Aaron, your comment to Laura “just do you.” Is the definition of LOVE! Bravo to both of you for demonstrating what love, honesty, kindness, great work ethic, and positivity is supposed to look like.
Hi, Laura When I saw your glass of diet coke I just had to get myself a glass. We celebrated our 50 wedding anniversary last year on September 25th. WE did marry young 23 years old now on an estate with lots of retired people and 3 grown-up children and 3 grandchildren and my youngest son and daughter in law are expecting their 1st baby in August and to have another grandchild that I can hold once again. Thanks for your very interesting channel. Our seasons differ here in South Africa we are going into winter now and you going into summer. Our Autumn has been so wonderful with chilly mornings and evenings. Thanks once again for a super informative channel. Regards to you both Emma Gush.
Raise your hand if you wish you were as together and talented as Laura. 💗 I always feel motivated to maintain our beds and yard after watching your gorgeous spaces and gardens Laura.
Right?! I just came back from a longish trip. And my garden is a mess! Elephant wars flopped down from storms. Weeds everywhere. Over sized basils, orange staining from sprinklers on new plants! I can’t even find the energy to start to fix it up! Need to channel my inner Laura (if she even exists lol)
I love Aaron’s comment about your style of clothing. “You just do you” Love it! And he’s right. Ain’t nobody on here has stopped watching and learning from you because your wearing a Black shirt and Jeans. 😂 I think most people probably think about you being comfortable. But watching you as long as we have, if your not comfortable, you would have already fixed it by now. 😉 You Do You! Stay true to yourself! All the best to your family. 💗
Thank you for reading Samanthas message about your channel bring her joy. I have to say Amen to that message! I’ve been cancer free since 2008 and that message really hit home. Joy is so hard to find during Chemo for sure, so I’m so touched to hear what she said. Bless you and your family....!
I probably wouldn't have chosen 'Garden Answer' at the beginning either, but it's the perfect name for what you've become. I don't know many other channels that spend as much time as you do - between your main channel and your highlights - actually answering so many of your audience's real garden questions. Thank you so much.
Garden Answer and all your family does brings joy to my day each and every day. I use your channel as a resource for when I want to plant new thing's. Love learning about new plants and how to manage existing plantings.
Laura, I could listen to you for hours! You have such a pleasant voice and know your stuff. Also, I agree with Aaron….”just do you!” Don’t worry about what anyone says about what you wear. You are such a beautiful woman!
'We weren't even having that good of a time!" ... Aaron is so funny... and I'm sure he doesn't mean to be!!! You guys are so good. THANK GOD you spent that $1000!!!!!
😂🤣😂 You two crack me up. Hearing your conversations is just as much joy as the gardening content. Keep up the good work! (In my Aaron UA-cam commenting voice) LOL
"Just do you." -Aaron I say Amen to that! As long as you're not hurting anyone, wear what you want, do what you want, and say what you want. Your garden is beautiful, regardless of what you are wearing, so you go girl!
I like your outfits. It's you and is what makes you different. No need to dress up to go get dirty. I have my gardening clothes and I'm sure you do too. Love your videos! ❤
Can you see Laura in a summer frock with all the lace and frills. Maybe with an apron. And of course 4 inch heels standing in the Hartley? What a sight.
I’m just impressed that she does her hair and wears makeup to garden in 100! degree weather. I’m out there on spf and pigtails and don’t look anywhere as nice as Laura does
People should really stop worrying about Laura's outfits! 1. It is not a fashion channel. 2. There is nothing wrong with anything she wears. She dresses like a regular person on a regular day, planting plants. Psh.
We went to buy/dismantle a greenhouse for $100 off of marketplace. It was a score for sure. We arrived and there were quite a few wasps and little nests in the thing! The owner says “Let me go get my paint thinner!” WHAT? He proceeds to tell me that in his college days he painted houses and they put cups of thinner around and it ran off the wasps. Sure enough he poured it into a large solo cup and walked in with it and away they went. The fumes will kill them and they just scatter! 5 minutes later, no more wasps! That tip alone was worth the $100!!! And I got a little green house too!!! ❤️❤️😜
FYI! Amazing wasp killing trick: Use a pump sprayer (I use a 1 gallon) and fill it with water, add a dash of liquid dish soap. Pump it so the pressure shoots the water like 6 feet away from you, and then cover the wasp nest with it first thing in the morning before the sun warms the wasps to fly, or at dusk when they've returned to the nest. The soap does 2 things: plugs their breathing holes on their thorax and sticks their wings in place so they can't fly. All the wasps are dead within 2 minutes. Then you can get the nest down without risk of being stung! I've taken out about 7 large nests this summer using this method.
