Worth mentioning, in the later stages if exp is your aim, aether lords give a crazy amount so if you take every single aether lord buff you get a ridiculous amount of exp. I went from 90-93 in a single horde set
Just to point out, the movement speed buff stacks additively and doesn't go away until you leave, so if you get 8 seconds per aether and get 100-200 aether, you fly like a bird around the dungeon for 30 minutes.
the whole boon theory section is the type of thinking that got me hooked on d2 back in the day. the little hidden mechanics that go a long way when you use them with a plan. Raxx, you're a Gamer-gamer.

I laughed so hard at "Zimbabwe" not sure if it's been mentioned in the video but for people who are struggling to get sigil dust you can do helltide and open chests and salvage the compasses for dust to make NM dungeon keys.

Ha, I was wrecking 2 and then jumped to 3. Got one shotted as I approached the initial guy. It was at that point I knew I needed to get my end game build really going.
Not picking upgrades for a bunch of different event types is a really good tip. I was ignoring movement speed and some of the other “useless” upgrades and instead just getting whatever gave more aether.
Im new to Diablo and your videos make it make sense!!!! I was getting wrecked in Hordes trying to do high tiers as a level 100 Druid. I didnt have any of the supporting items for the build until i saw your video on Druid builds. Appreciate you!

What I would love to see from you , Raxx , is a video that goes into (and quite deeply) how you can easily spot if a dropped piece of gear is an upgrade for you , or not . and what you can ignore, what not, what to look for, what not , what base is good for upgrading / rolling stuff, which are not , etc. because I find , and i'm sure that many people do , have no idea how to spot if a piece of gear is actually an upgrade (or might be a downgrade if they looked 1 minute longer) .
Didnt find a comment here about gold.. so I think it was in tier 6, I spent about 300 eather on gold chest and got about 30 million Gold. Thats nice 👍🏻🤑
If you get lucky enough to get hellborne boons early on + "hellborne elites invigorate you on kill" + "elites are exploding on kill" you will have the most fun in this game... ofc if you screen or PC does not freeze due to the sheer monster volumes and your spamming of the skills 😂 but I love it, the invigorating buff even goes into the counselors room. Pretty op
Nice vid. Something important to mention: t7 and 8 horde material chest can drop the tormented boss keys (about 1-4 per run). Also, light sorcs and totem rogues are the best group ups for smashing higher hordes

Elite spawns, even though they don't drop aether, are still good because they fill up event bar faster so it's like same with %50 faster events. Also, the gold reward scales with compass level. So you can get something like 60-80m with 300+ aether on 6 or smt.
The Hordes are probably the most fun I've had with this game so far, and I have genuinely enjoyed basically every season so far. Only problem I have is that you don't get any summon-mats, So you can do this and crush it for ages, but if you want to get some Uber-Uniques and farm Duriel, you still have to go do aaaaaall the other boring shit to get the summon-mats for him. As far as i could see, the amount of Uniques you get in this mode is very limited, especially because they do have their own loot-table and if they drop Uniques, you're very likely to get the same ones over and over again. If they had some chances in the mats-chest to drop Heart of Varshan or Living Steel or anything like that, it'd be amazing. Add to that Glyph-XP somewhere in there, maybe choose to use some Aether for XP in exchange for less loot, and you'd truly never need to do anything else in this game. It's so much fun, and having to do anything else feels like a punishment. The game is saying "oh, you want to have fun? do these chores first!"

I wish there was a visual cue on screen when the Æther event spawns because I find myself staring at the mini map almost the entire time I'm running the Hordes.
Last night I soloed t7, with 812 aether after killing fel council. Then DC'd.. lost it all.. Using maxroll CL build, with Andy's, fist of fate, the poison dmg is insane.
To your point at 5:30, I did a tier 2 infernal horde super easy, so I was like "Aight time for a tier 3". Went in and got immediately one shot. So yes, I can confirm that increasing the tier by even 1 gets insanely hard. Not sure if that was intended or not.
Each tier raises enemy level by 20, finally capping at level 200 for T8. If you have a good build and gear, T5 is easy and it starts getting challenging after that. Tier 7 requires nearly BiS gear with some degree of masterworking and T8 needs optimal everything to solo.

For anyone wondering, infernal horde activity is not a one season thing. It will remain available to play going forward. It's a nice little generalist endgame activity that is quick and fulfilling (imo).
In my experience, skipping finishing off the elites and hellborn in favor of 1) doing the spires/killing aether masses, and 2) killing off normal mobs to spawn more events faster, through the entire wave. I didn't even know about mass pumping hellborn or avoiding other event boons, and I still get 225-250 aether every run. I dunno how much more following these tips will pump it, but it seems to me most efficient to do it this way
The Priority Quest appears in WT3, independent of the seasonal quest afaik, as eternal doesn't have the seasonal one. Hellfire rain is also a good option, it unlocks another Hellborne upgrade where Hellfire spawns Hellborne.
Hydra is probably the best leveling build in the game. You can play it one handed. Between the (+2 hydra heads temper) and the other tempers that drastically increase DOT fire damage, the +1 hydra spawn enchantment, and all the new aspects added that do AOE explosions and modify fire damage, you can clear any content in the base game including all pre-Durial bosses, NMs and Hordes. By the time you get to 100 you will have found all the gear needed to go bouncing fireballs with is legit nuts
The best build for this AND the Pit is Frozen orb/lightning spear hybrid with shattered winterglass. It's just stupid how strong and easy it is for farming and bossing
Raxx I would love if you did a short guide on character progression from a HC perspective. This game is very strange where you can obliterate the capstone dungeon at level 30 and then proceed to get one shot by a trash mob because of your negative resistance. Would be cool just to know how you are utilizing your tempering in the early transition to higher tiers. I've tried catching your stream to watch the full leveling process but it's nearly impossible with my work schedule. Thanks
If you *only* want to get XP and don't care much for the rewards, play infernal hordes on Tier 2. The monsters scale up in level with your level from 75 to 100. It would explain why *every wave*, no matter my current level, I keep getting a paragon point. It's ludicrous. You DO NOT need to be on tier 3 for efficient leveling, tier TWO will be just fine.
I am level 75 and doing level 2's. Nearly ready for 3. this is so useful as Ive already noticed it matters what you choose as the last one didnt give me a lot of aether. Ill try to pick those ones if they come up next.

