There is another glitch that isn't talked about that I do instead because it's a lot faster to get stuff, but you can only do it in sections of the game where you fight the Dividers. If you have the flame damage upgrade for the plasma cutter and kill it while it's in stasis, it will drop an endless amount of items. You MUST keep the body in stasis for it to continuously drop items so make sure you have some recharge packs and save before you fight them if you messed up

What are dividers? I've never learned what each enemy is called. I'm a little embarrassed by that bc I've 100% each game and am almost done with impossible on the remake.
@@Illusive_Batman Don't worry, if it makes you feel better, I had to Google the monster's name before I made this post so you're not alone lol. The tall skinny necromorph that splits into different enemy parts when you slice them off
@@Illusive_Batman Dividers are those tall lanky dudes that continue attacking you as their individual separated limbs, appendages and head. There aren't that many encounters with them.
This trick is still working as of April 16th.
The simple explanation is you get free ammo. The pulse rifle is automatically reloaded every time you upgrade a capacity node. To benefit from this you'll need to start with an empty capacity node and less ammo in your gun than its full capacity. If the gun is not less than capacity simply pop a proximity mine. Then go to the bench to upgrade the closest capacity node. This will reload the pulse rifle and thus you get free ammo.
Build up a stock pile and/or sell off for credits.
Update in July: Just finished Impossible mode thanks to this trick.

Small point: One of those special upgrades is a significant mag increase. So covering all pink nodes means you actually have one more cycle availible, and the biggest to boot.

@@cholito788 I think this one is by the hangar tram station. Perhaps try and check each tram station to find the one that matches the layout of the store and upgrade bench.

Still works! January 10, 2025! Its in the medical tram location for those wondering.
This and Liner secondary can disarm the mines but the Pulse Rifle uses 25 ammo each. Plus you only just need to upgrade the available cap before resetting.
As of May 3 on Impossible run, doing this in the beginning of Chapter 7 at the mining area. Bench, store, & save points are all in the same room. Slow process but it's working! Ammo does seem to occasionally fall through the floor but it's working.

Chapter 4 in the area where you fight the brute also works, you can access this area earlier and the bench/shop is just a room apart, while the save station is a few walks away
One thing that may discourage you from doing this too much on the harder difficulties is that if you keep going in-between rooms (like how the store and workbench are located at flight control) the game will randomly spawn a necromorph in the room. Since there is no where for them to spawn by the workbench, they spawn in the area below the elevator. By the time I had finished doing this, there were about 6 or 7 necromorphs down there and I was on impossible difficulty

For anyone wondering, you need 152 power nodes for the, "maxed out" trophy. Meaning to get all 152 nodes by using only this method will take 1,520,000 credits to buy them all and grinding out 138 power nodes took me roughly 8 hours with the 2 pulse rifle upgrades for capacity and 21 inventory slots
In 8 hours you could beat the game twice.

How you drop the ammo?
@@Fly.1017 press R1 to place the mine, press R1 again to remove the mine and leave 25 bullets on the ground instead. Keep doing that until you cant anymore and then upgrade capacity. Rinse and repeat. Once you’re bored, collect all the bullets and sell them(just make sure you have inventory space)

Half the fun of Dead Space is conserving ammo and using stasis to chunk them bones.
I think this method wouldn't very good in a speed run its to time consuming unless you were just gonna use the plasma cutter and max it out plus buy a ton of ammo

Get SP2 as you are getting the 2nd CAP upgrade (DMG, REL, CAP, REL, SP2). Don't save it for last. That'll give you an extra shot every single time after that and not just once. It'll cost an extra node so you don't hit the other CAP upgrade, but it's worth it.
Best spot I’ve found is in the extraction area in mining! There’s a shop, save station and bench all in the same room

@@darkdemon8131 but u gotta walk between rooms. this is enough for game to go "hmm, brother is exploring, let me spawn something in". In my case, i've had babies spawn on the other side of the tram from where the shop is, so they're shooting from far away. The point of this is to make money, so getting hurt or shooting and having to replenish that costs money and makes u have to repeat the process a bit more