“Dead End Media” 😂 That would make an awesome hoodie logo. Thanks for these videos - they’ve quickly become my favorite. I love the banter between you & Aaron. We need to have him join you in front of the camera. Either way, it’s always a joy to watch.
I'm so glad to hear yall say that heat PLUS humidity is also hard for yall. I struggle with yard work so much here in South Carolina and watching Laura be such an absolute dynamo with her yard work makes me feel bad sometimes. It's comforting to know she struggles with that too.
It would be awesome if you had a little "Garden Answer Roundtable" episode with a few guest gardeners from other growing zones to address issues found in different zones. Something like a Zoom meeting format, with questions submitted ahead of time by Garden Answer viewers that each guest could speak on. I absolutely love learning from you and Aaron! Keep up the good work!
That would be a fun series for the winter! It’s probably the only time multiple gardeners could coordinate their schedules anyways. She said she doesn’t network but maybe a chat with some of the other channels she’s pointed out before would be ok.

Hey Aaron, I totally get the mispronounciation or misspelling of your last name. My great-great-great grand father's last name was Lebouthillier (we are a French-Canadian family) but because he had a business and was dealing with anglophones a lot, he changed his last name to Butler to make it easier for his clients to pronounce! And every child/grand child ever since has had this last name. Who knows, maybe we are cousins many, many times removed! Thank you to both of you for being so inspiring.
You guy's and your tribe are so generous, it really warms my heart to be able to join you on your journey. Even your followers are enjoyable to be apart of.
Container Veggie Gardening: Greens, including Swiss Chard, and Carrots do great in containers! I’ve grown tomatoes in large containers with great success. Flowers of all kinds. Herbs, grow like weeds, anywhere! I just learned of/bought seeds for a Bush Okra. Potatoes are great in 5-gallon pail size or bigger. This year I’m trying sweet potatoes. The better question might be, what CAN’T grow in a container? The biggest concern is in containers, you grow what you can eat fresh. It’s hard to grow enough to preserve.
gardening is the subject of your videos ( and sometimes cooking what you've harvested )....it's not a fashion show...like you said, jeans and a black top.....you always look lovely , but I'm taking in he info you're sharing with us....and I'm thankful for that
"🌽er" That made my morning 😆. Thank you team Garden Answer for all the wonderful content. To aid in your defense, people who have mentally demanding jobs (CEO’s, world leaders, etc) may simplify their wardrobe just so it’s one less decision needed to be made. Don’t bog the brain down with clothing options, save it for more important decisions for the garden or decorating the Hartley. 🙃
You can't ware good clothes in the garden because you mess them up.... I ruined so many when painting the house...and I can not find the same quality stuff anymore. Everything is expensive and low quality.
@@camicri4263 i did the same thing. My paint covered clothes are now gardening clothes. Haha I found out the SPF-protectant hiking pants make awesome gardening pants too. They’re lightweight, dry fast and the clay soil usually washes off the knees.

🥰You two are a delight to watch and to listen to each and every time. What a lovely life you have, and to be so kind as to share your talents and time with others is indeed a great example of what “giving back” is truly about. And you have drawn such a compassionate following….truly remarkable. Thank you both from my heart.💜💚❤️💛🌞
I love recap videos. And today it was the second video posted in the same day. BONUS!!! The first one was the spruce tree falling in the storm 😳! I love how pragmatic and upbeat you are in all these challenging situations! You are a joy, my dear Laura. A lesson to help me be positive in the face of adversity! Thank you 🙏 💚
Your videos are perfect for my area. I’m in Wyoming, high altitude desert, high ph, and crazy wild weather!!! I’m so glad I found your channel🥰 no other garden channels come even close to what I deal with! I have learned so much from you and your channel in the last 2 years (an unexpected benefit of COVID)❤️ Keep doing what you do best😊
Laura and Aaron I have a funny story can I tell it? My dad god rest his soul was an avid gardener. He was also a guy that belted his jeans below the belly which inevitably led to plumbers butt crack when gardening. Long story /short.. me and my mom were in the kitchen talking. Well my dad runs in and starts dancing a drops his drawers me and mom are like whaaa. the hell.....it was a bee! LOL I still laugh to this day. Sorry dad the internet knows now. Love ya.
