She was absolutely stunning, and so elegant plus her love for animals RIP Alexandra
I know honestly she was such a beautiful 😘
She could have been UK s Farrah Fawcett but in The Champions she dressed like your aunty, not one Bikini shot, side boob shot, mini skirt etc. She was absolutely gorgeous, knocked back Steve McQueen when he was filming in London.
Alexandra Bastedo was the epitome of a fab sixties icon she was drop dead gorgeous and highly intelligent. The complete package.
She was stunningly beautiful. The perfect face, good actress, intelligent, educated, she had it all.
Way back in 1968 as an 18 year old I had the hots for her, as did most young red blooded males watching the champions, what a beautiful woman she was
i grew up in the 60's and loved the champions. it was very popular here in australia.
Beautiful inside and out- her passion and love for animals strikes a chord with me , anyone who loves animals as she did is in my gang! Thanks Alan another lovely video and your comforting words - take care my friend x 🏴
Hi Carol i always think people who love animals are all right thank you sweet Carol
Thank you Alan, and you are right- I've never trusted anyone who doesn't like animals- soulless x
Love animals .Humans dont come close.
@@barbarahalkyard1901yes animals have no malice- I nursed for 30 years and most of my patients would tell me they loved their dog more than their family! I would agree and tell them why that wasn't a terrible thing to say- animals love purely, they don't scam, kill for fun be nasty, you know what I mean - always there 24 /7 never ask for more than your love-respect to them all
I was lucky enough to meet her about 2010.Lovely lady and very elegant.
I didn't know she'd died. I worked on a play she was in in the early 80's. Lovely lady.
Alan, I had forgotten about this beautiful lady until this tribute of yours. So another great choice matey.
Hello David she was a beauty
Thank you Alan. I remember her well from The Champions. She was exceptionally beautiful, but I have heard (from someone who knew her) that she was also a lovely person, no side to her at all. Thank you again, this brought back happy memories of more carefree days.
You and me both. Judith, what lovely days when we were children she was exceptional wasn't she? Such a modest, beautiful woman. She's definitely one of the ones I wanted to marry 😂 I remember excitingly watching the champions when I was about 7 and it made me a little sad when I was there but I'm glad I did it and thank you for the great comment Alan
Judith, it's such a cheap term when people say she had the full package but she really did. She was so caring, so modest, down to earth, and astronomically gorgeous. 😉 Thank you, Judith hug
I loved the champions ❤❤❤
Loved the Champions and their super powers !! Thanks for your sweet rememberence x
i never knew she died she was a beautiful woman thanks 4 this as a kid i always watched the champions
Lovely video.very good actress.
Thank you Allan a lovely tribute to a very beautiful lady
She was truly beautiful, and as a young lad in the 70s I had a crush on her. But it wasn’t just her beauty apparently her personality was just as beautiful too. ❤️🙏🏼
I wasn't aware of her AT ALL ! Nice introduction Alan 😊
Alexandra Bastedo also appeared in Randall and Hopkirk, and cult horror film The Ghoul!! She had the "perfect combination of beauty and Intelligence!! And in addition was a "passionate advocate of Animal welfare!! This cultured renaissance Lady is greatly missed!! RIP Alexandra Bastedo!!!❤❤❤
Thankyou so much for that!!

Alexandra Bastedo was a beautiful lady.I remember watching the Champions too Sorry to hear she passed away far too soon ❤
Thank you Alan, another memorable journey.
Yes Alexandria was a beautiful lady. Her kind voice and simplicity.
Yes I loved the series also.❤️👍🙏🇬🇧
Thanks again for this show, bringing back too life these wonderful actors.
Hello Virginia, it was super special at the time and it's still is watchable. Today It had a great cast and Alexandra provided all the glamour 😀
Can't believe all these famous people from my childhood - all now asleep 😢 Thanks for another lovely video Alan 👍
Hello Alan Anna, exactly what you mean. Best not to think about it. Time seems to pass so quickly. Have a great weekend my friend.Alan
Loved watching the 'champions' real great, beautiful woman.
The one story in The Champions that I always remembered from back then was The Interrogation, where that evil-looking man that was hired by the organisation Craig and the others worked for was given the task of trying to find out how they were able to accomplish all of their missions by imprisoning and interrogating Craig Sterling. The others couldn't help him in case they gave the truth away. That story gave me nightmares as a kid.
Yes, Alexandra was absolutely stunning, I don't know how the other actors managed to focus on their jobs with her around but they were all incredibly professional and very talented actors who put all of that to one side whilst they were in character. I'd be very surprised if there wasn't some flirting going on between Alexandra and the others off-screen though🤣. It's a shame that two of them are now gone, Alexandra and Stuart Damon are both deceased. William Gaunt is currently the last one standing. Cheers for the upload.
