Clint has had an incredible career, and the praise he gets from those who've worked with him is widespread and consistent. Didn't pan out to gold every time, but my gosh has he directed some gems.
I really think what happened with him is he got drunk off the accolades from Deer Hunter and felt he could do whatever he wanted and not listen to reason from others
Was it he an old green pickup that Clint in 'Every Which Way But Loose'? There's a scene in the flick that I remember where Clint starts up his truck and before taking off he pulled out a stick of gum, then he threw the gum wrapper out the window. Just threw it out the window like nothing. When watching again recently I wondered if it bothered me as much when it came out. People who grew up in the 1960s + 70s still remember that iconic Indian with the tear coming down his cheek and I know it had an impact on myself + millions my age.
I wouldn't doubt that he was fully in character during that scene. From what I know of Clint Eastwood, he has always been a thoughtful, conscientious individual he's very "Anti-waste."
In case anyone is unsure, Joann Carelli was Michael's romantic partner, as well as working partner. Even after they split they were able to work together for some time.
The whole look of the picture was the best thing going for it. Even that suburban tract home scene....see it on the big screen and it looked almost surreal.
This is a great clip that reveals a ton in a short time. Cimino made Montana look so incredible in this film that it nearly steals the entire show.
One of my favourite films of all time . Thanks you for this deeper insight 🙏🏻 .
Great hidden gem of a movie!
Charming guy and a great interview.
This is absolute GOLD, one of my fav movies.

This is ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC
What a great story from the great director of the greatest movie maker ever.
It’s a shame what happened to him after Heaven’s Gate. This guy was a talent

Scope on screen was provided by “BigSky”. That’s Montana. you couldn’t leave SCOPE out if you tried.

He bet on himself just like Stallone did with Rocky...good on him
5:12 Absolute rubbish.
It was the *TWELFTH* Malpaso production.
Clint was no.1 box office but he wasn't the best actor. What an inflated ego.
Cimino didn't say he was the best actor.
He’s great.
