Yay! Stewart is adding more comments and we can hear him!! We all want a BFF like Stewart! Love the Wednesday working walkabout… well done! From Maple Ridge, BC Zone 7b
Your new book is definitely above my expectations. We’ll be reading it for quite awhile. My husband and I enjoy your UA-cam Chanel every week. We are both 82 and he does most of the gardening because I’m disabled. Keep up the great work!!!
Your book has exceeded my already high expectations! You are a gifted writer and your words sculpt yet another Linda Vater creation. You are a treasure, thank you for sharing your gifts and blessings.
Linda, I am enjoying your book immenselY! I know it will be an invaluable resource for years to come. Your opening story about your secret childhood pumpkin friend touched my heart! Thanks for opening your garden and heart to us!
I received your beautiful book from Amazon Canada today. I hear your voice as I am reading through the first pages. You changed the way I look at my garden and helped me make well needed changes. Stewart did a wonderful job capturing the beauty and essence of your garden. Thank you to you both for such a book I will cherish and enjoy for years to come.
I really appreciate Stewart's camera work. I'm sensitive to videos that move too quickly and it takes the enjoyment away for me. He's the best, so thanks for that! Beautiful garden once again.
Arrived yesterday!!! I shouted to the world that my Jewel had arrived. I am beyond excited!!! As if I needed another reason to be more of a Linda Vater fan girl, this book “The Elegant& Edible Garden”will sooth the SOUL. If you’re into flowers, she needs zero introduction. If you’re not, just take one peak at her work, and don’t be surprised if you’re suddenly ordering and planting flowers, everywhere. My glowing admiration is not only for this beautiful book, but also for the possibility she brings to small growers…. Like us!!!! Loving that Stewart is playing a larger roll in the Vater adventure.
Everything is looking so nice, Linda. Spring is such a wonderful time when things start to pop up and fill in after the winter dreariness. A suggestion when you go out not intending to pull weeds….pop a plastic bag or two into your pocket. Then when you inevitably see some weeds that need to come out you can just pull out a bag and pop them in. The bags we get in the stores have handles….easy to just slip your wrist through the holes….or since you often wear a belt, you could just slip it on your belt and have both hands free. Not a fashion statement, for sure, but you won’t have to leave the nasty weeds here and there.
Loved todays working-walk-about! Your garden looks amazing! Here in zone 6, my yarrow has not even started coming thru the soil, so that tells you how cold we still have it ....with possible frost looming ..... AGAIN.... and a chance of snow flurries! Yikes! Especially love your perpetual window box! Im sure the size of it is a plus for being able to constantly add to the mix!
You look very Santa Fe today Linda. We've had wind here in way Norcal & some showers. Lots of rosebuds waiting to bloom right on time in late April. I've always loved pansies' little happy faces.
Hi Linda & Stuart🙋🏽♀️ My book just arrived from Amazon and I can’t wait to devour every page. The pics are so beautiful! I know this will be a valuable gardening resource for many many years to come. Congrats on the success of your first book! So excited for you!
I received my book yesterday!! It is so beautiful!! I skimmed thru it, to look at all the beautiful pictures. WOW, what a great job. You are so talented and creative.
I preordered you stunning book in August and it arrived yesterday! I couldn’t get the box opened fast enough! I went through it read a lot and skipped through as well! I will read it cover to cover as soon as I have some time! The pictures are all gorgeous! There is so much wonderful information in it I am truly amazed! Stewart did a phenomenal job you both should be very proud! I am excited to sit in my garden and read this beautiful book! ❤️
I jumped for joy when it was delivered!! I preordered fromAmazon .. so thrilled! It is an exquisite book! The cover, the photos, text.. everything is just beautiful! I expected no less from you!! This will be a permanent part of my gardening library.. thank you for such a gorgeous book, and your videos.. always ALWAYS a wonderful part of my day.. I’m from PA and I feel like your neighbor.. my friend!!
Yesterday was my long awaited day-your book arrived! I couldn’t be more pleased. You have such a friendly, approachable way of sharing your gardening knowledge. Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into your book. I have started reading it and am devouring each morsel on every page. Everything about your book far exceeds my greatest expectations.