Very interesting John. Thank you for the great comment
I remember Alexandra from my preteens in The Champions and even then I knew she was a beautiful woman. I enjoyed The Champions and watched it regularly.
Alan I’ve never heard of this lady but what a stunning girl inside and out … the world is a better place with these people in it thank you for bringing this knowledge ❤
Hi Rowan should we seem to be an extremely level woman when you consider she was very famous at 21 and very beautiful. She seemed to pick the right kind of people and had a nice relationship. Unfortunately a health letter down but thank you. I was great to see you! Alan
Wonderful Lady, so talented ❤
A beautiful woman and I admired her so much especially because of her love of animals, she did not need any cosmetic accessories as she was naturally perfect.
bless you Alexandra ❤❤❤❤
Love her ❤️ another legend gone to soon r.i.p. can you do the late Great marti Caine new face's lady 😮
Beautiful lady very elegant. I remember watching the program when I was young. Beautiful cemetery and surroundings. Thanks for sharing Alan. Love from Holmfirth West Yorkshire 💙💚

Thanks Alan I used to watch the champions. She was a Beautiful lady
She was perfect in the roll Debbie. She brought the glamour for sure
Hello Alan! What a wonderful and poignant video you've made of Alexandra. She truely had a beauty so magnificent that focusing on anything else but her was near impossible.. and, like a good wine, only improved with age. More important than that was what a special person she was. And thanks to you I feel priveledged to have "known" her a little better! On behalf of myself - and all your viewers - thank you so much Alan.
Yes she was very beautiful may she RIP . Thoroughly enjoyed the video thanks 👍👍

She's the best example of beauty in and out. Thank you, Ray
She was an absolute icon of the 60’s starring in The Champions.
Beautiful soul in a beautiful resting place💜 Great video Alan.
Best wishes John
Hello John she was a real life champion and it's great to see you my friend. All the best, Alan
Another great episode and very wise words towards the end I lived jn Hove for a number of years back in the late eighties I didn't realise she was born there rip ❤🙏

Alan that was brilliant and heartfelt, I like you watched Alexandra as a young chat and was captivated by her, very very beautiful, a lovely person she seemed as well, God rest her soul, thanks for the video, Peter.
Yes she was exceptional. She was in my top too beauties from being a kid but she was a really sweet person in real life. They don't come that often. Thank you my friend
Stunning lady absolutely gorgeous..
What a lovely video, Alexandra was beautiful, i remember The Champions airing in i guess 1968 on sunday afternoons after the Big Match on my local tv station Border tv, i loved the programme and still do to this day, shown recently by Talking Pictures TV. ❤❤❤
Hello B Which is your lue, I didn't know that shown it on talking pictures but that's great. Thank you very much Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep The Champions has been on TPTV i think about 3 or 4 times now, i think it's initial first run 9n TPTV was a sunday prime 9.00pm slot the series has been repeated a few more times since at various air times. I'm a huge ITC fan and 60's tv fan. It's what i grew up with, i'll never forget Border tv i guess 1968 advertising "The Champions" on sunday tea times after The Big Match.
Very touching and genuine tribute to a natural beauty.
Hi Alan 😊 I have to admit to never having heard of this lady. I agree she was very beautiful and it seems not only on the outside, but on the inside too. I really admire her dedication to animal welfare and also being vegetarian. It's easier than you think if you ever want to try it for a short time 😁 Thank you for sharing another great video, I do hope you're enjoying your new motorhome. Happy driving, until next time *beep beep*
Hi Karin she was a very lever-leaded and modest lady. I watched the few little interviews about her. Like I said, I even thought she was beautiful when I was a little kid. She kind of radiated it 😀 Thank you for the lovely comments. It's sweet of you. Alan
Hi Karin if you wish to see her in action there are 27 or so episodes of " The Champions" on ITV X. This was my favourite TV lady until Princess Diana came along. Trust me, you will enjoy the episodes if you get them up.
@@raymondmaddocks9832 Raymond, thank you ever so much for telling me You've got my hooked I'm going to log in I watch some of them. I wonder why they didn't put all 30 on the total amount but never mind. I'm much appreciate. Think of me. I will be watching the champions again just like you 👍
@@raymondmaddocks9832 Thanks Raymond, I shall look it up
Such a beautiful girl, taken far to soon, life is so unfair. RIP Alexandra.
Coincidence, I have been watching The Champions lately.
She was a beautiful woman.
Love the video 😊 thank you.
