The reason the hardwood attachment has that swivel neck is to keep the attachment FLAT against the floor when you extend the wand or go under furniture. It rotates to the R or L to maintain the head flat against the floor. The other thing is you should be able to use that pet hair attachment on your stairs. 🤗

@Zechariah Lukas I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
thanks for a great video. You're very articulate! Im having an issue with changing out the water basin...its stuck and will not come out. Any information?
I have been using mine for about 5 mos. I think it does a great job. And while I wanted to get way from emptying the dusty, dirty canister & the dirty filters, there are some cons for me to consider going back to my Shark that does a great job too. 1) you have to clean out the water canister each time (so no quick clean up before company arrives). We have a cat & 2 dogs, so LOTS of hair builds up in the black S tube - so make sure you rinse it out good. 2) I really miss having a cord keeper, and REALLY miss the hose & attachments mounted right on the vacuum. For those reasons alone, I would go back to my Shark if it wasn't for the price of the Quantum.
Thank you for this great review! Your children are adorable, your pets so cute and happy. You bring up an interesting dilemma about fluid dynamics and maneuverability so I'll share this interesting side note.... a former trucker friend told me that that water wobble (fluid momentum) you described is _also_ what makes trailers transporting liquid very difficult to haul, and believe it or not, especially _milk tankers_ because whereas most liquid transportation trailers have v-shaped protrusions inside the tanker to break the fluid momentum and reduce that force from the _inside_ of the trailer, milk transporters can not support that feature bc it turns the milk into cottage cheese during transport (!) so.. milk transport trailers are actually some of the most difficult and dangerous trailers to haul, even more dangerous than fuel transporters! re the squeegee(?) attachment @6:00 are the blades a soft rubber? It seems that, if the blades are malleable, you could trim them down to reduce that height of those side openings and if you left the front facing blade a little longer, it would put a little more pressure on the surface as you draw the hose towards you. I have had great success trimming various attachments into better use and efficiency, especially ones that just don't work... better to try to alter them than have them never used. thanks again.
Quantum vac is meant only for guys going to gym all the time. Not for a normal man or woman. I’m 73, I’ve had two rotator cuff repairs, and have damage and arthritis in both hands. The vacuum does clean well, but it’s impossibly hard for me to use. I don’t have the strength to get the water tank to release. Big $400 dollar mistake.😓😓
THIS is spot on for an honest review! And what's worse is that I re-injured BOTH OF MY ROTATOR CUFFS trying to keep this ridiculously heavy beast upright. My rehab took 2 long months. If you're a super strong person with super strong shoulder/arm joints and back, knock your lights out and buy one. But for me, I'm wondering if there's a class action lawsuit waiting to be filed for people who have seriously hurt themselves like me with the vacuum. Run, Forrest, Run (away from this thing)!
Thank you so very much for your review info. I have been looking at the water filtration vacuums but did not want to lug a canister around. I was considering this vacuum since it is the only upright on the market. They sell on Amazon and I read the various reviews but a lot of people were complaining about it falling apart. Im not sure if it has to do with how you treat your vacuums .. idk. I tend to treat everything i own with great care. I have used the Sears bag uprights, several different shark vacuums, kirby and the old Oreck. I have horrible dust allergies which is why I was seriously considering this vacuum. I can't empty the tank vacuums without having a full blown asthma attack so thought this might be better. Bag vacuums are fine but those are becoming far and few in-between these days. I do have a lot of stairs and 5 large breed French sheepdogs which have long hair but these are a breed that don't fully blow/shed coat (having hair not fur) and don't get a stinky body. My big concern would be how does it pick up the dog hair? Again thanks so much for posting this. It's a huge help.
Hey!! I love your comment, and I totally understand what you mean!! So regarding pet hair, it does a very good job picking it up, there are times I have to go over places quite a few times because of how stuck their hair/fur can get in furniture and especially in rugs/carpet, but in the end I still feel like it ends up so much cleaner than before. With everything you mention I think this could be a great vacuum for you, I still havent had any problems with mine coming apart or anything, and like you said, taking great care of it could be part of the solution :) Thanks for watching and for your question and comment!!
