Hey, Mac. I clipped your video and used it as proof to submit a bug report to Blizzard for Masterworking GA Core Stats. You were correct, 5% of 270 is 13.5, and your Intelligence should have increased as such. 9 is actually 5% of the non-GA max stat value of 180.
hmm I wonder if that explains why my boots with +4 ball lightning GA are still only +4 after masterworking level 6 which I believe should be at least +25% total
Keep it up Mac. Been playing d4 since preseason. Been watching you since my first blood necro. You helped me understand the overpower mechanic back when it was like trying to translate hyraglyohics. Your d4 content is the best and no one can deny it. You just get it man. I'm glad your channel has blown up recently. So Mac keep it up

Great Video, thx. The math with masterworking at 15:24 implies that a greater affix will not be increased by 5% but rather it's 5% of the standard maxroll of that affix.
I'm a very casual player and I needed these explanations. Thank you for this video, helped me so much in the understanding of the new way Diablo IV works :) Awesome guide for me :D
Thank you. Very new to diablo.. used a few videos to learn everything I need up to level 70. Thanks again. Liked and subbed.
I just started D4 few days ago and had no idea what everything you cover in this guide was so thanks very much. Btw, couple years ago I reinstalled D3 and was surprised they were still doing new seasons, and actually still are, anyway I’m sure they have a basic map for D4 for next 10 years so we’ll conquer that lvl200 pit or whatever it is soon enough 😈
Thank God I watched this video. I had no idea i could add 2 affixes to my gear. I'm level 88 and have had no issues so far, but this takes my gear to another level. Thanks!
That's me in the intro! work 12 hour days, wife, kid, trying to do a nut and bolt restoration on a mental Datsun 260z.... I can only really play on weekends for a few hours.... Thank you so much for this video, I finally made my return to D4 after only playing in the first season and this made everything so much more clear for me
Someone in the forums made a good point. The devs wanted to hit that feeling of excitement when you get a great drop… but what we’re getting instead is a feeling of wariness on a great drop. “Well… i got something i want. I hope tempering doesn’t go awful.” Tempering results seem to land at, “Well that’s usable” or “that could have been a lot better but at least it was the affix i want”. When i’m getting ready to temper, it has already conditioned me to expect the following: “this temper manual has 3 affixes… 2 of them would be acceptable but i really want a specific one… so it’ll probably hit the third one at least 4 times in a row, if not every time.”
Ehh, I think its more 2 points of dopamine. You get the dopamine of getting an amazing 2-3 greater affix item, and again getting a perfect or near perfect temper roll.
As one of those dads with kids: thanks for the comprehensive dive into crafting. I just jumped back into the game and didn't even realize i could temper two stats onto my gear, making the chance for bricking even higher >_
thanks for the comprehensive guide! to crit 3 times on the same affix is going to require insane amount of luck, I hope that they change the resetting to the start of a tier instead of going back all to the way to 0, then at least players would be more encouraged to do the reset despite the huge gold cost
One helpful thing I've been doing while dealing with gear and tempering is occasionally unsocketing my jewelry gems while choosing and tempering gear. That way I know where my base resistances are at, and often means I can run with only 1 or 2 gems and still be maxed. That way if I find a good piece of gear that is missing the proper resistance, I still have some wiggle room.
Lol, in spite of your sarcastic delivery, I AM one of those "dads". I play one game, D4, a few hours a week. And I watch ONE gaming channel, this one. Thanks for all your hard work.
I've just got into D4, and immediately went straight for a pet build necromancer. Whenever this class pops up, it automatically becomes my main. 😂 currently lvl 19. Thank you for the great video.

Used your infinimist to reach 100 in Hardcore season 1 freaking loved that build, plan on pivoting to your golem minion build when I make it to 100 this season. Thanks for being awesome!
an important thing to note is that the codex of power is shared across characters. i had a HC necro that died at 58 and when i rolled another, it was so much easier to get back on my feet.

Just started. Playing in off time casually I just beat the campaign and went world tier 3 on a hardcore necro and got immediately overwhelmed by how much crafting I'm supposed to take college courses on creating
They just need to list the probability of rolling an aspect. Don’t change anything, just tell people how hard it is to get what they want. Failure needs to be an option…
Edit: in early leveling Ive found that the big monster who drops seeds of hatred in one of the two sections always drops legendaries. I really enjoy using the aspects from the dugeons. Those helped me to level up to 54 within 3 days of playing for about 4 to 5 hours each day. I was able to run throught monsters using the blood bath aspect which helped out greatly. Only bad thing is I run out of esscense very quickly. Getting the gear needed for a majorty of these builds is the hardest part of the game. I miss D2 where I could just use jah ith ber enigma plate lol being able to teleport regardless of what character you were. But aside from that i miss some of the d3 characters like the monk. Ive never played necro except when doing pvp in d2 or a 200fcr fireballl sorc.
Hello Mac, great informative video. One curious question that I have is of you reset your master working, does that reset make you start all over? For context, if my weapon was fully upgraded (12/12) and I’m not satisfied with the stats that got the 25 percent increase boost, would the reset take me all the way to 0/12 or would the reset take me down to 8/12? I ask because as you mentioned there is a possibility of the one stat getting all three 25 percent increase boost which is good to know.
As someone that went akf from d4 after s0... Ive missed all the info on these past seasons and the changes. This guide/video definitely earned you another sub.