Carol, thank you for your positive and I might watch an episode or two. I tend to do that. I'll watch them after I've made the film. I did it with on the buses and got hooked. Thank you, Alan
Just watching Randall and Hopkirk, would you show us Mike Pratt's grave please. 📺
I met her when i was a receptionist, about 2004
Thank you Alan for such a beautiful and warm video
Thank you John. I really enjoyed doing it. It made me take myself back to a different time. That's part of the enjoyment of reminiscing with these people we knew. All the best, Alan
When i was a child i had an "enormous crush" on her!! That aside i also loved The Champions! And i can still remember a friend of mine making a Champions wallet for me!
Very nice video about a very nice, kind lady. And with a very meaningful message at the end!
Hello Westwood, yes I love doing the videos and I always mean what I say at the end. We should try our best and get things in perspective. Take care my friend
She was amazingly beautiful! I still watch the champions today ❤ I never thought she was born in England but you could see she had a foreign look about her,she was stunning! RiP gbnf 💔
Thanks Alan for this one as Alexandra was my dream lady when I was a kid and I’ve also got the said box set of the Champions. Another great video mate keep up the good work 👏👏👏👍
Hi Psy when I used to watch the program I was only a little boy. I didn't really get the full impact of her appeal. She was special cheers mate, Thomas
Hi Alan great video again. she was a beautiful woman
Alexandra is my top two, most beautiful women and the one I've also had done a film on. That's a clue 😂 Thank you Dave. Take care my mate
A other brilliant video Alan keep them coming 👏.
I will do it only because you've encouraged me. John 😉
Thank you for this.
She was stunning Alexandra ,i too was a avid watcher of the champions as kid with my four brothers. what a beutiful person inside and out.
Wasn't she the prettiest? Thank you Big
Probably the most beautiful woman in the world at one time.
I don't think it's over the top to save the same thing. I agree with you. Thank you Haydon
Nice one Alan. Yea i remember her when i was a teenager in the seventies, like you i thought she was a beautiful woman, very intelligent and a good actress, it was nice to hear she was involved with the rspca and her love for animals. Look forward to the next one
I think we both agree she represents the beautiful inside and out. What a lovely lady. Take care my friend. It's great to see you Alan
I think we would agree James. She was exactly but the cliche beautiful inside and out. You have a great weekend. Thank you my friend
I can’t believe you was just up the road it would of been nice to meet you keep up the good work 👍
Hello Andy, I really didn't know that. Of course if I would have understood I would have been very happy to meet you. Maybe next time my friend
A very fancy ably lady to even younger lads ,she had a beautiful difference RIP x
She was iconic and like Audrey Hepburn chose to do good for their chosen causes. Beautiful woman inside and out. You looked deep in thoughts there Alan more than on any previous ones?! Really appreciate your channel.
Hello John, yes I don't know I had a funny moments while I was filming. I just felt a little bit sad because I remember from being a kid. But that's me. I'm too emotional. But thank you for the lovely coming. Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep we are the same age I think Alan, was always the highlight watching The Campions amongst other great tv shows back then. Some very iconic figures and some incredibly beautiful actresses.
I think you nailed it, Alan, when you said it wasn't just her beauty. It was also her grace, without which I think she would have just been just another very pretty woman.
Absolutely Elizabeth. She really did radiate beauty from all directions
I remember was so nice sunny and bright day a very exceptional film
A lovely quiet location
That was interesting, thank you .😊
I was born in 72 so I was not yet even a cub in this ladies time but nevertheless she was beautiful and its yet another great video from you Alan from your old mate Yogi.
Yoga my favourite bear. I wasn't even a twinkly my dad's eye when you were born, but you're better than the average bear 😜
Thank you, very interesting.
Hi Alan! I don't remember her in particular but I had heard her name which I liked very much. What a lovely lady and maybe I'll try to find some episodes to see if it will jog my memory as it must have been on tv at some point in my parents house for me to remember her name. David Frost was for a short time married to Lynne Frederick who I think was stunning but had the bad rep with money/addiction etc. Life eh? It is what you make it. Years and years ago I went out with a man who looked a bit like Omar Sharif if you squinted at an angle 😁 Thank you Alan, I always look forward to your videos so much.
