Beadle began supplying odd facts and questions to radio and television game shows, such as Celebrity Squares. He sent a number of questions to Bob Monkhouse, the host, without the answers and Monkhouse was so impressed he rang Jeremy to ask him to work on the show.[4] His presenting style on the phone-in programme Nightline on LBC in London, which he hosted between September 1979 and 22 June 1980 (when he was sacked), led to a cult following. He introduced himself as Jeremy James Anthony Gibson-Beadlebum: "Jeremy James Anthony Gibson-Beadle is my name and a bum is what I am," he explained. He teased his producer as 'Butch' Bavin Cook (b. 12 June).
On 31 May 1980, he began co-presenting the children's television show Fun Factory with his LBC co-star Thérèse Birch, Kevin Day and Billy Boyle. On Capital Radio Beadle presented Beadle's Odditarium, a music show concentrating on strange, bizarre and rare recordings all taken from the archives of producer Phil Swern. From 5 October 1986, Beadle presented Beadle's Brainbusters on the independent local radio network, with questions written by Beadle and Paul Donnelley. He also became renowned for his off-air pranks and intellectually challenging quizzes. He wrote, devised and presented many television pilots for the highly successful game show company Action Time, then run by Jeremy Fox, the son of Paul Fox. Beadle wrote and presented The Deceivers, a BBC2 television series recounting the history of swindlers and hoaxers.[8] The success of this led to using the same format for Eureka, which told the background behind everyday inventions. He hosted a US game show pilot in 1985 called Family Follies, which did not make it to a full series.
Beadle then went on to become nationally famous as one of the presenters of LWT's Game for a Laugh, the first programme made by ITV to beat the BBC's shows in the Saturday night ratings battle.[4] This was followed by a hidden-camera style practical joke show, Beadle's About (1986-1996), which became the world's longest continuously running hidden-camera show. - Розваги

he was fantastic
Liked and watch out Alan about! Brilliant as usual
Use my mate
So sad he was taken to early RIP Jeremy you bought so much laughter to peoples homes till the next one 😊
I think he was a very charasmatic character…and yes he is missed. I liked his unusual grave stone…that was really different! By the way Alan, your bird friend was a magpie…hated by many for taking eggs and young chicks of other birds, but looked at seperately they are really quite attractive birds, lovely plumage, blueyblack feathers and white, and very intelligent! You had a lovely day there, glad you got to enjoy some sunshine as it’s starts getting a bit cooler. Best wishes from Norfolk! 🙋♀️🥰👍
Jeremy Beadle always takes me back to my teenage years ❤. I loved Beadle's About, just the looks on the faces when Jeremy revealed that they had been had 😊😊
It could not have been better
A clever, funny man, so sad he died a youngish man. Thanks for the video, looking forward to some more.
I'll do my best now that you've told me. Joy 😀
Nice short video Alan. I hope your enjoying your holiday
Hi Psi I'm trying my friend before the winter kicks in big time. No we can still enjoy yourself no matter the weather. See you soon mate
Just brilliant ❤❤❤
I used to like the hidden camera shows back in the day when I watched TV
Nice one John it sounds like TV is a thing of the past for you
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep I still watch the classics on DVD or youtube😊
Good Saturday night entertainment, thank you for the upload Alan 👍
A tackesyou back doesn't take John
@MotorHomeBeepBeep the best years Alan 🙂
Thanks for this but it never ceases to amaze me how neglected some of these famous people's gravestones are. He has only been gone 15 years and yet the inscription can hardly be seen and no flowers even though he had a wife, son and daughter.
By contrast, My Mum left us in 1996 so 27 years ago and the gravestone and for much of the year, the flowers look like it has been a recent passing.
These celebrity families can't all live far away, surely.
I know exactly what you mean You would think that some of the founders would go as well. I think it's because we are the busy lives, but it does seem sad
I feel very sad . I totally agree with you. Another thing that makes me sad is when you look at all they had in life most people would never experience and what they come to . I live near sevenhampton and often visit the resting place of Sir Ian Fleming his wife and son. You once shared his memory and showed his memorial on motor home beep beep . It hit home the other day Ian 's son Caspar passed over at the age of 23 . I always imagin he is 23 but calculating his age from birth he is 71 y old. I just could not get my head round it. Moreover he has been gone for 48 y. I can't believe it has taken 48 y to pass before Caspar now has someone to regularly pay respects to him and his family on a regular basis holding a good thought for them . I totally understand how you feel about the neglect .
@@ericdonnelly-ew5yj Well said.
Thank you. You are very kind.
I loved watching Beadle about as a young man so funny. Thanks again Alan hope your well mate.
I'm okay Warrior good old Jeremy was always on that screens have a great weekend mate
Hi Alan Beadles about was a good show and good laugh
He was always game for a laugh
Another great video allan please keep the videos coming thanks
I will just for you
I was very fortunate to meet Jeremy Beadle at a private event. I have to admit I wasn’t a fan but in person he was a very warm, friendly and nice man. Always joking but in a good way with no airs and graces. I really enjoyed chatting to him.
Hello Graham that is a lovely story to hear. It's always nice when you get a personal opinion on the subject. What a nice mermaid to have and thank you for telling everybody Alan
Thanks Alan for the video I liked watching Jeremy Beadle love watching your videos
And I love you watching them. Marion 😉
Thanks Alan you certainly do find them very interesting one loved game for a laugh ❤
Hello Maureen, he was a fun guy. I'm very clever... Thank you, Alan
Yeah i liked Beagles About.
I enjoyed all Jeremy Beagles shows.