Thank you for the review I am definitely interested in getting a vacuum like this I am in a wheelchair so it's hard to get the right vacuum that would work for me... I have tried Vacuums in the past that keep breaking down... I had one water vac years ago that really work well but it wasn't this model
So, the larger of the two brush heads, and the rubber squeegee head... They both come apart... The bristles slide off the brush, so it's just a small head, which allows for more area coverage when sucking up water. The rubber comes off the squeegee, which allows it to sit flat on the floor and cover more area, but since there's still two holes left on top, I'm not sure how great the suction would be. Also, the rotating brush attachment, the rubber bristles are moveable. They twist to be over the opening with the rotating brush bristles, so you can't push hard enough to cut off air flow.
Thanks Lynda! From the sounds of some of the other comments it seems like having the 2 holes is what helps the suction to still happen or else it has no where to allow outside air to enter to then suck up the water, so I bet that would work better without the squeegee so I don't push the water around but instead just suck it up!
Found one about an hour away lightly used and it's $200 and they love it but was gifted something else that weights half as much and love that too. So hope I am getting a great deal because we have two dogs and one of them is a puppy and she kinda lives in our tiled dinning area and its nasty and we need something that can easily pick up pee messes quickly but can also do normal vacuuming on the rugs. Hope this is the 2 in one we need cause we could Never pay $300 or more for anything let alone a Vac. Thanks for this.
P.o.s. just stopped working for me after 8 months. The plugged stopped working.Had my carpets professionally cleaned after using the Quantum x for 6 months. The guy filled up his vacuum twice. The company responded to me telling me that it was years of dirt build up in my house. Reall???? The vacuum heavy and bulky. Not practical for stairs or dragging up and down stairs. I spend more time cleaning out the dirt build up in the vacuum chambers than I do cleaning my entire house. If you have hairy pets...run. this is not the vacuum for you. My husky sheds from April through September in the desert. This the Quantum clumps the hair and dumps it. The attachments a clunky. The more you extend the hose to reach areas, the less suction you have. Save your $400 and invest in a shark or Dyson or even a rainbow. I've had my shark for over 10 years. It still works great. My brother has had a rainbow for over 30 years. Still works great. I sent an email to the company because it supposed to have a one year warranty. I'm not holding my breath. Other reviews mention that the company doesn't respond.
Update I ordered a Shark vacuum last Thursday. I received it today Monday) had it put together in less than 5 minutes. OMG!!! It vacuumed the fur, no clumping mess to pick up. No mud to clean out! The suction is amazing!! I still haven't heard from the Quantum X people.
@@jjbuttercup84 no they only sent me a replacement cord and it took a few months to get it. By that time, I had ordered the shark Vortex. I've had that for a year now and it's been fantastic. At the 3.40 mark on the video i noticed the curtain in the background starts fluttering? Looks like a ghost because only one of the curtains move? Scary!!!
Here's my review it's very heavy vacuum cleaner and every time you use it you have to clean out that nasty mess in the water filte. Which is OK because you're not blowing air around and getting everything dirty and dusty again. It's easy to take apart and clean out the tubes. There's a video out there that shows you how you can take the cleaning head off. But when my rollers wouldn't rotate and I cleaned them they said push the red button on the back of a powerhead to restart. Mine was not RED!!! it was a little black tab/square button that looked like just part of the machine. Took me forever trying to find a RED BUTTON (on the Quantum x vacuum) When I found this little black square I pushed it and the rollers started working. PS. The serious downside besides the fact that it's an extremely heavy vacuum cleaner you cannot wrap the cord around and the bag Has to just sit on the floor but the biggest issue is the fact that if you extend your cleaning wand completely out using all the attachments it does not suck very well at all. So when I use my cleaning wand to vacuum the hardwood floors to get back underneath the chairs and stuff I only use 2 extensions rather than 3. And within the 1st month of June using it the flexible cable that attach is the wand tore off and I had to tape it back on
No cable management which really sucks, no pun intended!. Had to 3D print an attachment so don't have to keep connecting and disconnecting cable. Overall, great vacuum, especially if you have pets that shed a lot and bring in the back yard! Just don't use oil based scent otherwise it will damage the interior finish of canister creating a haze which is near to impossible to remove.