Sometimes I hear you say that you have already done a video on that subject. Or you have already shown us how you planted grass. But I don't think you realize how much we enjoy just watching the process over and over again in different parts of your land. It's you we watch and take delight in. It's like having a special friend that lets us into her life. And it gets some of us through the hard times.
I'm with Aaron, you do you! Don't worry about a "uniform". We all love your content because of the honest and real way you present yourselves. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Considering you are a mother with the two young children, a huge house and property - you are doing pretty good to have it all together for 90% of the time. Well done. It does not matter at this stage if you do not have the matching curtain on the chicken coop. Having said that - I am quite sure you will go upstairs now and find that other half. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia.
I just want to comment real quick on the drill/auger. I also purchased the fancy new DeWalt Drill (cement, e-clutch) Drill with multiple Augers just a couple of weeks ago. Aaron mentioned that it's heavy & I will agree with that. Just the drill is 6# then you add the battery & auger & oh my goodness. It's a beast, makes me sore however that's fine with me. Anything in the garden with a little pain means my job is so much easier. I've been using augers but I wanted the ability to use big ones. I will say I'm 70, feel old only when I garden. If I can handle that drill/auge,r I think other women can. Just be prepared.
You can wear the same shirt every video and I wouldn’t notice😂I’m so interested in what your doing!! I look like a bum in the garden I’m sure my neighbors love it 😜
I’m the same. I’ve got some funky outfits, basically whatever is clean-ish and comfy. Whatever I’m wearing, it is always paired with my flower rain boots. So I’m sure I’m a vision to my neighbors when I’m in the garden.
Right? I don't understand how people can just focus on the most insignificant things, like what someone is wearing. Unless it's shocking, or something, I usually don't notice things like that, because they don't matter.
The tail end video with you and Benjamin cleaning the ears of corn and trimming the ends of the green beans was priceless, but I can understand you don't want too much of your children on the program and therefore it wasn't on Highlights. Loved how he drove his garden vehicle today though.... soooooo proficient
I live in NC and yes the humidity here in the summer hangs around 90% which makes you feel so sluggish and to do any gardening is miserable. Seems every area has its ups and downs. Love all your information.
Congrats to the winners of the Hoselinks. Love the recap video's., seems alot of Chlorisis going on in gardens outside of just yours Laura & Aaron. Thank you as always for the great information. I am dealing with acidic soil, from pine trees and also I have beach sand, we are near a bay, wish I could say I our house is on the water, but we are not. .some areas the soil is red, nearly clay color from high iron.....we all seem to have struggles if not with insects, soil.. finding balance of healthy for our landscape to be happy & thrive.. Thank you 😊
I ordered some Dead Weed Brew and couldn't buy it in person at Home Depot....I had to order it online through HD and have it shipped to a HD store near me. I live in the Idaho end of Treasure Valley. So aggravating.
Great video. I usually save this for Sunday so I don’t miss a day with out you guys. But Whoops I watched it today. Oh well I’ll just watch it again on Sunday.😂😂😂 Thank you so very much for sharing I really appreciate it.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wow! Pausing the video to say *thank you for the warning* about the augers! I had never seen them before seeing them on your channel and have been wanting one, but am honestly not as strong as I once was😒. Maybe I'll get a small one and practice with that first. So glad to hear this realistic warning. Thank you!
@@d.wheeler3652 Thank you for pointing out that the smaller ones are not necessarily safe either. We do have a lot of clay. Where we used to live we also had clay and soil that was quite compacted. I ended up getting a thing that looked like an enormous flathead screwdriver for our hammerdrill and basically jackhammered my first planting holes.
