Linda, I just wanted to thank you for the immense enjoyment I get from watching your videos! Your gardens, your fairytale cottage and moreover YOU are all sorts of lovely !! 🍄💕
If your window box looks wild/less structured, I think we can not only accommodate but applaud your artistic expression reminding us that change and taking a chance can be an exciting and joyful learning experience. Who knows what next season may bring. Kudos!
I just loved this walk about!!!! It was full of such helpful knowledge about gardening that helps make me a smarter gardener in my yard. I am so dang happy for you and your garden and I reap all the joy and happiness thru your videos. [Thank You Stewart, you are the best].
Hi Linda! Everything is looking so beautiful. I noticed that you have uplighting in the center of your new trees. Would you and Stewart be willing to do an evening garden stroll for us so we can experience the magic of the nighttime garden, the lighting, etc.? :) Would be interested in learning more about the type of lights you have!
I, also, thought that the tan umbrella did not look as good as it should in the front of your home. When you showed that you had changed the color of your umbrella to darker gray, I was so happy! It looks wonderful!
What I like so much is how you inspire us to really appreciate plants and design, and that you give us such interesting facts and ways of looking at things. Thank you
The walk about was great today. Everything has changed so much- the grass, roses, and all the plants. You are truly amazing. I can’t wait to see the your post on Wednesday and Sunday. I am glad to see the gray umbrella. I bet it now blends into the roof and house and you only see the yard. I hope Stuart will give a street view of all sides of the yard. I hope you are enjoying your visit with your son. thanks again for great tips.
Linda, Thanks so much for naming all these plants. It helps as a starting point for me to learn about colors, growth habits, and how to compose a well-designed space. I’ve got a long list now to research & consider. Very helpful! -Linda, Southern Oregon Zone 8a & b
It's amazing how happy all the plants look in your new garden. Your vision is taking shape so quickly. And, I appreciate your cottage-style window box. There's nothing cookie cutter about it, and it's the perfect window dressing for your adorable cottage.
Linda your darling shoes are blooming such a cute color hope they are as comfortable as they look great job Thank you and Stewart for all of your attention to detail
Loved this walk about. I would like to see a drive by shot, from both directions, along the side and across the front, to get an idea of what your neighbors are experiencing as they pass by in their cars. 😊
You are awesome in listening to comments with such an open mind!!!! So love the tips you just offered especially on pruning to create different looks!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND IT ALL LOOKS SO WONDERFUL!!! THANKS SO MUCH LINDA AND STEWART FOR YOUR CONTINUAL VIDEOS!!!❤❤❤❤
Loved seeing the weeding and propagating! I also have squirrel moments in the garden, where I start one task and keep moving on to others. Especially with weeding. It usually happens when going back and forth to the garage for different gardening tools, so I pack a bag with all different ones so I can avoid the back and forth.
The common name is easier for me to remember. My oh my, what a lovely day and colorful front landscape....it seems to be loving the placement, good job Linda!
I would always use the botanical name (generally I think we do that more in the UK) as there is less room for error. Common names are different depending on the country you are in. The botanical name sometimes gives you a clue about the plant as well. Your garden is looking fabulous.
Your cottage garden just looks wonderful Linda! Can’t believe the progress. You always share such great ideas too. I’m not familiar with feverfew. Gonna check it out! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and inspiration! 🌸💐🌸
Oh my goodness, I made the same mistake, I bought a tan umbrella and it's just not right. When it's open it even looks a little yellow so now I have to either keep an umbrella I don't like or buy a grey one I know I'll like better. Unfortunately it's too late to return. 😏 So, now that I see how awesome your grey one looks, I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and spend the money for a grey one I know I'll love. Oh well.... Your yard is looking beautiful Linda! It's amazing how much you've accomplished in such a short time!
I love my little mini outdoor shed. It’s so handy to hold all my garden tools. I used to have to run up and down into my basement through the Bilco doors to get my garden tools etc.
Hello from Squamish, BC Canada. I'm just loving what you have done with your new garden and you are such an inspiration. I watch you every morning before I head out to the garden, because then I feel inspired to try new things
Love the grey umbrella I was not one to have or voice a previous opinion about the tan😀 But now seeing the grey….much better👍 Linda, Your garden is looking fabulous!