It truly is really heavy. I have 3 golden retrievers that shed a lot and I’ve been having a lot of problems with the hair gettin stuck in the roller brush under the vacuum instead of getting sucked up so it has made the vacuum useless for me. I’m wondering if anyone else has this problem?
Two thoughts I have: Could you use the pet hair attachment to vacuum your stairs? Could you use attachments from your shop vac or another vacuum to vacuum up the water?
It's not too terrible to clean, but a bit tedious - as you well know with the rainbow. Fortunately the tank is not as heavy as sometimes the rainbow could get!
WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE SHOW THE BACK OF THE VACUUM WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE BOTTOM PART, DOES IT LAY FLAT OR IS THERE A GAP NO PICTUES SHOW THE BACK AT THE BOTTOM. JUST BOUGHT 12-4-2021.
It does great with dog clumps, of course if they are too big you may just want to pick it up and throw it away, with my 2 dogs and 2 cats we get a decent amount of pet hair on the daily - especially when they're shedding their winter/summer coats.
You mentioned not liking doing the stairs (paraphrased), is it possible to use the hose out the back with the carpet/dust brush? Leaving the sweeper propped at the bottom or top of the stairs?
Yes you can totally do that, for regular stairs you might do just fine! The hose isn't too long for lots of stairs though. So for shorter stairs it would work great that way, thanks for the idea and comment 😊
That's up to you and how dirty each room is. Because we have 3 dogs and a cat, we have lots of pet hair that quickly accumulates each day, so I need/choose to change the water 1ce on each floor so it doesn't get too mucky. Also because Idaho is so dry, we get A LOT of dirt and dust. 😁
I suggest emptying it out after each use - we have 3 pets & I left the dirty water in it overnight & it smelled terrible! So now after using, I have mine sit out to make sure it is dry before putting it back in the closet.
I have had my Quantum X for about a year now. The lights in front haven't ever came on. Now for what ever reason it isn't sucking up anything. I have check everything I know to clean and check. Has anyone else had this problem??? In the past I owned a Rainbow canister sweeper for 30 years. So was excited to find this portable one. V
I ended up having an electrical issue and one of the pieces connecting the body to the head broke shortly after this review video (about a month or 2 after) and I contacted the company. They replied within 24 hrs, sent me the UPS label to send in the head to them. I did that and got it back within the next week! I was impressed with their speed and customer support there. Sorry you didn't have the same luck! It's been working perfectly fine again since I got it back!
I just have a question where do you even leave the dirty water, what happened if there big junk of trash in the water. Like do I put it in my trash can
Great question! So it is thrown away outside, I have a few different spots in my backyard i throw it. I didn't consider for anyone living in an apartment how that could be a challenge. On the other hand, if you pick up anything not biodegradable or that you wouldn't want to end up in your backyard or down the toilet prior to vacuuming then you could dump it down the toilet!
Oh! And if you do end up having a clump in the water that is easy to scoop out, then you could do as you are thinking- throw it in the trash, I know it would be gross to scoop it out but it would save you a hassle of a clogged toilet
I recommend getting a small plastic basket or a strainer at the Dollar store & leave it outside your back door. I drilled holes in the bottom of an ice cream bucket - then I dump the dirty water into that, the water drains out & the dirt & pet hair dries. Then after dumping it in the bucket 2 or 3 times - I just dump it in the trash.
To be honest sometimes it struggles a little because of how fast the brush is spinning. But if you go slow enough you can pick up most of it with the vacuum head. Though I try to avoid it a lot because of how cat litter is mostly clay based and can eventually clog up stuff.
