- Brilliantly realized "meet cute" from Michael Cimino's great debut, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. With Clint Eastwood, Jeff Bridges (in an Oscar nominated performance) and Roy Jenson as "Dunlop".

Jeff Bridges deserved that Oscar nomination for this. Great film, one of the best from the 1970s.
Apparently Eastwood got pissed coz Bridges kept stealing the scenes.
Damn good movie!!!.. i was 23 yrs old when i watched this the first time...it’s now 2020 and i’m 68...
52.
I was 13 years old when the movie 🎦 came out in theatres in late May 1974
The ending was very similar to Midnight Cowboy awesome film one the best from the 70’s.
Such an amazing directorial debut from Cimino
I've kept this movie in memory because of the magnificent shootings of skies, fields, and especially the opening with the church which looks like a Edward Hopper's painting...
Classic Michael Cimino.
Art background.
The Trans Am was Clint Eastwood's own personal car. He had the shaker painted Red to make it look "used".
it was one of the fastest 'stock' muscle cars that Road and Track clocked 455HO is no joke,...
Masterpiece !
This great movie has shaped my youth and my life.
My absolute favorite movie.
I will love this fantastic movie with all the great actors till the end.
Thanks for loading this and also thx to YT for the possibility. -
This is gold, love this movie
Very colorful cast for this film! George Kennedy RIP!
Yeah the 4 of them. Lewis, Eastwood, Bridges, Kennedy. Shame about Cimino in 1980 though.
This was directed by the late Michael Cimino. He had a way with grand vistas and magnificent scenic backdrops--just like in "Heaven's Gate." They say in this movie, Eastwood kept him on a tight leash.
The car salesman is Gregory Walcott, of the legendary "Plan Nine from Outer Space"; and also one of the cops in "Every Which Way but Loose."
My favorite Clint Eastwood movie. I'm going to watch it tonight. 👍🏻🥤🍿
So was it good? I said too my neighbour can’t believe u have to pay to watch a Clint movie.. he has all the movies except this one .. f.... it. Lol
YUMMY 70's
Luv this film💙💙💙💙
George Kennedy's finest performance in my opinion.
George Kennedy, Eastwood, Bridges, and Geoffrey Lewis kicked ass.
Cool Hand Luke was interesting, went from being a bad to a good
Not better than Cool Hand Luke
brief but brilliant !!! ... Jeff was the star by far !!!
The first and on of Cimino's bests!
I want that '59 Caddy in the beginning. With no mufflers!
oh god, me too
Some of Clints movies can get cheesy, but this is in my top three of all time of his. An awesome movie. Great actors.
@Marinecwby - The BEST !
I love this movie tlll my end.
Fav. No. 1 -
Kind regards from Germany -
Michael Cimino in interview: 'People used to say him [CEastwood], "Well, what're you doing?" He'd say, "I don't know. I'm making a movie with some twelve-year-old kid... I would ask Clint every single night, I'd say "Clint, are you happy with the footage?" And he said, "Michael, you just keep putting", quote,,, "you just keep putting your vision on the screen."'
the part that makes me cry is the trans am with 1000 miles on it for $3000 bucks....
i'd like to dwell in that car
ZeeboLaywicker ... i know.. my friend was trying to sell his 1968 Camaro 350 4bbl for $500 bucks because he can’t take it with him overseas...i can’t afford it.. i already own a 1971 AMC Javelin!!! I bought for $1,200...
still crying !!!
Fun fact The trans am was actually clints own car …
It's a 73. Dad bought me a new one in December 72 as a college car. He paid about $3300. All but 252 of these had a regular gas, station wagon 455 (non HO).
What a film . just love it .
When i heard of it i assumed it was a western. Kind of is a modern one.
Watched the Movie as a child and adore it to this very Day, Amen.
This film is a must see before you die
Hallelujah, what a Savior! Amen
"Its clean as a cat's ass"
I have to watch this movie I've never seen it i've only seen Clint's westerns....
Amazing opening and movie. A buddie movie, western, heist, and adventure all in one. With great soft core sex scenes.
"That aint it." -- Dub Taylor
That car in 1973 wow
Am I the only one who finds the noise the shooter guy makes at 4:56 kind of funny?
Hayayhugayeidt
Don’t forget the car salesman is also in Joe Kidd and The Eiger Sanction
"Right turn Clyde"
Clint actually made a pretty good Preacher !
George Kennedy RIP
Jeff bridges kills me 😅..:woo wooooo
Hehe
Cathy Bach before the daisy Duke role
Catherine Bach had a small role as in thunderbolt and Lightfoot.george Kennedy as red Leary
That was her first acting role and I saw her in the Carlisle, PA fairground for the All Mopar National Show for autograph session I took my movie DVD to show it to her and she was surprised about it I asked her if it was her first acting. She said yes she signed it 😎 of course most people knew her as a Daisy Duke character.
One of George Kennedy's best movies ever in my opinion. Any one knows what the hell he said here - 3:45 -- seeing Clint Eastwood run always makes me laugh. He could never really run with any true style or grace. He always ran like he stole something - because in most of his films his character always did steal something. And those chasing after him always wanted what stole back. But his runs were always sort of clumsy looking like a person who's not really made to be a runner. Clint always ran like his body was in major pain but for real not acting.
you hippie SOB ? sounds close.
The Broomhandle Mauser makes that scene.
懐かしい
The beautiful christian song the choir is singing. Could you provide the name?
What we’ve got hereeeerreee ... is ... failure ... to-communicate.
Some men you ...just ....can’t ...reach...
I would literally kill for a TA 455HO ....
It was clints own car👍🏽
Boy,I would love to have that Trans Am now
Great Movie to say the least. Is the Hit Man packing a Mauser 9mm?
It's a Mauser Broomhandle. Could be a 9 or a 7.63. Red Chinese used them in Korea so it was probably meant to depict a weapon that the George Kennedy character picked up in the war, along with the M2 carbine he uses later.
I had one once for a short while over 35 years ago.
It was pale blue with a huge gold eagle decal on the bonnet.
LHD, four on the floor, and in very used condition lol
I bought it for about £400 and drove it over 100 miles home.
I know time and memories play tricks with us and we get all starry eyed for the past classics we've driven or longed for...
I can honestly say it was a piece of shit, fabricated exhaust, tatty seats, drove slowly, noisy and thirsty as fuck.
Bad Driving position, most of the electrics unreliable and went round corners like bag of sand on a skateboard.
Crap acceleration, wayward steering.
They say you should never meet your heroes lol.
I sold the fuckin thing soon after for a loss and I was glad to see it go.
So there....... Lol
@PRAETORIAN 994 -
....ohh....bad luck !
I find the "Eldorado" miles miles better !
Kind regards.
Same church in Kill Bob Vol 2?
The NON Bliblical Lightfoot showing up : )
Fat boy got a lot of shots from that old Mauser. The Disco Camaro (or TransAm) did well in the dirt, though.
1:37 Lion and NOT Wolf!
Back when Cimino was an accomplished director. After The Deer Hunter, he couldn’t direct himself out of a paper bag!
no... I look at it like he couldn't make a paper bag of shit like CommieWood wanted... after the early 80's CommieWood went to shit by-in-large..