I got mine today and am loving it! The only bad thing is that I spent the day reading it instead of getting anything done. Beautifully written and I love all of the photos.
So happy. I ordered my book months ago...and it arrived yesterday afternoon. I love it. I had just finished 3 days of hard garden clean up and sniffing up. I was dusty, covered with oak pollen tired and finally headed fir the shower when the Amazon truck appeared. I opened the bow, and took the book right out to the back garden and read it cover to cover before I even thought about that much needed shower again. It's exactly what I needed to remotivate my self for today. Of course you kept the pumpkin see in place. I read about it in your book. And loved the story.
Hey Linda. Lovely to hear the banter between you and Stewart 😊 And your garden is looking spectacular. Nothing much doing up here in Burlington Ontario (zone 6B). West facing neighbours have their daffodils in full bloom but ours are just budding. Wanted to say columbines are basically a weed in our area. We moved in 15 years ago and I am still pulling the ones the previous owners planted out back - even showing up in our front beds and our next door neighbour's garden. Eeek. Hate those things.
I got the book! Well worth the wait and cost. I am half way through My first ‘go thru’. Photography is wonderful. I’m a long time gardener and have already picked up some tips and info for my new home’s future gardens. Moved from Dallas to far east Tennessee at the foot of the mountains. SO many more choices here!!!!
I received my Linda Vader book on Tuesday. I preordered many months ago. It is pure gardeners eye candy. I love it. I had to force myself to put it down and get my chores completed. Thank you again for your inspiration. By the way, I’m in zone 7 Lubbock,Texas.
I received the book today and it’s stunning. I am resisting the urge to flip through it- I want to devour each page!! Thank you for the dedication too. It made me smile!
Yes, Linda I gave you a wonderful 5 star review as the book is a very beautiful and is a very special book and I am ordering more for gifts for my sweet friends as well as for my garden club!
Love love love the book! It’s obvious how much time, effort and love you put into it for all of us to learn from and just enjoy! Thrilled that there are so many beautiful pictures of your ( and others’) gardens! Thankful for your UA-cam channel and your book! Also, love your fashion epilogues! Your garden inspired life, decorating and fashion styles are truly inspiring! congratulations and cheers!
Good morning Linda & Stuart from Zone 9b, Terrytown, LA. I have not purchased your book but requested it for Mother’s Day. I love your succession planting idea. Thank you for sharing your beautiful, color filled garden. I planted a Meyer Lemon tree & received my Foxglove from Roberta’s. They didn’t look like much; I hope they make it and/or I don’t kill it.
YES!! And YES!! I have your book. Love everything about it. Thanks for the reminder to write a review. I will definitely do that. I also shared your links on my IG account. Reminding those reading comments to do the same. So happy for you!!
Love, love, love my book! Thank you for writing it; thank you, Stewart, for the beautiful photography. I am so happy with it! It will provide many happy hours of enjoyment.
Linda would you consider writing a book on how you decorated the inside of your home by the seasons. It was such a joy when you toured you home and decorated the inside such as NewYear, Valentine’s, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Are how you entertain like dinner parties etc. I would sure purchase one. Love, love you Garden book. I stayed up late and read it through. Thanks for sharing you knowledge. You’re a joy to watch. P.S… your lovely enough to be a model. Hi to Stewart
I have pre-saled your book via Amazon and just received message that it will be shipping and can not wait!!!! Love your front porch, love those topiaries........ Happy Easter to you Linda and family!!! Yesterday was so warm here in NE Ohio 78 and today rain and cool 50's
Thank you! This was my favourite video of yours. I love to see the little jobs that you do daily. It is full of great information about maintenance and succession planting. I had to google what a weed eater was. We call them whipper snippers in Australia! I have just planted 3 pots of purple pansies for my porch, and even though we are in autumn this is the perfect time for them in Melbourne!
Hi Linda and Stewart, I received my book yesterday, the elegant & edible garden from Amazon. I can’t wait to sit down this coming weekend and read it with a nice cup of tea.
Excited to receive your book. Congratulations on such a beautifully written and photographed book. I will be savoring it and will have to pace myself-there’s such a temptation to drop everything else.
I just ordered your book on QVC. Looking forward to receiving. I also ordered a giraffe. We actually need 3 which we will probably order. I watch you and Stewart all the time. Enjoy very much. I retired from nursing10 months ago and I'm learning from you. We are in South Carolina zone 8b.