The bridge is another good place to do this to since Shop and Bench are 1 room apart after brute breaks through also rush to sp2 for bigger ammo capacity as others have said.
Yes and I dont think it has that problem with the lift where it spawns a horde
I was doing this in this area and as I walked out, I was jumpscared by an necromorph. This was after the patch. I have not once seen a necromorph spawn in this area while doing this before the patch.

i had 2 necromorph types spawn in the shop area after i left the work bench room but they spawn on the opposite side of the tram so i get to avoid them without it being a big problem lol thank god tho haven't had one spawn in the same area tho where it's an up close fight.
@@Thebeardedredrhino I also noticed while doing this that the room with the shop will sometimes go dark once the door opens. I found that out by accidentally opening it while picking up the ammo after basically filling up the workbench room
just the way the game is, they spawn when doing certain actions or entering exiting stuff like that
This is a great hack!
A couple pointers to keep in mind…
-The necros will morph at the bottom of the elevator after you’re done.
-shoot your pulse rifle at the wall creating a pile of ammo. It’s easier than spreading it all over the floor, especially if you’re trying to open the bench or the door leading to the store, it can be frustrating.

Oh just a quick FYI - I tested this for science, if you have more ammo loaded than the default when you reset it at the bench, you simply lose that extra ammo.
I reloaded with the spare 75 rounds I had out of 100 max capacity @ this stage of the game, reset it and it took my gun down to 50. The other 25 rounds didn't go into my inventory they simply got deleted so just be careful about that and never reset the upgrades before emptying the PR (or make sure you don't have more than 50 loaded)
Oh and there's no need to stack them all on the ground you can simply disarm the mines immediately after placing them and pick them up, just don't reload.
This sounds really useful for a hardcore run

You can do this with line racks as well, but after doing the math, pulse rounds are the way to go. Pulse is 50% more profit when using this exploit. Nice video

Did you know that after doing this, it spawns about a dozen necromorphs at the bottom of the elevator!? I am uploading a video of it now, I hope people see it bc it was horrifying to go down and see it, I panicked lol

FYI - (PS5) If you don't want the game to update after this, you MUST turn the network connection OFF in network settings. If you don't, it will download the latest update when you start the game and then it will install the update the second time you start the game, even if you have ALL auto update settings turned off.
It's 2024 and no, it's not "fixed" because there is nothing to fix - this is the game working as designed.
In Dead Space 2, they introduced tripmine detonator, that had the ability to disarm deployed tripmines and turn them back into ammo. Pulse rifle shot a grenade just like in Half-Life 2.
In this remake, they combined the detonator and pulse rifle's secondary fire, shooting a proximity mine, allowing you to recover ammo from poorly-placed mines.
It makes sense because in survival horror games, resource management is an important skill.
You spend in-game hours hustling for the nodes achievement, that's your way to get it, devs understand. This is OK.
June 04, 2023: Still works on PC (Steam). You basically need 12 nodes and 5000 CR. Every time you complete the farm "cycle" you get 800 bullets = 20k CR , so you have 20k - 5k (reset price) = 15k CR of profit per cycle.
This is the most profitable way of course, you can do it with less

Dead Space 2 also had the infinite node glitch, which I was able to exploit for Hard Core mode. Hard Core mode was STILL brutal with all the upgrades I had
@@intensexhumming Hardcore is just no save cheese, which would be fine if the game played fair but it has way too much clunk to be justified. Zealot is much more fair, bust still a little too easy, wish they originally made something harder than zealot and hardcore but WITH saves, like LITERALLY near zero ammo and health, i'd always end up stupidly stacked up by endgame

Confirming that this still works: 9/5/2023. One thing to note: I was in the exact same spot as the video, and at one point when I entered the bench I felt my controller vibrate. Thought nothing of it, but when I came out of the bench there was a sleeping necromorph right in front of the save spot by the elevator. I left it alone and it just slept the entire time. The game didn't like that so much time had passed and nothing had made an attempt to eat me, so it set a trap.
Hit it with stasis and stomped it to pieces -- turns out it was a fully intact, dead necromorph that was absolutely not there when I started... somehow that's even creepier.