Hi Donna It's a very old series. A blast from the past. You have to be a certain age to remember I think 🤔 but I do like your selective vision of your previous relationship. Nothing might see in the person in the best light which can be less light where I think of so my previous 😜 I shouldn't be so mean looks are just no skin deep best Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep Exes are exes for a reason, but credit where it's due - we went out with them also for a reason I suppose 😁 I'm 52 next week if that helps but Alaaaaan whatamma gonna doooooooooooo 😂
Young Donna enjoy everyday/moment CU soon :-)@@DonnaGB333
Hi Alan what a tremendous video and I agree with you she was so beautiful and very intelligent being able to speak all those languages thanks again Alan well done
Do you know my friend? Everything? I speak too long when she's fluently English and double Dutch 😜 she really was. I hope you have any good day. Take him I friend. Alan
You are right, she was beautiful 😎I really enjoy watching your videos, and I love the campervan. 😂😂
Hello, Freddy and I really enjoy reading your comments You're correct. The mobile home is lovely. I've always want pne. All the best
I remember Alexandra Bastedo and i must have watched the Champions but don't really remember it. I was 20 when it was first on tv. She had beautiful bone structure. I think that sometimes if a person is nice it makes them even better looking. She sounded lovely. Patrick Garland was a talented man as well. Interesting choice as usual Alan.
Hi Mag that's interesting about our husband. I haven't looked into him but I will do. Thank you he'll give me something to look at and she was gorgeous. But more importantly a great person beneath. Thank you, Alan
Great video Alan, and the wise words at the end were very true. 👍
Hello Mick it's great. We should make the most of every day we have and not let SmartThings ruin it. Take care my friend
Hi Alan, thanks for another great video. I met Alexandra in 2010, and William Gaunt at a film fair in Birmingham. Both were lovely. She also did a foreign horror film, Spanish i think, or Italian called, “The Blood Splattered Bride”.
Well don't Kevin. You got to meet in public. I think they're both were equally good in the champions which was the right at the beginning of their career, but I've never heard of the film he told me about I wonder how successful it was. All the best, Alan
Love your positivity 😊 So true in don’t sweat the small stuff!
She was beautiful .Her graveside looks so lonely tho as tho nobody seems to have missed her much.I can't believe how lucky David Frost had such luck to say to her. HELLO! GOOD MORNING!!! AND WELLCOME!
I like that Paul He was indeed privilege I bet they made an interesting couple at the time
I loved her and enjoyed this post about her life.
hi i used to love watching the champions it was a great show .
Hi Alan wondered where you were used to watch the champions when I was younger I was in love with William gaunt loved the program they were powerful together and yes this’ lady was so beautiful just georgeous such a shame thankyou Alan take care 💕😊😊
Hello Crystal it was a magical program of it's time. Literally. I'm going to watch some now and so it stands up. Thank you for the great review Alan
Hello Crystal it was a magical program of it's time. Literally. I'm going to watch some now and so it stands up. Thank you for the great review Alan
Hello Crystal it was a magical program of it's time. Literally. I'm going to watch some now and so it stands up. Thank you for the great review Alan
Had a crush on her beautiful, loved the champions
Hi Alan another great one. Being a similar age your presentations ( I know it’s not the correct term nowadays) remind me of times gone when live was uncomplicated. She was indeed a beautiful women. Thanks for your interesting background information and presentation 😎
Hi CFP fancy that we're both pushing 35 😜 one of the things that's missing to some degree in today's world is true face to face relationships and communication and respects. I thank you ever so much cuz I really do love doing the films and I'm so pleased to other people like watching them and it brings back then is for them. All the best Alan
Lovely video. Those who understand loss will understand.
great video Alan, always like to see you in Sussex
Hello John I will be coming there for sure all the best mate
The late great Alexandra
Another really great video alan i really enjoy your vids 👍💚💛💙
Super nice of you Carol. All the best, Alan
Rip❤
To be honest I had never heard of her ( never watched the Champions )🤐 ...she was beautiful.... Lovely tribute Alan
I know Debbie. It's an old program. You must be a young one but it was popular and still shows now and again. Thank you. Alan
Hi Alan,
Great to catch up with you. Yet another great vlog, Alexander was an incredibly beautiful lady. I had no idea she'd died, so sad may she Rip🙏...
I know Mary. It was a little bit sad but she had a good life
She also played Helene, who turned out to be the Goddess Aphrodite in BBC's The Aphrodite Inheritance. Perfect casting if you ask me.
Unbelievably Batman I agree with you. She would have been perfect. I've never heard of that one. Thank you
What an absolutely beautiful lady she was Alan. Stunning looks but the thing I admire and love her for most was her caring towards animals. I love all animals and think so very highly of anyone who goes out of their way to help them and care about them. I have been a vegetarian for a few years now (partly because I don't really enjoy meat and mostly because of my love of animals). I don't miss it at all, but my husband would probably leave home if I stopped him eating meat. Live and let live, we all have our different opinions and if we don't hurt anyone else (including animals) it doesn't really matter. Again, Alan another good one and i really enjoyed it. Thank you.
Thank you for your video
She was with Mike Tomkes (the wilderness man) who my family knew very well
