    I had a water filter vacuum (another brand) that finally gave up the ghost. I LOVED it but didn't want to spend that kind of money to replace it. I looked into the Quantum but was uncertain. Thank you for the thoroughness of your review -- for going over the attachments as well as functions--and demonstrating the suction power with various material/areas. It is always difficult to buy something like this without actually trying for yourself. Your review is complete enough for me to consider this vacuum as a replacement. Thanks!

      The vacuum did not reach under the beds even with the extension. It was difficult/awkward to carry up the stairs or lift over items since there is no where to grab it. If it had a handle partway down the handle it wouldn't be awkward to lift. I accidentally detached the reservoir while trying to lift it. I returned the vacuum

    I've had my Quantum X for about 5 months and it is AMAZING for pet hair. I have a dog and 2 cats and I'm thankful for the water filtration. I finally feel like my house is clean when I'm done. It's pretty ucky when I'm done and I don't empty it down my drain. . .outside the majority goes, then in rinsing, if it's still pretty bad - down the toilet. I was not aware until one of these vids that the insert came out for cleaning - who knew?! Also, I sure wish there was a way to store the cord - that to me is one draw back. Perhaps QX will find a remedy soon.

    I've had this vacuum for 5 months now and I absolutely love it! It has incredible suction and plenty of attachments. My only gripe is that you have to store the power cord separately and it is not power-driven. It's a bummer since this unit can feel quite heavy at times. The included fragrances are WONDERFUL!

    For dumping the water: just get a large, dedicated tea strainer to strain out the chunks, throw those in the trash and let the rest go down the drain. That's what I do now with my Rainbow. Gotta say I'm a little miffed that I learned about this vacuum AFTER I spent 3500.00 on a new Rainbow. o.O Don't get me wrong, Rainbows are great vacuums (my first Rainbow lasted for nearly 20 years in an energetic family with kids and pets, and was even used in a side hustle cleaning houses) but at this stage of my life (no kids at home, no grandkids yet) I could have made do with the Quantum...and paid ~10% of the price! :/

    When you clean in at the end, you have to reach in and pop the black insides out of the reservoir. You must dry everything before you replace and put back into the vacuum. This for sure has pros and cons. The cons are weight and all the parts and pieces that need to be stored but mine came with a nice bag for storage. Other than what I've listed, it's all pros. The biggest pros are it's cleaning power and not having to deal with filters. It's absolutely awesome for cleaning up kitchen floors (especially when you have a daycare), it can clean up food particles so you don't have to worry about bacteria and odors. I have two dogs and couldn't believe the way it picks up their hair from my hardwoods and carpets. It is made well. I would say the pros outweigh the cons.

    I've been using Shark for quite a while. When I got the Quantum I was flabbergasted!! After vacuuming the water was BLACK! So much for the Shark having tremendous suction!! Second time the water was brown my only complaint is the weight (thank goodness I don't have to carry it upstairs since we live in a ranch) and the loud noise.

    We bought one and the first time I used it I was very impressed with its cleaning power. Then the 2nd time the LED’s flashed and turned off. Then I realized the brush stopped turning. We reset it. It worked again. Then it shut off again on the 4th time. I think we bought a lemon. And a rather expensive one at that. The fact that there is no cord or attachment holder makes the whole experience for me that much worse. I’m on the fence whether I would just exchange it or go with something else

  • @Jimmy_Cavallo

    💥💥 Great review… The biggest problem is dumping the water. If you dump that outside somewhere over time it will become a.big mound of a mess since it will take years to break down. It won’t break down in a week or two like dog poop after a good rainstorm or two. Some people suggested getting a big strainer. You can dump the solid part in the trash but over time you will have serious plumbing issues if you dump the liquid down the drain each week. It contains sediment from the dust and dirt which if done month after month will stick to the drain pipes and eventually close them up causing reduced flow and them complete blockage. It’s the same harm as rinsing off grouting tools if you do ceramic tile work or drywall tools if you do spackling and rinse it down a drain. I’m a contractor of 3 decades so I know these things 🤟🏼🌟 Otherwise I would really enjoy buying one of these for myself since I have a dog and two cats.

    My question is, how the water works to sucks the dirt? The way i see from the video is this think dont't have any seperator mechanism to push the dust to the water.. If This mechanism is not there, is impossible to get good filtration,yaa off course you don't need any filter or etc, how about the output? Because if sucks as much as that but also blow the residue back to the air again, what for you using the Vacuum? Is that any test that measure how much dust that goes again back to the air?

    I like mine, it does a great job. But the big cons for me: you can't just vacuum & put it away, because if you don't clean out the water canister, it STINKS bad (and that was just waiting overnight). And if you have pets, you need to be sure to clean out the inside of black 'S' curbed insert - it can hold a lot of wet hair. Last - for the money it needs a cord keeper & the attachments are not mounted. So when I was downstairs & realized I wanted to use the hose, I had run up & grab it. Would be nice to have them right there.

