Thank you for the great video! We were wondering if you are able to go on the freeways with this boat on the truck bed. Do you only go to nearby local lakes? We have a truck with 6 ft bed and want to do it without the trailer as well.
Looks like a need for a dolly for the bow of the boat when off loading it & putting it in your garage. A furniture dolly might be just the ticket. Thanks for the videos. I have a 3/4 acre pond and this boat ( along with some of your great DIY upgrades) seems like it would suit my situation just fine. Fish On!
I don’t have trailer either. I do it with the rear out the back and back down the ramp till my Sundolphine is in the water then I have a rope tied to a D-ring on front of boat and bring a rope to inside of the cab with me. I just lightly goose the throttle going up the ramp and just hold the rope the boat unloads itself. You can put a little slack in rope and tie to truck bed D-ring if think you can’t hold it by hand. Whatever’s best
Thanks Ricky, I might have to give this a try sometime if I can find some good boat ramps. Most of my ramps around here on the river I can’t back down into the water as they are really washed out or just terrible. Thanks again for the idea it sounds like it would work great!
If you can get to where your exhaust is in the water all you need. The boat is already halfway off before you back down. Tailgate is about 3 -5 inches above the water. To load the boat back up-I climb in back of truck and pull it up by hand with the front rope. With everything still loaded on boat and tie it to the ratchet strap ( same way that you did your strap)on front bed D-rings. I climb in truck bed by stepping on top of rear tire and over side of truck. Pulls in really easy.
Good question man, these are actually mailbox stickers which have a very strong adhesive. They have been on this boat for over a year and a half with rough use and I have never had one come unstuck. You can usually find them at Walmart where the mailboxes are located. I hope this helps man!
Thank you for the video. I ended up buying a similar one (branded as Field and Stream) from Dick's Sporting Goods and a Minn Kota Endura C2 55Lb motor along with it. I am also on budget and haven't gone for a trailer. When I first took it out for the first time last evening, I quickly learned as to why you hook up the tie-down to the back of your boat when loading/unloading. The boat was slippery and heavy. Do you mind showing how you installed the PVC-pipe handle on the rear transom? Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment, it’s funny that you asked for the video on how to make the handle because I made the video yesterday but just got around to uploading it, so here it is. I hope this helps, keep it Blue Collar!!! ua-cam.com/video/nrQCQUGDxXk/v-deo.html
What you think about mounting wheels on the back of the boat sell them for Jon boats. Just recently bought this boat just thinking of ideas to do to it. Great videos man
Great idea I had this though to based on the fact that the boat doesn’t have a good structure on the rear to mount them to. I’m sure you could get creative and mount them just fine. I’m pretty sure the transom is reinforced with plywood directly under the mount plate. Good idea man.
The boat is very stable for a Jon boat. Please see my stability test video, here is the link ➡️ua-cam.com/video/l4Otl-DRstw/v-deo.html . As far as taking it out on a big lake I would not suggest taking any Jon boat out on a big lake with large wakes because they don’t handle waves well.
Yea it’s really light with nothing in it, but when I put my casting deck on it, trolling motor and battery and the other gear it really get heavy lol. I guess I should learn to live with less gear
I love this channel. It's nice to be able to learn these thinfs from someone who seems genuinely interested in sharing skills rather than making money
you saved me buying trailer 😎
Glad to hear brother, trailers bring about DMV issues, storage problems and more headaches than they are worth if you can avoid them.
Thank you for the great video!

how did you get the registration stickers on the boat with the numbers meaning how did you get them to stick to that boats surface ?

Your width between wheel wells? Web says that boat 52" wide. My F250 is 50"

Thanks for writing back man. Do you think screws would be best or rivets?
In my opinion using 2 1/2 Wood screw would be the best for mounting them to the transom area
Thanks for the advice man I’ll let you know how it goes when done
Good luck man I hope it goes great