Your front garden is filling in so beautifully! Thank you for the great tips on creating new plants and expanding coverage with snippets of existing plants. I like the new umbrella color much better; wise decision and a bonus that you can use the other one in the backyard. I find common names easier to remember; however, since I’m concentrating on native plants, I do also use the botanical as it’s important when purchasing natives to be specific. Wednesday’s walk-about was great fun!
Things are looking amazing in such a short time, Linda. Nature gave you some good rain when you needed it most. There’s just nothing like spring showers to get plants off to a good start. If ever you were going to have an unusually rainy spring this was the perfect year for it. 😊💖🦋🕊
I really love the Wednesday walkabout. It just is so refreshing to see how beautiful your garden is growing. I’m not really a gardener but I do love beautiful flowers I recently planted 10 or 11 planters so far so good. L O L love the new umbrella and we all love you & Stewart…sending hugs, prayers, kindness, and positive thoughts🌸🩷🩵🌸
Linda, your garden 🪴 loves, you, it provides you food, relaxation, beauty, exercise, joy and peace, creativity, good healthy work, 🌞 sunshine, entertainment, fun and love 💕, we love you Linda, the inspiration is so very wonderful for me and all of us. Thank you 🙏 Linda for your sharing your ideas, you help make my day more happier and joyful!!!!!!
Linda, you are a breath of fresh air! Your excitement for the rapidly developing garden is palpable. It’s looking lovely as beautifully filmed by the ever skilful Stewart. Love your garden tips and ideas. Common plant names are fun, like aquilegias known as Granny’s Bonnets. Sometimes after I have learnt a botanical name, they reclassify it with something unpronounceable!🍀🌸❤
My umbrella base on wheels that you recommended arrived yesterday, and I'm thrilled with it! Coupled with a new umbrellas that tilts, I'm able to easily move the umbrella for morning through afternoon shade. Summer outdoor game changer. Thanks from zone 6a CT.
I loved Family Circus too. I will head upstairs to get something, and by the time I get up there I’ve forgotten what I went up there for. Beautiful garden!
I just watched this after having a ‘oh I’ll just do that’ morning in the garden. Lots of little jobs that you see while doing other projects and don’t have time for. It’s quite satisfying to get them all done so as not to distract from the job in hand. 😁❤️😎🇫🇷
I like your color palette, it’s coming together very nicely. You southern gardeners are lucky to have so many chartreuse shrubs to choose from. In Zone 5 we have annuals such as coleus and sweet potato vine but no shrubs of that lovely color.
Definitely the common name, the botanical name is too big for my memory. 😂 I’ve never heard of service berry. I’ll be looking this one up. So much you teach us. I thank you
Oh my gosh Linda, I am the same way , I go out to do one thing and end up doingimg a dozen other. It is amazing how the hours fly working in the garden ! Cannot believe how nice the grass looks ! We are so dry here in sw Pa. With no rain in sight. Your gardens look beautiful !! Enjoyed this video as usual !
I am so glad you change the umbrella! I did not like the color of the other one in your garden but did not say anything because I thought it would be rude. But the gray goes perfectly. Also I always use the common name for plants because I remember it easier. And I was out in my garden today. I got a great deal on Kimberly ferns at Walmart that were almost dead. I asked and the manager mark them down to four dollars! I came home and split them and instead of two ferns I now have five. Which I love to scatter ferns in pots around under trees were there’s too many roots to grow plants. They quickly fill in a dead spot.
Some very pale blue hydrangeas would look really nice along with white hydrangeas . Having the very pale blue in proximity to the red brick would add additional visual interest.
Thank you ! So many teachable moments. The tip about pruning to create a downhill flow is one I am going to do tomorrow. (If it stops raining. Not complain big. Praise the Lord we always need the moisture in Amarillo.)😅
Such a beautiful garden in such a short time I suspect due to your care and attention I have learned quite a lot about plant care from your walkabouts thank you ❤
Your creativity is stunning. Love everything and your moments of sharing are like inviting your viewers in . Thank you for the special friendly way you always are.
