    1. Let neck fall down (left, right)
    2. Gentle neck rolls 10-12 both ways
    3. Clasp hands, squeeze neck muscles-chin to chest (30 sec)
    4. Chin tucks- chin neutral to floor, tuck in-out while shoulderblades squeeze and chest is out (hold 3 sec) (10-12)

I originally watched this video about 3-4 days ago, I've gone from cracking my neck with my hands every 10 minutes or less to rolling my neck around to crack it every 20-30 minutes and I've only cracked my neck with my hands twice since. Not only has my neck felt a lot better but my mood has been so much better. You have actually saved my life, thank you so much.

im 27 ive been cracking my neck for 14 years to the point that my right side doesnt crack anymore, which makes me pull even harder on that side. So one day i pulled too hard and injured something. I got dizzy, my heart started pumping, i couldnt eat for 3-4 days, i was waking up every 2 hours at night ( with nightmares), i couldnt get an erection for 10 days. I Felt pressure on the right side of my face and behind my right eye, i was constantly in depression. After a month it started to get better, i am trying not to touch my head with my hands, im doing all sorts of exercises, i ve been to a chiropractor 6 times and i must admit he helped me alot . its been 3 months since my injury. I can eat and sleep normally, somedays i can still feel the pressure behind my right eye or light headedness( rarely now) and depression. but i think its getting better i just need to stop cracking and twisting my head. 1 thing that hasnt goten better is the constant ringing in my right ear. Till today i didnt know this was an addiction so i had to get this off my chest and hopefully i can help u somehow to stop cracking your head :D

Martinikarlo The rinding in ur ears might be tinnitus, it’s where there is constant ringing in your ear/ears that you will have for the rest of your life, there has been no cure for it now but maybe later in the future. I also have ringing In my ear also but I got used to it and most of the times I don’t even notice it.

I didn't take it seriously, but then I'm starting to worry now because i've been doing this all day , non stop, my neck starts to feel the pain. I can't stop it even if I want to, my brain tells me to crack it. Now I see this video, I hope this helps me my crack this dangerous habit. Thank you for your instructions.

Thank you so much for this video. I have been cracking my neck since I was a teenager, but I have been feeling like I need it multiple times a day lately. It’s so bad, I get tension headaches, migraines and ear aches that make me feel like neck cracking is the only thing that will bring relief. But it’s so temporary, These stretches have really been helping. I hope the damage of years of neck cracking is reversible with these ongoing exercises. Thank you so much, you have no idea how valuable this is!

I've been looking a lot into habit change and one thing that I picked up from someone is keeping track every time you participate in a bad habit. Supposedly your body will start to self-regulate once you start keeping track of how often you do something. I started tallying the number of times a day I would crack something in a little booklet. I'm in day three so I'm not sure how well it works but I already see a sizable drop off from day one to day two.

wow i am very impress when i heard his first solution. not impress of his option he gives us, but impress of myself doing the same thing as he said. pull the head down and move to right and left. i used to used my hands to pull my head to make that cracking sound. then i realize it didnt help make it worst. then after a very long time passes, i start doing some exercise, carry some weight, then i feel a bit tightening on my trapezius muscles, then i realize every times i moved my head to downward and move to both right and left side, i feel there are these muscles from my neck down to my body, get scratched and it feel good. so i started to do this when ever i feel heavy on the same area. then i doubt my action and afraid if i might hurt my neck again, so i somehow come to this channel. thank you. i love this channel. thanks doc.

I have to say my story...
8 months ago I hurt my neck. Doctors wanted to operate on my neck as my C5 compressed spinal cord. My whole left side of my body was painful and I could not move my right leg and my right wrist. I run away from emergency and have not seen any Doctors since. I was watching you tube videos and I came across you.
Doctor I played Football(soccer) today with my son just by following your videos. God bless you my Friend. And for all other people reading this Never Ever Give Up. I also use supplements like Magnesium... The only pain killer is Lyrica 150mg 2 times a day. I was 2 months on Oxycontin 80-120mg a day depends on pain. Those 2 months I did not sleep sometimes 1 hour a day. I am fasting now as well for 40 days and feel a lot better.
You always make me feel a great day and I wish you all the best in life you are a great Man!!! ;)
P.S English is my second language so sorry for bad sentences.

I know what are you writing about Marko, i'm driving on a similar road since one year but one vertebrae down, C6. You'r right: Never Give Up!
I'm happy to feel pure compassion, now.
      Stay well!

Your English is very good. You might want to consider Turmeric a great natural anti-inflammatory. It would be nice if you can get off your Lyrica in the future. Talk to your doctor

motivationaldoc i confirm, in my experience was turmeric very good to reduce inflamation, at hospital the doc prescribed Lyrica, but i never tooked. Thank you for the nice work Dr. Mandell!

I totally understand avoiding surgery but dont think this means you have to avoid all doctors. There are many treatment perspectives and not all Doctors go straight to a surgical solution. It is wise to be hesitant to go under the knife unless you absolutely have exhausted all options but from the sound of your post you did not seek any treatment for your injury . In my opinion you really could benefit from the right therapy. Your quality of life should be as little effected by an injury as possible and there are some fantastic options other than surgery. You need to see a good manual therapist. My suggestion is an experienced Chiropractor. I will admit I am biased and very much appreciate the profession of chiropractic but I also know the results of conservative treatments and have heard far too many stories like yours or sad stories about unnecessary surgeries and poor outcomes. If you need a recommendation for a good and well studied Chiropractor dont hesitate to ask me personally if you need. I can make calls and do some homework on your area. best of luck to you sir. - Stan Hanna

Dr. do you have any tips for those with Fibromyalgia? If I try to tighten muscles I could cause a bad spasm. Thank you! I really like your videos!

Fibromyalgia isn't real. It's what people say they have when they don't want to work.

Say that to the millions of folks who suffer from it daily. I have it and work, but its painful as hell. Hope you never have to experience the "fake" pain that you describe.

I have a lot of trauma to my stomach muscles because of complications from medicine and that left me with my stomach muscles lock up so tight it felt unnatural and was extremely painful. After going to a wise man he gave me different pressure points and gave me a regiment of walking in drinking lots of water and after a year and a 1/2 the tightness came out of my belly.
The problem is a couple days later the tight muscles showed up in all of my appendages like my legs arms and shoulders.
Any suggestions on how to loosen chronically tight muscles.
I also believe I have chronic low magnesium but I have been taking supplements which have been helping a lot.
Thank you ahead of time for any advice, be blessed you're doing a great job! Love your work

Thank you for this video, I am starting these stretches and techniques today hoping for relief-do you have a similar video for back cracking? I also have a constant urge to crack my middle back below my shoulder blades. I know it’s bad but I can’t seem to find relief otherwise!