I have a huge beautiful white crabapple tree, it was here when we moved in almost 6 years ago. But last year it started dropping its leaves very early (July?) and the trunk was turning very Gray! I really thought I’d lost it! But thankfully it came alive this spring!! But then of course we had an early hard frost so it did stun the blooms some. I’ve been watching and trying to learn about the chelated iron Aaron’s been treating trees with but I’m not sure how to do it with this tree. It’s such a bee magnet and the first spring blooms for the pollinators in my area so I really need help to rescue it!
Re the Honeynut butternut squash, I was just looking to see if they can be grown in the UK and apparently as well as being more flavourful than the bigger varieties they are nutritionally better too (twice the amount of beta carotene as "standard" butternut squash) so win win!!
My eight year oldgranddaughter: “grandma please come to my room to my room to watch tv.” Me: ok, but…. Granddaughter: “I know, I know you want to watch Garden Answer.”🤣
Relieved to hear about other people's problems w wasps. For a while I felt like nature was out get me. I felt discouraged about my place in gardening after a wasp attacked me stinging me 8 times, then I found a spider literally the size of my hand on my 🍅 plant making a nest that then hatched dozens of tiny spiders. Tell your Dad he is not alone in his fight with wasps, they sting me too!
I wear old Sweats and my tank tops all have holes in them .... my straw hat that I have had for 26 years is about to completely disintegrate ... however I am on the search for a new hat ..... It is not what you wear it is how you garden ..... Hugs
I was about to post the same comment. Hopefully, she will include it in an upcoming video. But even from the description, I think I can picture it. It will def look different than what it is suppose to look like.

I love that you don’t fuss over your clothes and just focus on the endless tasks at hand. To aid in your defense, people who have mentally demanding jobs (CEO’s, world leaders, etc) may simplify their wardrobe just so it’s one less decision needed to be made. Don’t bog the brain down with clothing options, save it for more important decisions for the garden or decorating the Hartley. 🙃
Right? Who really cares what one wears in the garden! The other channel is usually over dressed if she was really doing real gardening!
I get so grubby I have to literally hose myself off before coming in!
@@jgwood10 Can't both of them enjoy their own niche without getting unkind comparisons? It's really easy not to watch a video that isn't your thing. Just don't click on it. So simple. The kind thing is always the right thing. And the best thing about kindness is that it's free. 😊♥️
Thank you 🙏 💚
Laura you are keeping me company while I prep 20 quarts of dills for pickling. Felt like you would appreciate that with your own cucumber plethora.
I absolutely love these behind-the-scenes videos and getting back stories, etc. LOVE IT!
Love ya.
I had a similar experience with a red wasp- it went up from the leg. Those pants were dropped where I stood--in the yard.😊
🤣😂😂😅🙌
Sometimes I hear you say that you have already done a video on that subject. Or you have already shown us how you planted grass. But I don't think you realize how much we enjoy just watching the process over and over again in different parts of your land. It's you we watch and take delight in. It's like having a special friend that lets us into her life. And it gets some of us through the hard times.
41:42 that baby elephant is SOOO cute!!
So my daughter knows I’m obsessed with your videos. So when we bought some perennials last week, she said…what does your garden channel say to do!
😂
🤗Adorable! 💚
So precious!
“You do you” - great comment, Aaron. Plus, you look gorgeous gardening anyway!
Fewer videos, but all quality! Thanks for your consistent posting!
I really like the name “Garden Answer”! Appropriate, and easy for me to remember when recommending to my friends.
You didn't had fun, but you created beautiful memories and a legacy. 🌿💜
I Love hearing about community gardens. Always a Blessing. 🌞🥰
My dear friend, receive this warmed with love, pyracantha is evergreen with THORNS…..we had them. 😃
I always enjoy these highlights videos.
Love the coaster for your drink!!!
Wow!🎉Congrats guys🎊🎸🎶
I'm with Aaron, you do you! Don't worry about a "uniform". We all love your content because of the honest and real way you present yourselves. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Butternut squash makes great 'pumpkin pie', my family had no idea that it wasn't really pumpkin.