Linda, I just love your garden! I think it is prettier than ever. My plants are finally comming into there stride now. I need to get out there and put more into the landscape. My Azalias are also some of my favorite. I am concentrated on decorating my porch first. It is really getting georgious. I hope to get my garden full like yours this year. The freeze and my health problem set me back but I will get there this year!! You incourage me!!!😊 Texas 9
Love your walkabouts, so delightful to watch and reminds me what I need to get done in my garden each day, especially weeding. Stewart does a great job in all your shoots and prefers to be a silent participant and that’s quite fine too.
I received your book yesterday. Today was rainy here in Arkansas so I was inside reading your book. I find it very delightful and refreshing. I started watching you on UA-cam a few weeks ago and I have learned a lot. You are very enjoyable to watch. I will definitely give you a great review on Amazon. Thanks for sharing your garden with us.
Great video and lots of info. I garden in 10A, Southeast Florida. The wind has been awful this spring also. Blowing over pots and drying plants out more than normal. My second basket was just delivered from QVC and I am actually going to use this one for my weeding vessel. I love hearing Stuart. I can certainly understand his wanting to be only behind the camera but hearing him is great. And he is funny!
Great episode. I enjoy seeing how others go about their daily task within their gardening spaces. Though gardening, in general, is quite therapeutic, to me, the act of pulling weeds, trimming outliers, etc., is immensely gratifying, and as mentioned, it informs my immediate and future focus. Thanks for the work and effort that goes into publishing each episode, and hats off to the cinema photographer. Cheers,
I agree!! I spent several hours in my back yard doing just that. Weeding and pruning/deadheading. It was very satisfying. Linda, the yard looks beautiful. Not so long ago it was pretty barren. Love seeing the spring color popping up.
Hi Linda! Yes I received your book yesterday. I had pre-ordered it months ago. I was so excited to receive it. I think it’s a beautiful book, and I don’t know what to really expect but it’s absolutely lovely. I’m reading it on my back porch now that the weather has finally warmed up enough! I feel like I can hear your voice as I read it. It must be so gratifying after all your hard work. Congratulations!
I really appreciate the amount of detail in this video. As a newbie I really need to know the basics and this was extremely helpful to understand your thought process why you do it and get to actually see how it is done! Many thanks!
I got my book a while back and yes it does indeed live up to everything i want in a garden book, i cannot put it down i reach for it every day honestly it is the loveliest garden book i have bought, absolute credit for such an inspiring and usefull book, thankyou xxx
Just received my copy of your book yesterday! looked at the photos first they are breathtaking!! can't wait to sit down and start devouring the print.. Good job Linda!! Janet Denton Plano Texas
I received the book in the mail yesterday, I had pre-ordered from Amazon. It is a beautiful and very informative book. Lovely book, I hope you keep writing... and Stuart keeps shooting photos. I have some very short video clips from Portland, Oregon on my channel, including the surprise April snow we received yesterday. I have been watching your channel for a few years now, it is surprising how alike our weather patterns are. My red bud tree is starting to bloom now.
Your book arrived yesterday from Amazon and it is beautiful! The photography is amazing, thank you, Stewart! I can’t wait to have sometime to sit down and read! Thank you Linda! I’ve learned so much about topiaries from your videos! ❤️
I received my copy a couple days ago & I am not disappointed. It is so well written Linda & the photos are beautiful...I cant put it down! Thank you! ❤
There are not a lot of youtube videos that I can watch without them sparking my vertigo but Stewart's work is great! I was thinking that the plastic containers for the plants you showed today can also be re-purposed to grow sweat peas (if they can stand upward, or coaxed to do so). Sweat peas hate root disturbance. Might work?
Thank you so much for the timely information on how to keep eugenia or any tall topiary from tipping over by the wind. I don't know why I didn't think of that either because I have to plunge my plumeria plants in the ground every spring after wintering over in my basement. I love your channel and especially your bantering with Stewart. Keep up the great work!