Love the front garden!! Everything is really filling in too. Loved the tip on pruning to thicken up the plants also. I too have done the same to my succulents and started new ones 😊
Ajuga is a great ground cover. The blooms in spring are pretty. I like the ajuga with a purple look. Can take the sun. I love the wire plant but here the sun is very hot. I put in partial sun. The garden is looking lovely. Thank you for your demonstration. We love you Linda & Stewart too.
I love using dusty miller in floral arrangements. And they do root so you can spread them around in pots or in the ground. Everything is looking beautiful! I need to get outside and prune my boxwoods!
Hi Linda! You have some very pretty plants and plant combos. I was wondering though, why you don't have a designated path through them. As the plants grow, it's going to be harder and harder for you to step around in them. Also, visitors are limited to only seeing the garden from the central walkway, sidewalk or street. One of my favorite things to do in my garden is to walk the paths looking at everything. And, when my neighbor's grand daughters visited, they loved walking through the garden that way too. Anyway, it's just a thought.
I agree. I think a path on both sides would be nice so you can stroll and look at all the pretty plants. That would require moving some plants now though.
.....I think Linda was going to add more stepping stones but just hasn't had the chance to acquire more. At least that is what she stated about late April....As she didn't want o compact the soil. She mentioned she had several speaking engagments then her sons came to visit for Mothers Day and she was rushing to put dome order into her backyard for their visit. I wait like you to see her stone path completed soon.
Yes I was wondering about that too. Guests would better able to enjoy the plantings if they could walk through the gardens by talking a stroll through Linda’s magnificent gardens! 🥰
Thank you Linda for sharing your gardening skills and your beautiful garden. You have created a masterpiece, just like a magnificent painting or tapestry. I am so inspired by your use of colour through your use of shrubs and bushes that I am going to design a similar area in my garden here in subtropical Australia. Have you been to Australia?🐨 I have heard you mention that your son? I think, lived here. I really like the way that you plant seeds directly in your garden. I have always planted hardy annuals that way, but after seeing your seedlings come up I will be more adventurous! 🦜🐧🌺🌻🌴🍁
Linda. The cottage garden looks so beautiful and the hydrangeas are so lovely!. So nice. Your garden has come along so nicely. Love how everything looks so beautiful!
OMG!!! LOVIN' the progress of your new garden!! AMAzing, starting from a blank slate. Quick question: how can you tell a new seedling from a (possible) weed??? Look forward to EACH and EVERY video you share with us, Linda!!! Thank you Stewart, for your comments, your chuckles, and your FABulous videography!!!
I am SO EXCITED to watch this video! This has been a topic i have been talking about lately. And just Monday evening my brother called me & he was telling me a good ground cover helps against weeds.
Hi Linda, Wow! If I hadn't been following along I would never have believed how this garden evolved!!! Love how the planters look on the lower front steps. What a great idea with the leggy Lantana! Who knew!! (LOL) Yes, the gray umbrella looks so much better! It is easier for me to remember the common name of plants. Stewart, you do such a great job of following Linda! (LOL) Have a great day and I will see you in the next one! Hugs! :)
I enjoy watching you propagate new plants with cuttings from your existing plants. I have a pair of trusty Betty Crocker scissors too. The come in very handy for snipping and digging a new hole. Your plants are growing beautifully.
I missed seeing the backyard progress but to answer your question; I always use the common name of plants. I also like ajuga and have been adding it to my front garden. Your front yard is looking great!
I have a five year journal (inspired by the one you kept). I have two more years left of the five. It is so wonderful to look back on last years to see what bloomed earlier or later, when I plant something, rainfall amounts, etc.
You're a wealth of information. You have inspired me to add flowers in containers and dig a small flower bed. I had two huge mulberry trees in my front yard, and they were very diseased and died. I was heartbroken, and my yard looked so bare and sad. My mulberry trees in my backyard died also. I have to start all over and landscape my backyard. I guess I have my work cut out for me.
As of typing this,it is less than 4 hours until June, and you are already harvesting blueberries?? Is that typical for Oklahoma? I am blown away by this. True testimony to the elegant edible garden. Bravo!