Hey alan loved this man and the programs never stopped laughing thank you for the video xxxxx 🌹🌹🌹
Hi Alan! Another fabulous video on this great entertainer - along with Bob Monkhouse, Hughie Green, Bruce Forsyth and so many more - from the golden age of british TV. And Highgate Cementry is such a wonderful and historic place.. Thank you Alan!
❤❤
I remember Jeremy Beadle..very very funny..great video once again Alan..from a New Zealand viewer:)..i thought at first , the lady walking behind you was your wife til i realised she wasnt in next part onwards
Hi Nay it's nice to get as far as New Zealand :-) I not married ever ahahah
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep haha
Thats a Magpie Alan- supposed to greet it politely for luck! A lovely headstone ,stay well mate x🏴
Hello Carol, well I was watching the magpie murders last night so I think it old gels nicely and you look after yourself and have a great weekend
You too love x
I was one of the cults following his LBC radio show. Never really appreciated his television stuff. He had a fascinating mind and I loved his dabbling into obscure historical facts. I am amazed it was less than a year stint at LBC as I could have sworn it was longer. Real sneak downstairs to listen on the family radiogram even though you had school in the morning stuff.
I used to watch Jeremy Beadle when I was younger.
Always made me laugh.
A good man.
🙏😂
Jeremy Beadle was very well thought of in the boxing world also for his charity work
Jeremy Beagle lol
I watched him as a kid , i didn't know he passed, weird he went so soon.
Alan when are you coming to the good old USA? I think you would like it here
Hi Hank I've been to New York and on the tour and las Vegas and absolutely loved it and I would love to come back and do some celebrity Graves so it's on my list if I can manage soon..... Thank you for the great suggestion and I'll see you in Whitby soon 😀
Hi Alan you need to Edit the main title my old mate it says Beagles about lol .and not forgetting Jeremy did tons of Charity work bless him.Very funny shows too.
Because I'm weird I like to think that there should have been an advert on tv for some kind of pooch product with a Beagle skipping along on a lead using the old theme tune as the jingle. I'll see myself out 😁
Hello Roger, thank you for pointing that out my friend. This dyslexia screws me up it's never a great problem until you start presenting in front of the people, but I appreciate you telling me. All the best my friend
It's really not a problem. If you ever think you would like someone to put an eye over anything at certain times, then my offer still stands, like I say I did do so before on some work for someone else which was ace@@MotorHomeBeepBeep
@@MotorHomeBeepBeepAlan hold you head high quality of the person who makes u guy
The woman with the alien i think its so true if most of us meet a alien we probably would asked them if they want a cup of tea lol
Absolutely David or at that time of the evening a glass of wine? Do you think you can drive a spaceship while under the influence?
I use to laugh so much at his game for a laugh
Alan, watch out Beadles about because he caught you out, his grave is the the tall monument on the opposite side of the path 😁😁
Is it really why is the headstone there then? Thank you
He also raised an estimated £100million for various charities throughout his life. A very much missed gentleman.
Unbelievable!
Looks like your in a lovely location Alan thanks for remembering Jeremy Bradley loved his shows who were the other two he worked with can’t remember I know there was a woman have to Google it cheers Alan 👍🏻😊
Hello crystal, I think the biggest show next to watch out was game for a laugh which came before it but he was on a lot of things. Thank you it's Greece. Have a great weekend!...
Give him a better headstone
I worked at Gatwick airport when I left school in 1985. Remember someone in the queue effing and jeffing behind me due to a customs work to rule slowing things down. I turned around and it was him drawing attention to himself. Got the impression he wasn't a very nice bloke
What's a shame You never know people can be caught in the wrong moment and people would love because of his status on TV. All the things I read about him were very complementary so I'll keep them but thank you for the interesting personal story. Regards, Alan
He was KC registered…
I used to love Game for a Laugh, it was one of those programs as a kid where you'd give your parents and neighbours a break by just sitting watching it 😁 You look nicely relaxed in your location. Is that a stalker behind you? 😁
It kind of files into 2 camps. Some people think this kind of humour is cruel but I think their judge to people well and if you ask them afterwards they will be highly delighted to have been involved and I'm sure if they didn't want to be on TV and never would have been.....no it's Rena she is from Greece 😀
👋Rena from Greece. I always think this kind of tv is great when you just want to chill out and have a laugh. It;s probably still a talking point for the people on there today, as with many other old tv programs! @@MotorHomeBeepBeep
Have you ever visited Bobby Knutt’s Grave at the Holy Trinity Church, Wentworth Rotherham.
Hi B that's very nice suggestion. I have actually considered it and did some research on it. But thank you. I will definitely try and do that in the knot for this and future. See you soon. Alan
Hi Alan how u doing mate !! U aboard I take it !!! U still doing grave requests I got a few if u interested
Hello Andy, yes I'm still doing them for sure. So please send them on private. Message me if you want or any means you like that will be super. Thank you, Alan
Found the Alien clip really cringeworthy, its hard to believe how gullible some people are, if anything the program highlighted just that. Good entertainment I suppose.
I use to laugh souvh
You keep saying Beagle, even when you read out his name !!
His name was BEADLE
Also he did You've Been Framed
Im glad you only did a short film for this horrid little man
He couldn't take a joke when the tables were turned on him
Alan has dyslexia. We all know what he is talking about around here!
Yes, I tried to do my best but I do have dyslexia which makes it impossible to visualise words unless you're looking directly so I often get things wrong. It's nothing I can do but most people still enjoy the content. Thank you!
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep I love your channel, and was unaware of the dyslexia ..... peace ✌️🕊️ xx
@@DonnaGB333 I was unaware of it
That's OK, you weren't to know @@Emjay_____71 Please stick around!
I never cared for Beadle or his puerile shows, his withered hand used to grab some of my attention though (pun intended).
How kind