YES, i HAVE MY COPY! i TOLD YOU ON MY PHONE ALREADY. TOOK IT TO WORK WITH ME AND HAD TO PUT IT DOWN BECAUSE IT WAS SO EASILY INTERESTING RIGHT OFF THE FIRST PAGE , THAT i KNOW i WOULD HAVE READ IT THE WHOLE TIME!tHANK YOU FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL BOOK
I got your book yesterday! I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but the photographs are beautiful! I am so excited to start reading it and learning more from you!
I pre-ordered your book from Indigo but it has yet to arrive. I’m in Canada, so perhaps we’ll receive ours a little later. I did receive your signed bookplate, which I will treasure. It’s so wonderful to see how well received your book has been - huge congratulations to you and Stewart! 🥳👏💚
My book arrived 2 days ago! Was not expecting it until next week. When the box came I thought it was for my daughter and I did not even look at the name. When she got home from work she asked me what I had ordered. When I realized it was my book I was mad at myself because I could have been enjoying it much earlier! And enjoying it I am! Quite well done and informative. The pictures are lovely and the content has a sweet and personable storyline. Like your videos, it feels like you are just talking to me. Your thought and hard work in creating this book is evident in every page. Thank you for sharing your gardening gift with us. Another Linda in NC (Linda McPherson)
My book arrived yesterday afternoon and I've read more than half of it ,already. Love it. Your writing is marvelous and the photos fabulous. Love the layout.I am sure I will read it over and over. Very inspirational.
Will be ordering your book next week!! Zone 7b love Coleus, seed them every December under grow lights. Have learned so much from you ☺️! Thank you so much.
Thank you for giving me permission to sheer tops of my sedum. My lemon coral sedum is blooming and I used my Stihl trimmer to cut off the blooms. Then I second guessed myself and didn’t cut any more. Tomorrow….off with their heads!
Top Heavy Tip Over Prevention: through two holes in bottom of pot, shove either rebar through pot, dirt, and then into soil OR buy Tractor Supply Company, "CountyLine Fiberglass Rod Post, 3/8 in. x 4 ft" cut in half. Those rods are handy handy handy!
Hi Linda and Stuart, I just received your book from Amazon. I'm so excited to start reading it. I have been waiting for months and was delighted to see all the beautiful pictures. What an inspiration. Thank you and Congratulations! Donna Ratzlaff
If I could, I SO would. I'm the only bread winner of my family of 5 right now (raising my 5 year old grandson since birth), and I just can't right now. 😥 As soon as I can though, I will!! That day will come, just need to keep hanging on, it will come! Congratulations! I'm sure it'll sell out in no time, just like all the other products you've been apart of lately!! Can't wait to see it myself though!! ❤️
Ha!🤣 Linda! Love the description of the type of seasons in Oklahoma! Before the heat and after the heat! This is hilarious and this is how I feel here in Texas! 🤣
I just started watching your videos yesterday. I live more se of city in country. Need more ideas for more windy and part shade planting from seeds in raised flower bed with clay underneath. Southwest of city.
@@walternicolas1734 Doing great today. Got the first of propagated roses we are doing. I am using cinnamon on a damp paper towel, wrapped around the roots, potting mix with some gravel to help with drainage. Won’t get blooms this year but wow, next year is going to be awesome. I enjoy your videos. Adapted to the long skinny shovel and handy homemade hatchet for breaking up this hard red clay. Made a big difference. Although with not the usual rains I still have to keep soaking soil to break it up. But all in all myself and my best friend who encouraged me to start my little own flower garden last year. Almost June then. We’re just proud we are getting seeds sown right in ground and container ideas just expanding. Thank You 🙏
@@walternicolas1734 Oklahoma. About 75 miles sw of OKC. Man this wind has beat me down finally after 3 days in it. Today we were having 40-50mph gusts. Just called it quits and will probably do my morning watering and tend my chickens and back inside for a day of rest. Every muscle I have is just in pain. Lol. After winter. Have to rebuild. Lol. Where are you from again?
Linda I love your book. Yes, Stewart did an amazing job capturing the true essence of the beautiful world you have created. Your book far exceeded my expectations. There is so much information tucked between the pages. I can’t wait for Book II. HELLO STEWART. Happy Easter everyone.
I love those little plugs. Wind from Hurricane Florence leaned an old huge holly to the west. The area opened beneath is now a shade garden opportunity. The roots are massive so I can only plant tiny root balls.
