As much as they try they cannot cancel the Great Roald Dahl
Definitely - would ruin the books if they were made PC
Why do we listen to the minority anyway ?
He was one of the great authors. I liked what he wrote for tales of the unexpected .
Me too.
The man from the South
i got every story on dvd :)
The book ‘Boy’ is a book he wrote on his childhood. Without giving it all away, the sweet shop prank is hilarious.
I was always led to believe he wrote in yellow colouring pencil.
There is also a film about his life story and is worth a watch. Absolutely a brilliant man and his stories do live on.
Loved reading his books when I was at school in the 80s/90s. It’s a shame that people are trying to rewrite history because they have nothing better to do.
Roald Dahl my favourite ever ,,, ohh Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory, ill love it forever, my grandchildren watch it now ❤
One of the greatest writers ever! Loved all of his books. Remember hearing on the news he had sadly passed away and I was only 9 at the time. His books are a work of art and I’ll always love them. R.I.P Ronald Dahl gone but certainly never forgotten. Thanks Paul for yet another amazing video.
Roald*
Paul would you fulfill my suggestion by visiting the grave of actor gene wilder please and you are a sweet loveable guy on youtube 🎄🎄
I loved reading the Great Ronald Dahl books to my children and now my children read it to their children, they all love the films as well. thank you Ronald Dahl for the joy that you brought so many adults and children alike. May you R.I.P for eternity x
Look forward to seeing this. Ronald dahlia books are works of genius. Especially Charlie and the chocolate factory. A compelling read.

" Tales of the Unexpected " is very good.
Oh this one means a lot to me. My high school bought Roald Dahl's childhood home Cumberland Lodge in Llandaff, Cardiff as it was right next door, accessed through the school lane and to be used for music. It was rarely used as we had music space in school, but occasionally we had a small lesson in the front room on the right as you walk in. The house was empty most of the time. I realized I could go there whenever I wanted on breaks and lunch and play the piano in one of the upstairs rooms. During school hours the door was never locked. Upstairs were lots of empty rooms, and I kept my sanity. I'm an introvert who found school overwhelming, so his house was my sanctuary which I'm so grateful for. I remember everything was wooden, the floors, the walls etc. There was a basement but I was never brave enough to go down the steps as it was dark. I loved it there. I'd grown up reading Roald Dahl books. I'd read them all by high school and moved on to "boy" and "going solo", and there I read that this house used to belong to his family. I told the headmistress who had no idea. No fuss was made. I thought it was magical. As a little girl about 6 I'd asked my mother to type a letter to Roald inviting him to my birthday party, she did so but didn't tell me until years later she didn't send it. I often wonder if he'd replied if she had sent it to his publisher, even if it was just a little letter I'd have treasured it. It's strange how Roald has sort of been there my whole life. What a wonderful man, who brought so much joy to everyone. What a raw talent. (Just to let you know it's George's Marvellous Medicine at 7:16 not machine) Thank you for making this ♥♥
What a great story, l live nearby and lm very proud of Roald Dahl, my children grew up reading his stories, he was a brilliant man !
Great video Paul Totally agree with you Gene Wilder was the greatest Willy Wonka, Johnny Depp was a bit creepy. Look forward to the next one.xx
Nice one Paul! Didn’t realise how big that churchyard is! You were puffing and blowing a bit on this ‘ole son, I’ll put it down to a strong head wind! Lol. Anyway, another very interesting and enjoyable film. Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks again Paul for a very interesting video and the stunning views. I preferred the more serious side of Roald Dahl and his ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ used to have me glued to the television! Cheers again 👍

David Attenborough needs to learn off you 😂
Roald Dahls was my bedtime reading as a child and made My mum read just one more chapter as his stories was great.

You could imagine Paul walking through this green lush forest. Points his finger then says I think I found it. A huge bengal tiger then you see Paul. Legging it into the distance
My favourite Roald Dahl books will always be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
Thanks so much showing Ronald Dahls resting place.
I loved Roald Dahls books he was a true genius. I liked the phrase 😅 "Violet your turning Violet Violet" 😅. Thank you Paul much appreciated. 😊
Churches dont open up that early Paul. Another good one Paul always really interesting, mike sounds great. swearing bleeps nearly blew me eardrums out though,😬 you would have had to bleep me out.

Something I heard....
" We are not given a Good life or a Bad life.... We are Given a life...
It's up to us to make it Good or Bad.. "
Would love to hear people's thoughts, great channel Paul, love it 👍
Thank you and very true
What a beautiful walk! Thank you so much for taking us along. Very much appreciated, 👍🇨🇦
He was one of the first people to look into the Mildenhall treasure. His whole wiki is worth checking out.
Well maintained grave. Agree the original Charlie and the chocolate factory original was fab! X
The original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder was just amazing when I was little.
My children watched both films and the prefer the old version also.
I didn’t know his history. Very interesting. Thank you ❤
Unfortunately, Roald Dahl is famously known for hating the original Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder and why Johnny Depp's/Tim Burton's adaptation was allowed to be produced. Personally, I prefer the first version. The newer version is just a bit weird in all the wrong ways
Most authors dont like adoptions of thier work.
@@L1am21 well unfortunately, the movie was a flop at the time. Which meant his name and book were associated with it. However, today, it's considered as a true classic and Tim Burton's adaptation not as good regardless of it being closer to the book.
@@AdamForeman It wasn’t just Willy Wonka Dahl hated. He also hated The Witches. He was very picky when it came to film adaptations. He did however like the 1989 BFG and Danny the Champion of the World.
Paul, perhaps the churches are always locked because you get there so early?
The hours upon hours of enjoyment R. Dahl brought not only in my life but my whole family's lifes. Wonderful human being. ❤

Your appreciation of your fellow man and nature is heart warming. Your new microphone is great. Good sound and volume. Thanks so much.
Love these videos Paul!!
The reason why you cannot get into the churches you visit is that they are locked these days to protect against theft and vandalism. The Church I used to go to was open all day for people to visit or light a candle until one day it was broken into damaged and the candle money box stolen.
What a world we live in these days.!!
Thanks Paul that was excellent

Gene wilder was quite simply the best and I’m with you the remake will never compare to the original. Went to Cardiff last year and went to the house he grew up in. Another great video as always Paul 💯👍🏻🥰
Dahl actually hated Wilder’s portrayal of Wonka even though it’s fantastic.

Hi Paul I love reading all his books and watching his films
Another interesting video Paul. We love Roald Dahl’s books in our house. I actually remember when he passed too. We also watch Tales of the Unexpected, they used to freak me out as a kid. I remember hearing that he didn’t like the way Wonka was portrayed in the original film and that he would have preferred the remake as it was darker.
Ronald!?! Jesus Christ.
@@SmallTownNewYorkCityBoy come on now, you know that was auto correct.
Thanks for another interesting Video Paul 👏👍
Fab video Paul. I live in Llandaff North, Cardiff & regularly drive past Roald Dahl's Cumberland Lodge on Cardiff Rd in Llandaff. 😊