    I have a Rainbow that I absolutely LOVE because it literally DOES EVERYTHING! It even has other attachments you can buy for washing floors and carpet cleaning. I love how tough my Rainbow vac is. It takes a beating sometimes. It’s definitely heavy duty. I even use it as a small leaf blower on porches after I clean the house I’m cleaning. This one looks good, but compared to the Rainbow, doesn’t come close. How many times do you have to dump that water when cleaning a whole house full of dog hair or a lake house with windows that have longjaw spider webs everywhere? The amount of water my Rainbow vac water basin holds, makes it where I only have to dump it one time without refilling on a large house that is well kept and dump twice to refill once on really messy dog-hair houses or deep cleans that have bugs everywhere. This water basin seems small and would need to be dumped and refilled multiple times. How fast is the psi? The Rainbow psi is like 60mph. I’m not a Rainbow salesman either. A customer showed me this vacuum and thought I’d check it out. I guess for a backup, I’d have this vacuum over a Shark Apex. I’ve used almost all brands; all models of Sharks (the Apex is the best one), most models of Dyson, Hoovers, Dirt Devils, Bissels, Kirby and Eureka and I’ve done all kinds of cleaning jobs. The Rainbow is the ONLY vacuum that meets to my OCD standards. It too makes the air fresher, but I don’t use synthetic fragrances, I use a few drops of essential oils. The newest Rainbow, E2 series also doubles as an air filter on the lower setting. I would be curious to try this though, just to see how it performs. I have been thinking about buying a backup, especially for the house because when I’m off cleaning, my teenagers don’t have a vacuum to clean my house with when I am at work. I am also currently pregnant and carrying my Rainbow up stairs is becoming challenging, maybe this could be my backup for multiple story houses and when I get really far along in my third trimester, something more lightweight and easier to carry might be good to have. How heavy duty is the hose? Does it get clogged easily and if it does, how do you unclog it? With my Rainbow, I just switch it to the blower side and it blows the debris that’s causing the clog, right out of the hose, hence the reason I found out it doubles as a small leaf blower for porches.

      Many of us would disagree with you about the Rainbow being worth $3k, and there is no guarantee that it will last your lifetime without expensive repairs. I know of people who had Rainbows that did not last even 10 years. I'm amazed at how many fairly new Rainbows I see for sale on Facebook marketplace and other local sale web sites. I'd like to see Rainbow give buyers 30 days instead of 72 hours to cancel the sale, but it would likely kill 50% of their sales. If I were to buy, I would purchase used from a reputable vac store that offers a warranty through their shop. Rainbow vacuums are extremely noisy, and I don't like the power nozzles. I actually think the E-2 black model is better than the gimmicky new SRX.

    DUMP THE WATER IN THE TOILET.....
    I’m getting ready to buy one

    • @LifeInADay-July
      @LifeInADay-July 4 роки тому

      The guy said that dumping the (unfiltered) dirty water down the toilet is likely to create a toilet clog down the line. One commenter mentioned to use a large dedicated tea strainer to filter out the large chunks, throw them in the trash, then dump the remaining dirty water down the drain, which could include the toilet.

      @@LifeInADay-July I wouldn't have a problem dumping it down the toilet! Treatment plants can break down hair and fiber's! And you wouldn't be picking up anything that could break it! I'd have to then rinse it in the tub! Cheap apartments with no utility sink!

      @@me4654 You can dump the dirty water but definitely strain it if you have dogs. The dog hair it picked up was a solid mat of hair. It definitely would have caused some issues in our plumbing. I put that in the trash. I love the idea of a dedicated strainer that someone recommended. I am going to do that!

    This is the worst purchase I have ever made. It has never worked right and they keep sending me parts back and forth And it gets expensive. It simply does not pick up dirt and the water stays clear. I did a lot of research to get a good vacuum because I have a lot of health problems. This has just caused frustration.

    Where did you buy yours ??? I’ve been trying to buy one, but it’s kind of scetchy ! I’m not sure if it’s a scam ! The website has 2 different numbers and different advertised prices. Once I put payment info in it shows a blank page and I get no email confirming my order. Please help ! Could you give me the phone number of the company you bought yours from ???

      I agree that the vac is a little heavy. The center of gravity is higher than with other vacuums and because of the oval shape of the body you do have to learn to control it in a different way. This is emphasized when it is extended. I feel like I get an arm workout in addition to a clean rug.

  • @roncrate6424

    Why would you use only water to clean pet stains ? That is not going to kill germs. A cleaning solution is required.

    • @jmg1232
      @jmg1232 3 роки тому +4

      You are correct that you would need to clean the urine. These water filtration vacuums use water as the filter medium. The water doesn't touch the carpet, it just absorbs the dirt. You could use the vacuum to suck up the urine before cleaning the carpet with your pet urine enzyme cleaner. This is a vacuum not a carpet cleaner.

    This is actually the worst vacuum I have ever owned. Not only does it not pick up any anything, it actually leaves dirt behind, particularly pet hair.

      You’re better off with something like a Sebo felix. Large HEPA bags which you can fill up tons without losing suction. The brush is aggressive enough to pick up pet hair and can be switched off or the whole head changed for hard floors. It’s super low profile and will fit under most furniture and it’s made in Germany so you know it’s quality.