@@becauseofsamuel change your litter from clay to the silica based litter. I did and it was the best thing I ever did. Not messy and only have to scoop out the poo. I completely change the litter box once a month, and scoop out the poo every other day. Only have 1 cat. And yes my Katrina likes this litter.
Great question! So it will only smell if you leave it with the dirty water in the the vacuum. If you clean it out after you're done each time then you wont get a smell. My mom accidentally did that, but cleaning it and making sure to let it dry has helped it avoid getting smelly again
I ordered this vacuum mainly for pet hair which it did a fantastic job. However, the swivel move, emt is difficult because i can't manage guiding too well. i have injury to my hands plus it feels heavy. manipulating it is the main issue for me, which magnifies the weight. any comments??
sorry, this review was fo the Sharp Vertex. Apply everythng I said to vertex.the SHARP vacuum. my question is: is this Quatum swivel head or is it stationary? that would be an issue for me. please voice comments.
My apologies for my delayed response Frankie! I've been away for a bit trying to get a business started and working full-time, etc, anyway, yes it does swivel! It is a heavy vacuum though, so if you have a difficult time holding up too much weight this unfortunately may hurt your hands as well. Good luck!!
Hi Cindy! It does good! Like most vacuums there does come a point where you will need to pull it off or cut it off, but I haven't had to do that often at all.
Hello, I have a weird choice for receiving one question for you. This is just a pretend scenario --If you had a choice between a Rainbow, Kirby, Quantum, or Dyson. Pretend you get a choice for you to get one free. Which one would you chose???
I haven't used a kirby in a really long time, and I've actually never used a Dyson. I feel I would b biased in my answer because of lack of usage/experience. I know that Kirby's are also very good heavy duty vacuums, Dyson's have had fantastic reviews by those who own them. I really like rainbows as well but they simply aren't as practical today and their price hasn't improved much over the years. I still prefer a water vacuum because of the way it traps dust. I do find the disposal of the water to be inconvenient if you dont want to flush it down the toilet. Because of the trapping of dust factor and being an upright water vacuum, I would still prefer the Quantum. Thanks for the great pretend scenario!!
Kirby is a good vacuum but it is a pain, Because of the bags. I love the rainbow it is a good one too. But it is a pain and takes up alot of space. IMy rainbow died on sunday and I order this vacuum on Sunday afternoon.
@@yoshersmum the bags don't bother me, it's the sound and the fact that I can't move die cast aluminum around it's so heavy I broke my toe getting up in the night, what's the price for this vacuum?
If you have been keeping the tank clean after each use, then there is no air smell other than the dust/dirt getting in the water, but if you forget to throw out the water, then put in new water sometimes that could make the air smell a little bad. So just make sure to throw out the water when you are done vacuuming and don't leave it in there overnight or all day.
That's a bummer that you didnt end up liking it Lori! That is a lot of money to find out you don't like it. Hopefully you find someone to sell it to to get some of your money back. Or did you end up returning it?
Lori, I too am having a hard time "liking" this vacuum. Hair gets wrapped around the beater bar. It's not easy to clean. The water canister makes it awkward to move around with ease. I do have a Kirby that I've had for 30 years. Wanted this for quick clean-ups in upstairs. I'd say Quantum is a "thumbs down".
This is their first vacuum (the Quantum), I'm waiting for them to upgrade to a better balance with regard the weight issue. Let's see how they respond...
During vacuuming there is still little dust in the air from vacuuming , just no dust after you are done when opening to throw away whatever you had colleted since it is in water .(but the problem is during vacuuming there is dust in the air caused/disturbed by vacuuming) . Then you also have the smell of vacuuming(I know that's normal but the smell is strong and I had thought with this vaccum u wouldn't smell it ). Does anyone have this issues? Also the whole vaccum has a very strong chemical smell , does anyone have this issues too ? (especially when you open the box every piece has a very strong chemical smell) .
