s really awesome 👏🏻

I think Vader’s box thing you were talking about is called his ventilator
Also, the shoulder thing on the stormtrooper is called a pauldron
I’ve been watching your videos for a while and am glad you have a Star Wars legion video
it is called a shoulder pauldran
Such a simple way to paint them, but looks so good, well done.
Seeing as you're from Denver, I wonder how you're always so chill ;)
Loving the content, binge watch activated.
I did my Legion lightsabers with Vallejo Metal Color paints alternating between duraluminum and steel, then a couple of highlight stripes of chrome. In top of that I glazed some fluorescent paints from Vallejo until I got the color I wanted.
For Vader's lightsaber I recommended painting the blade white THEN red. Black as a base coat dulls the color more, and red isn't very vibrant anyway
I love seeing the process...the care and thought which goes into a project like this. And one question...is the drybrush most always your last step?
Mike Sprenger Thanks you! I will typically highlight after drybrushing.
Amazing job! The shoulder thing is called a pauldran.
Pauldron*
I'm here from the future to tell you that your channel is awesome!
shoulder thing = Pauldron
Craig Norris Thanks! I suppose I could have looked it up before recording. Haha.
@@Boylei you could have, but then you wouldn't have gotten the interaction from the audience! Lol
The shoulder thingy on the Stormtrooper is called a pauldron.
Future Boylei, look back and see how far you have come.
The shoulder pad is called a pauldron
That was fantastic... Great work!
1:33 obviously! It*s Jeff Vader, head of catering :)))) (tray not included)
I'm so sad this comment hasn't had more love!
thinking of buying this set but i will go absolutly crazy with the stormtrooper color scheme xD
Like how you concentrate on the details
O my god how fantastic they are
The Stormtrooper shoulder things are called Pauldrons
i have a question: So, if you paint.. i have experienced with painting other stuff that you might 'slip' with the brush and there's black in places where it doesnt belong.... how do you correct that without making a mess out of it... acrylic paint is sometimes difficult to correct i think
Are Star Wars legion models monopose or are there different arm/helmet options?
Yooo it’s dark father my favorite space battles character
Should of used neon style paint for the Sabers. More of a glowing pop to give them that uniqueness.
Can't really complain 1000x better paint work than what my fat fingers can achieve 🤗
That’s a good suggestion! Thanks!
You got me into legions thank you
Awesome job my dude!
You sure make 501st Legion Stormtroopers soon for Darth Vader!
Great video! The charactors are obviosly Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader
The guy with the cape is Spawn, or not?
What's the smallest brush you use? Something like a single hair?
The shoulder thing is called a pauldron
Hey that stormtrooper captains side thing is meant to be red
I know this is extremely late but I’m just now watch in this vid, for the record the shoulder thing is called puldron I think
5:50 Pauldron
Shoulder thing is called a pualdron btw
Where can i find one of these model kits?
What kind of glue is that?
i love it keep going
Im a really big star wars fan it's like Skywalker and darth vader
will games workshop plastic glue be enough to glue them?
Since this are soft plastic try to avoid plastic glue since it works best on hard plastic material. Just use plastic cement or regular super glue
@@daxor483 thank you
Boris Johnson and Steve from Minecraft were the guys you said to comment about!
What sand are you using?
I’m personally just wondering, why would you paint after assembly
Justin Colucci good question. I’ve always painted after assembly because I like seeing the model in its entirety while I paint it. Just a personal preference, I guess. It’s not always the safer/easier approach.
If a model has a spots I KNOW I won’t be able to reach after assembly, I will paint first, assemble afterwards.
Boylei Hobby Time ohhhh thank you. I’m thinking of getting a couple sets myself and I that was the way you’re supposed to do it
very good keep it up
You weren't going to paint first?

I will take a wild guess that the first character was darth rinkus, one of the greatest Jedi warriors
Loveed painting mine, but I never understood the game. So I ended Up giving it away.
Assembling a Warhammer Fantasy set I also got super glue in my eye.
1:29 is that Darph Nader and Fluke Starbucker?
People still reference Hardware Wars, right? Not just me?
Its called a shoulder pauldron
It is a shame they made the figures bigger as I have WOTC imperial assault and other smaller scale stuff .
Where the new ones look good and I would have added some of them the scale means I won't be
For sure. Crossover of miniatures would have been very nice. It is a shame.
1:33 Darth Vader
"Stormtroopers are easy to paint". This hurt me.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
No Rey Skywalker?
Josiah Maraat She didn’t come with the set. Maybe they’ll release that set soon.
Most likely in the resistance era
