- Tender ending to Michael Cimino's great debut, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. With Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges (in an Oscar nominated performance).
Song:

Four great actors in a perfect movie which was underrated.
When Clint Eastwood leans over in the car and gently touches Jeff Bridges' face, and realizes he's just lost his best friend, it is one of the most moving moments in films. Both of them are hugely underrated actors.. I am still influenced as an actor/screenwriter, by scenes like this..
My favorite performance of Jeff Bridges.
He had a few...
I came here for this. Remembered the scene but not the movie. Great movie.
this scene tears me up every single F-ing time i watch this film😓
A great film
Me too. It breaks my heart each time I watch it.
Michael Cimino didn't hesitate to let the main protagonists die in sad ways. I'll give him that much.
Bridges is superb, but I love how Eastwood shows the gradual concerning about his friend. Great actor.
What a sad end ... It broke my heart ... For me, one of the best performances of Jeff Bridges who deserved an Oscar for this movie but didn't get it.
He was nominated though
My favorite Clint Eastwood movie.
Mine too along with another great one that was underrated " The Eiger Sanction "
An excellent movie, underrated for sure. I was an usher in a theater back in the 70's when it was showing. I must have watched it 6 times on my days off during its 2 week run, in addition to watching bits and pieces of the film about 30 times when I was working.
Great film , hilarious and heartbreaking in equal measure
AN ENDING LIKE - MIDNIGHT COWBOY....
classic...good old days.
Bloody dam good film .... the white Cadillac 👌🏽
I wasn't born till 8 years after this was made. I used to tape loads of random films that came on TV in the 80s and 90s...this was one of then.
I used to take films a lot more serious as a kid, they seemed so much more real when we were that little bit more unexposed to the adult world.
The ending always made me sad.
Great film.
Two legends make it. 👍
Such a classic, underrated film...only by those who have never seen, or heard of it.
"...we made it! we made it..."
Best road movie ever… full stop. Greatings from Padua. Italy.
I still remember the first time I saw this movie the ending was so unexpected for me, I felt "oh NO". To this day one of my very favorite films. Jeff Bridges is underrated for his past performances. It's about time he has gotten his richly deserved honors. though delayed.
We Made It...!
Time for a Cigar...!
"I want four scrambled eggs - very loose. Bacon, toast, coffee and American fries. You got American fries? AMERICAN fries...
Touch of Midnight Cowboy ending there i think.
Also “Easy Rider.”
This was a good film.
best movie ever
lightfoot, you should feel like a hero, not every one can accomplish what you all did.
Best Film. Amazing actors
nice move
One of the best movies ever.
What a great film. I still say he died like this because of the jerk they were involved with who hit him in the bush.
LOOKS AS THOUGH HE'S SUFFERED A HEART ATTACK OR STROKE, AS HE IS SLURRING HIS WORDS...
PAUL THOMSON no when he got jumped by red he sustained a brain injury
Getting kicked in the head hard enough can do that
What a sad sad scene they were very good friends sadly he died when they were enjoying countryside listening music an he died sad
Did anyone know what he died of let me know? Ok 👌
Earlier in the movie he got whacked in the head really hard by the other member of the two guys they teamed up with.
It was like a delayed head trauma that made his left side go numb in his brain.
"Cheap pot - boilers like this shouldn't be released, instead they should be recycled and used to catch droppings on the floors of chicken coups". So said one critic at the time!
did he get a stroke?
Cerebral hemorrage... devasting his brain to death. I'm from Italy and I saw this movie when i was 15 with my uncle, passionale of movies, RIP. GREAT MOVIE, sad end and now difficult for me to look at the end and to hear the song without a terrible sadness in me. 😢
I felt like a hero when i scored $60,000 all the disappointments in life dissipated outta me lol. For once in my life i screwed the vultures back. Dint care if i died at the moment knowing that i won
WHAT IS THE SONG WHEN THEY ARE SMOKING?????????
I wish red didnt beat him up so much
Lightfoot must had internal bleeding
I believe he suffered a stroke or possibly many strokes after the beating
Bleeding on the brain
Redd Leary should be added to the top movie villains list,he was mean.
Was brilliant 😂😂. Think it was "A GOOD JOB" Maybe they can make a 2nd 1 with Eastwood & LightToes son
One of the worst endings ever lol made me so freaking sad the first time i saw this movie... still does bum me out
Thats the best movies touch your soul.
Did he had a stroke from the beating?