Hey Barbara! In my first video I actually show a clean up of my dog throwing up and I cleaned it right after. My apologies for not replying right away I've been away from UA-cam for a bit trying to get a business started 😅 It does great cleaning it up, only thing is it's easier to clean concentrated spots than large spots if you need to water clean. The attachments just don't work the greatest for large water cleanups, but great for smaller area ones!
When you do the steps you don’t use around thing like you hook the hose to use it for the furniture thing and you take the brush off of it in still do the steps OK when you hook the hose to the back of the unit and go up the steps with it you got 20 feet there I don’t know how many steps you can do then you have to bring it up if you got a landing then you have to bring it up and do it that way and then when you do wet spells use the same unit you the same attachment to do that to the pick up the carpet or pick up any water you don’t use that big unit that you demonstrate in your thing because it’s not really designed really for that it’s a piss poor design and everything else you know if you know anything about vacuum cleaners much as I do and how many years I’ve used them in all the things in and out then you do you understand about cleaning because I have commercially clean for a couple years and I’ve used commercial stuff in a vacuum where I work right now ain’t worth a shit I don’t wanna think about these commercial vacuum operates ain’t worth a shit you know I’m trying to talk to company to buy me a koala quantum X

Thank you soooo much for this review I think it's really helped me decide.
Thank you!!!
Thank you for this very useful information.
Thank you so much for this review.
Two thoughts I have:
Could you use the pet hair attachment to vacuum your stairs?
Could you use attachments from your shop vac or another vacuum to vacuum up the water?
Yes, I totally could use the pet attachment, and a shop vac has ended up being much easier to use on my stairs rather than the Quantum 😁
How is it to clean? I had the Bissel and it was gross to keep clean. I had the rainbow for 30 years which I loved but it got too heavy for me to use.
Thanks for sharing with us, I`ve been wanting to get one of these for a while now... where can I get it in rose gold?
Hi Veronica! I'm not sure if they offer it in Rose gold, but I bet the various websites (from all their different ads) would show the color options!!
I am getting one in rose gold from Amazon
I'd like to see how it does with clumps of pet hair. Does it get clogged up on either the brush head or the water basin? Thanks!
It does great with dog clumps, of course if they are too big you may just want to pick it up and throw it away, with my 2 dogs and 2 cats we get a decent amount of pet hair on the daily - especially when they're shedding their winter/summer coats.
What about cleaning furniture?
Shopping 🛒, thanks for the input
You mentioned not liking doing the stairs (paraphrased), is it possible to use the hose out the back with the carpet/dust brush? Leaving the sweeper propped at the bottom or top of the stairs?
Yes you can totally do that, for regular stairs you might do just fine! The hose isn't too long for lots of stairs though. So for shorter stairs it would work great that way, thanks for the idea and comment 😊
Do you have to clean hair out of the bottom of it that is like my biggest issue with my shark vac?
How often do you have to change the water basin during a normal house cleaning?
My wife Having the same problem to, junk!!!
How do you attach the hose
have u said this to quantum
it still stinks! any suggestions? the suction but like you said it is heavy. Also I can't get rid of the smell after I clean it thoroughly
Have you tried soaking it/ running it through with some vinegar? White vinegar is a good option for removing smells
The bong vacuum
Caution whatever you do not put that nasty water in any toilet or any kitchen sink bathtub or face Bowl sink to get to the nearest trash can
Buy a squeeze tool for that vacuum aftermarket just measure the size of the pipe
Great idea, thank you!!
I want one of these so bad. I wish they offered a payment plan
They offer 2 payments as of right now.
@@edoug0044 really? Thanks for the info❤️
@@Dannerusa that is a fantastic idea!! Thank you! I will even keep that in mind for me!!
Good job. I just bought one.
How does it work on scattered cat litter? Do you have any issues with it cleaning it up?
To be honest sometimes it struggles a little because of how fast the brush is spinning. But if you go slow enough you can pick up most of it with the vacuum head. Though I try to avoid it a lot because of how cat litter is mostly clay based and can eventually clog up stuff.