You are a treasure to come home to after a long stressful day at work. May you never stop 🙏
Thanks Linda! This is like watching a gorgeous Master Class🤩
Linda, I just wanted to thank you for the immense enjoyment I get from watching your videos! Your gardens, your fairytale cottage and moreover YOU are all sorts of lovely !! 🍄💕
The dark umbrella looks SO much better. Blends in perfectly and doesn’t stand out. Lovely!
I loved every minute of this Wednesday walkabout everything is looking fabulous. Great idea with the gray umbrella looks 100% better.
If your window box looks wild/less structured, I think we can not only accommodate but applaud your artistic expression reminding us that change and taking a chance can be an exciting and joyful learning experience. Who knows what next season may bring. Kudos!
The gray unbreakable made a remarkable change. Lovet it.
I just loved this walk about!!!! It was full of such helpful knowledge about gardening that helps make me a smarter gardener in my yard. I am so dang happy for you and your garden and I reap all the joy and happiness thru your videos. [Thank You Stewart, you are the best].
I love ajuga! It grows so well and you can split it up! I started with it in the ground, then decided to put it in a large pot. What a show stopper!!❤
What a great idea! 😊
Good idea
Yes! Please 🙏🏻
I learn something new every time I watch! Garden is beautiful… 🌺
I, also, thought that the tan umbrella did not look as good as it should in the front of your home. When you showed that you had changed the color of your umbrella to darker gray, I was so happy! It looks wonderful!
The garden is breathtaking!
Love the color of the new umbrella. A great classy improvement!
I like your gray umbrella color choice. Sturdy, yet easy to move.
Nice shed. Can't wait to see it after you paint it!!!
Those little boxwood basil plants are so adorable.
What I like so much is how you inspire us to really appreciate plants and design, and that you give us such interesting facts and ways of looking at things. Thank you

I can't believe how quickly things have grown and filled out! It's really looking nice.
Awwww…the tiny boxwood basil..so sweet!

I love watching these type of videos because I also live in OK in a city near you and it gives me ideas of what i can plant in my garden. Thank you!

Are Terra hydrangea the same as an Oakleaf hydrangea -- Australia
@@eleanormilbank Tara is a variety of oakleaf hydrangea.
Thank you Erin
Hello Linda, I usually reference my plants by their common names. It's much easier to remember. Love the little ball shaped plants. ❤
I like the common name for my use. Easier to remember.
I totally enjoy your videos! Thank you for sharing your gardening expertise with us!
Great Wednesday walkabout! The grey umbrella looks SO much better!
Linda, I learned something from this Wednesday Walk About, like I do from all your videos. Thank You. ❤
Your cottage garden just looks wonderful Linda! Can’t believe the progress. You always share such great ideas too. I’m not familiar with feverfew. Gonna check it out! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge and inspiration! 🌸💐🌸

I only just realised that the signs have been removed. It really opens up the garden view. Loving your garden 😍 from South Australia 🇦🇺
Love that tip with the lantana, I’m definitely trying that at my place.
All the plants in your Cottage Garden look so green and healthy. I call my plants by their common name.

Smaller garden!? Holy cow!! Compared to mine, it’s a park!! I wish I had your energy to even do my smaller garden yard! 😃
Linda!!! You are making my “to do” list for tomorrow HUGE! … clip & propagate all sedums, trim back asters, relocate crowded plants…!!!
Soooo pretty...just love everything...❤
Love the front garden!! Everything is really filling in too. Loved the tip on pruning to thicken up the plants also. I too have done the same to my succulents and started new ones 😊
I always enjoy your videos and learn so much. Things are looking so nice.
Everything looks BEAUTIFUL!
So much beautiful new growth.
I love using dusty miller in floral arrangements. And they do root so you can spread them around in pots or in the ground. Everything is looking beautiful! I need to get outside and prune my boxwoods!
Loved today's walkabout it is looking so good! What I instantly envisioned at the 40:06 mark was a dry creek bed meandering down that open area.
Ps. Big fan of Stewart as well!!❤

Hi Linda, Wow! If I hadn't been following along I would never have believed how this garden evolved!!! Love how the planters look on the lower front steps. What a great idea with the leggy Lantana! Love the Serviceberry tree. It is a magnet for the lovely Cedar Waxwings. Learning so much from your channel. Many thanks. Ontario zone 5b