You definitely bring me joy❣
Congratulations to the Hoselink winners!!!🎉🎉🎉
You two make an Awesome team!!!
Congratulation to both winners !
Laura, I love the "coaster" for your drink! LOL Adorable!🤣
Hi Laura and Aaron! This was another enjoyable Q&A. Thank you so much for sharing!
Love all your information.
hi i am so stuck on your vids and i love them they give me something to look fowerd to and it puts a smile on my face ty
Congratulations winners!!!
Love the Sunday release of the highlight video. ☺️ 7 days of Garden Answer videos with breakfast. 🥳
Yes yes 🙌 a video on vegetables that are the size for raised beds or limited space , I was wondering where to even start looking !
Congratulations to the draw winners!!! Love, Love, Love you and your channel! Such an amazing team/family!
Great video. I usually save this for Sunday so I don’t miss a day with out you guys. But Whoops I watched it today. Oh well I’ll just watch it again on Sunday.😂😂😂
Thank you so very much for sharing I really appreciate it.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wow! Pausing the video to say *thank you for the warning* about the augers! I had never seen them before seeing them on your channel and have been wanting one, but am honestly not as strong as I once was😒. Maybe I'll get a small one and practice with that first. So glad to hear this realistic warning. Thank you!
Yes, Beth, be careful especially if you have heavy clay soil or have a lot of roots. I injured my wrist badly and it was a small auger.
@@d.wheeler3652 Thank you for pointing out that the smaller ones are not necessarily safe either. We do have a lot of clay. Where we used to live we also had clay and soil that was quite compacted. I ended up getting a thing that looked like an enormous flathead screwdriver for our hammerdrill and basically jackhammered my first planting holes.
love your coaster
I love these recaps that answer all of the little things I wonder about....👍😁
The kids will love the helicopters!
Love you showing your dirty jeans that you are still wearing. That's how gardeners roll!
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in to garden . I would love your videos no matter what !!!!
Re the Honeynut butternut squash, I was just looking to see if they can be grown in the UK and apparently as well as being more flavourful than the bigger varieties they are nutritionally better too (twice the amount of beta carotene as "standard" butternut squash) so win win!!
Lebouthiller? Hi from Montreal..your last name would fit in perfectly here!..🌱Love you "Réponse Jardin"=Garden Answer 😉 :))
Love your channel….thank you for taking your time to do what you do!
My eight year oldgranddaughter: “grandma please come to my room to my room to watch tv.”
Me: ok, but….
Granddaughter: “I know, I know you want to watch Garden Answer.”🤣
Where did you get your garden pot dolly?? We love watching your videos!!!
I really like the name Garden Answer.
This is the best video, ever! You two made me laugh all the way through..your responses are so cute and candid. Great job, great couple.
Ahhh perfect timing Laura. Love these videos ;)
I wear old Sweats and my tank tops all have holes in them .... my straw hat that I have had for 26 years is about to completely disintegrate ... however I am on the search for a new hat ..... It is not what you wear it is how you garden ..... Hugs
Laura, the picture of the different colored leaves with Chlorosis didn’t make the edit! Can you post a pic of those please?
I was about to post the same comment. Hopefully, she will include it in an upcoming video. But even from the description, I think I can picture it. It will def look different than what it is suppose to look like.
LOL love you two! Talking about the power tools taking you out. 😆 Love the conversation and banter.❤️ Of course I love all the info too!
I love your terra-cotta coaster Laura! Lol
Y’all are silly I love yalls relationship 🥰
Y’all should do a retro video day once a month and take a weekend off each month
You deserve it enjoy those babies whilst they’re still babies 💙💖
Oh my. Hilarious. My knees are as dirty as yours as I sit in the sofa having my lattee break to watch this video. Happy gardening. 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻💚😊🍀
Always bringing joy here Laura and Aaron currently in hard lockdown here in Sydney Australia and I have watching so many of yr videos. You bring me so much joy, inspiration and information. Making a hard time here so much more enjoyable. My garden is benefiting so much. Thankyou so much from the bottom of my heart
🙏