@@becauseofsamuel change your litter from clay to the silica based litter. I did and it was the best thing I ever did. Not messy and only have to scoop out the poo. I completely change the litter box once a month, and scoop out the poo every other day. Only have 1 cat. And yes my Katrina likes this litter.
Thanks so much. Great review
Can you add essential oil for smell while vacuuming? Example lavender essential oil?
Was just mentioned that if you use anything oil-based, it will create a haze inside the bin that's nearly impossible to remove.
How is cleaning the tank and letting it dry? I read one review that said it smelled?
Great question! So it will only smell if you leave it with the dirty water in the the vacuum. If you clean it out after you're done each time then you wont get a smell. My mom accidentally did that, but cleaning it and making sure to let it dry has helped it avoid getting smelly again
@@becauseofsamuel thank you for your fast reply! I appreciate your video! 😁
Does anyone know how this vacuum handles hard water? Here in the desert our water has tons of minerals.
Apply everythng I said to vertex.the
SHARP vacuum. my question is: is this Quatum swivel head or is it stationary?
that would be an issue for me. please voice comments.
My apologies for my delayed response Frankie! I've been away for a bit trying to get a business started and working full-time, etc, anyway, yes it does swivel! It is a heavy vacuum though, so if you have a difficult time holding up too much weight this unfortunately may hurt your hands as well. Good luck!!
Great review
do the front lights work? mine don't
Yes, mine work just fine! I'm sorry to hear you're don't. I bet you could reach out to them and they might replace it
thanks
Please tell me about how this vacuum handles very long human hair when cleaning the carpet. Thanks!
Hi Cindy! It does good! Like most vacuums there does come a point where you will need to pull it off or cut it off, but I haven't had to do that often at all.
Does anyone know how this vacuum handles hard water? Here in the desert our water has tons of minerals.
Miele, the one I have.
Lol at 6:35 something flies behind you in the bedroom.....not sure if it's an orb or just a moth or what.
How it is ther air smells after vacuum
If you have been keeping the tank clean after each use, then there is no air smell other than the dust/dirt getting in the water, but if you forget to throw out the water, then put in new water sometimes that could make the air smell a little bad. So just make sure to throw out the water when you are done vacuuming and don't leave it in there overnight or all day.
I have one, I do not like it. it is very heavy and hard to turn due to the weight
How do u take the extension off of the back ?
Hi Preston! You simply press on the little hook on the top of it and pull.
I dont know how to use the hose part, don't know how to connect
Wonder where the exhaust exits this machine. It will disturb room dust.
@ 6:37, a hair flew in front of the camera - kind of freaked me out. I guess the Q X missed that one. LOL
How does this work on pet accidents on a rug?
Hey Barbara! In my first video I actually show a clean up of my dog throwing up and I cleaned it right after. My apologies for not replying right away I've been away from UA-cam for a bit trying to get a business started 😅
It does great cleaning it up, only thing is it's easier to clean concentrated spots than large spots if you need to water clean. The attachments just don't work the greatest for large water cleanups, but great for smaller area ones!
What about a very thick, shag rug?
how much did you pay for it?
$299 with their Black Friday Special a couple of years ago!
where is the reset button
The on/off button? It's a touch screen on a black screen. When you plug it in it's a red circle with a line through it. Just touch it and it turns on
also it does not have a place for cord. and i am not buying the one rhey offer.
That's understandable! I just coil mine up and put it inside the handle :)
Ok this is depressing. Does she understand what vacuums are used for lol. Couldn't even finish watching whole thing. She gave me a headache.
Hi Michele! Maybe this guy is more what you're looking for, he does a simple and great review :) ua-cam.com/video/yWYAnCSbiZA/v-deo.html
Not worth $400 I wasted my hard earned money

Your comment was ok, but not really helpful, so why comment?
@@tren35 i comment because i can and will and do so. If you as a person give a review but you dont know many things on the product. ... Well is not a review.
However. It is a great product. Good day to you