Hi Linda, thank you for yet another wonderful video. I also want to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed reading your topiary article in the Garden Gate magazine. It's so informative and I am not ready to go and get some specimens to create my own. I am for sure going to hop over to Amazon after I finish writing this to purchase a copy of your book. Brava to you for all of you! I'm learning so much from you via your videos, magazine articles and I am sure I will learn even more from your book! Greetings.

Always enjoying seeing Linda into gardening creating lovely cozy garden themes.
Everything looks so pretty! Thanks to Stewart for miking up, it’s very much appreciated! Happy Easter to all!🐣🐇🐥🐰
“Physician of my own Garden.”
I love that… ( sounds like your next book title). So glad I found you!

I feel like I can hear your voice as I read it. It must be so gratifying after all your hard work. Congratulations!
Got my book yesterday. The bookplate is in place! Thank you Linda

🙏🙏🙏
I am thrilled that I received your book and Claus’ book this week! Beautiful! 🌺
I was so excited to get your book! I pre-ordered and hadn't kept up with date it was shipped so I was pleasantly surprised yesterday. Beautiful book!
Thankyou Linda, loved your poncho. Blessings to you and yours Ontario Canada 🐝
I received my copy a couple days ago & I am not disappointed. It is so well written Linda & the photos are beautiful...I cant put it down! Thank you! ❤
Thank you dear!
Might work?
I think so!

Thank you!
I have loved having your book. Easy to read. Good information and a lot of heart in the book
Thank you for your very kind words
My book arrived yesterday afternoon and I've read more than half of it ,already. Love it. Your writing is marvelous and the photos fabulous. Love the layout.I am sure I will read it over and over. Very inspirational.
Will be ordering your book next week!! Zone 7b love Coleus, seed them every December under grow lights. Have learned so much from you ☺️! Thank you so much.
Hurrah!
Great walkabout today! It’s looking beautiful! I love your hat too!
Still cold and extremely windy in Colorado. Can’t wait to read your book.
Hi zone 5b and just received my new book yesterday! I was so excited to open the box 📦! Beautifully done. Thank you Linda! 💐
Hi Linda and Stuart,
I just received your book from Amazon. I'm so excited to start reading it. I have been waiting for months and was delighted to see all the beautiful pictures. What an inspiration.
Thank you and Congratulations!
Donna Ratzlaff
Thank you!
I can’t wait to see the next blooms that you pointed out throughout the garden!
Have you considered requesting it at your local library? Awesome free resource 😏 Others could benefit from your request too.
Excellent suggestion! I know a number of people have requested it from there library
@@chelseajones4141 You're right! I should! Great suggestion! Thank you! I'll be contacting them tomorrow! ❤️
Ha!🤣 Linda! Love the description of the type of seasons in Oklahoma! Before the heat and after the heat! This is hilarious and this is how I feel here in Texas! 🤣
Yes!
Linda, I got my book today. So excited!!!!!
Beautiful garden Linda, we have a Bradford Pear tree we love it.
I got my book and I love it. I'm SO SO happy!
Your book arrived 2 days ago and it is sitting on my bedside table, looks amazing! ❣
Hi Linda! I bought a copy of your book during your live talk a couple weeks back. Website says the book will be shipped April 23rd, and I can't wait!!
I received my book today!! I love it!! I love all of the pictures and can't wait to read it from beginning to the end!!
Thank you!
See that you had a basket with you for your walkabout for the weeds!!!! Have a great day.
Yup!!
Inter library loaned your book until our library gets our copy! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Received your book and looked through it briefly. Lovely. Can’t wait to sit and read it.
I did receive your book yesterday haven't dug in yet😊
I got my copy. It is beautiful. I love the pumpkin story. I am savoring it. Congratulations.
I so understand
Hi Linda, thank you for yet another wonderful video. I also want to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed reading your topiary article in the Garden Gate magazine. It's so informative and I am not ready to go and get some specimens to create my own. I am for sure going to hop over to Amazon after I finish writing this to purchase a copy of your book. Brava to you for all of you! I'm learning so much from you via your videos, magazine articles and I am sure I will learn even more from your book! Greetings.
Thank you dear!