The amount of disconnects in getting this season is crazy. Never had issues like this in prior seasons. It's very frustrating to be disconnected in the middle of a dungeon
They should add Glyph rewards as you say to the Mats chest, and they should have a Glyph XP totem spawn and allow you to spend Aether on Glyph XP (obviously an appropriate rate for the level akin to a Nightmare Dungeon needs to be set)

I'm not sure if I misunderstood something, but I'm currently doing T3 Infernal Hordes. I've done 4 or 5 so far, but twice when choosing the 60 Aether chest, I didn't receive any GA items. I thought that with this chest, some GA items were guaranteed to drop.
I have never received "good" equipment from the Greater Affix chests. The greater affix is always something that I'm not looking for or on a piece where I'm already using a unique/mythic item.

I'm new to game and don't have much tempering built up like everyone else from the last season, is infernal hordes still best to do after getting all glyphs?
How are you guys leveling so fast from 1 at the beginning of the season? Is it just purely grinding or am i missing something. I will admit i only played like 4 hours so far this season but my character is only level 21. How are you guys getting to level 70 so fast to do these?
I think for the builds, yesterday I joined a group of 2 lightning wolf druids with my fireball sorc on a t7 we got like 600 mats or so they were deleting everything standing in one spot basically, also extremely tanky
If your goal in the season is "only to get to lvl 100", you actually don't even need to look at them...just spam leveling in this mode and when you get to level100 you think if you wanna do nightmare dungeon for the sake of min maxing or just log out hahahaha
My plan is to get to 100, get my build slapping, then go back and do high level NMD and level them quickly over a couple dungeons rather than 10 each glyph.

At lower levels they are also great for mothers gift if you're looking to rush a spark

go to max rool and see the gear and its properties you need for your build. Compare, then take mental note and get used to it with practice

Good tip: in the seasonal rewards with the smoldering ashes you can upgrade the amount of rewards from the horde chest

Sometimes the Greater Affix chest doesn't have any Greater Affixes in it, but you still get 3x the legos compared to the lego chest for 3x the cost
The Butcher modifier is also top tier imho
He can spawn multiple times per wave if you’re lucky and it’s at least 25 aether per kill

I've had some full with all Hellborne and some with all dumb events and it makes a major difference with the amount you get at the end.
I have only done a few of the tier 1, but I think they are super fun!

Btw, Movement speed using Esus makes you a beast. Brings my crit chance to almost cap

Idea - in Inernal hordes you get glyphs at the end of boss fight, repeat glyph drops level said glyphs by 1 lvl.

Can confirm you can complete the seasonal questline thru out the world tiers.

Swapped to fireball from incinerate and since I'm playing hardcore I can't run the same tier I was running before. I'll have to try this

How can you increase your glyph level without sinking hours and hours into Nightmare dungeons? Like to upgrade 3 glyphs to 15 it takes sooo many runs!
Paragon board and glyphs need restructuring.

I'm not sure if I misunderstood something, but I'm currently doing T3 Infernal Hordes. I've done 4 or 5 so far, but twice when choosing the 60 Aether chest, I didn't receive any GA items. I thought that with this chest, some GA items were guaranteed to drop.
I have never received "good" equipment from the Greater Affix chests. The greater affix is always something that I'm not looking for or on a piece where I'm already using a unique/mythic item.

They drop like candy nearly everywhere. To a point they are annoyingly filling up your inventory without stacking.

I'm new to game and don't have much tempering built up like everyone else from the last season, is infernal hordes still best to do after getting all glyphs?
I got 10 glyphs in the quest that unlocks this. Very cool quest by the way!

How are you guys leveling so fast from 1 at the beginning of the season? Is it just purely grinding or am i missing something. I will admit i only played like 4 hours so far this season but my character is only level 21. How are you guys getting to level 70 so fast to do these?

I think for the builds, yesterday I joined a group of 2 lightning wolf druids with my fireball sorc on a t7 we got like 600 mats or so they were deleting everything standing in one spot basically, also extremely tanky
Any tips on the desecrator. That is legitimately the only thing i die to.
So does this mean leveling glyphs is no longer a priority?

@@channelnamehere478 Up until now, I've been leveling exclusively from doing NMDs and getting the proper glyphs maxed for my build😅
If your goal in the season is "only to get to lvl 100", you actually don't even need to look at them...just spam leveling in this mode and when you get to level100 you think if you wanna do nightmare dungeon for the sake of min maxing or just log out hahahaha
My plan is to get to 100, get my build slapping, then go back and do high level NMD and level them quickly over a couple dungeons rather than 10 each glyph.