For anyone wondering, the devs have not sent any patches or updates. Whatever glitches that are in the game now will be staying. This one is still working
Don’t forget to rush to sp2 it greatly increases capacity it wil get you more out of the 5k you spend
Yes this path nets you over 6k more per reset which more than covers the cost of resetting nodes. Much more efficient
This glitch works as of 4/15/24 like actually word to everything. Went from 100k credits to 500k in like 2 hours 😂
Thanks for sharing. I'm not going to use it either. Cool to know that it's there, but with the game having NG+ and some new stuff for that second playthru, I don't think this is necessary unless I want to do an impossible run or something.

Also bro if you don't know already, if you attempt the game on impossible, you can still stay in impossible mode if you quit BEFORE and DURING your death animation. Load your last save in the mode, and you'll still be able to continue the game in impossible mode. Just do not wait too long if you just died, as soon as you die, hit the start button to exit back to main menu.

Just tried this and seems to still be working (March 25). Definitely a slow grind, which gives a feel for the environment the game puts you in (making ~25k credits a process, don't have lvl 3 on the pulse rifle, but the spending and upgrading is still slow).
As of 2024 January 1st, tested this and still works, happy new year and good hunting!
I think there's another one using stasis on a certain enemy later in the game, but I've not looked into it, this one is the widely discovered and safest option though, I personally used this to upgrade first and later on dupe Line Gun ammo. heh@@eden20111

1. Have your skill tree upgraded as much as possible, preferably have the pink extend ammo upgrade bought.
2. Have a fully loaded Pulse Rifle, R1 all to the ground EXCEPT 1, don't empty it all, prevent reload.
3. Go to the workbench, reset the pulse rifle with 5000 credits.
4. Re-buy upgrades until you reach the first pink ammo+ upgrade, exit workbench and you will see your gun is fully reloaded. repeat step 2 (remember not to empty it all, leave 1 ammo in gun),
5. open workbench upgrade Pulse Rifle until 2nd pink ammo upgrade. exit workbench and your gun is full again.
repeat this process and at the end of all the available ammo upgrades, pick all of the ammo you R1'ed on the floor up, sell it to the store.

Before you start your impossible playthrough? Not possible as far as I’m aware. You cannot do new game+ for impossible, you have to start from scratch.
You can do this with line gun to. You don't lose any ammo in process. Ammo sells for just over 3000 compared to 2500.
I need to get on this before it’s patched.
It's an exploit not a glitch meaning it won't be patched, not without a game changing patch to the weapon itself.
@@Illusive_Batman Gtav had money exploits left, right & centre for online mode and they always get patched, the moment the devs catch on to this it'll get patched. it don't make a difference whether its a glitch or a exploit, the only time they never get patched is when the devs stop updating the game all together and move on.

Impossible brother. If you have the Pulse Rifle & 9 Nodes you make a hella profit out of it. Last night in 1 hour and 20 minutes I made around 170.000. Pay attention to the video and You will be able to do it!

there's a store, a bench and save machine right between each other in the mininig dock deck A preparation, save me a lot of time just walking to each one.. man i really wanted some fast cash and a way to maximize each weapon, going through playthroughs just to do them all is trouble some, a little short cut wont hurt😉

I decided not to use this on my first play through on hard cause like you I enjoy the authentic experience as well. But for my new game plus+ run I’ll probably use this.
By NG+ it’s practically worthless because you’ll have naturally upgraded your stats through normal means.
just did this and i can say you should also go down the path for SP2 unload you gun before you grab it than grab the upgrade and you'll have at least 1 shot for the mine allowing you to get more credits and since your cap is greatly increased when you grab the pink caps you get the ammo from them all the way too the max so you'll be getting more ammo.

@@kewinabea5439 yes it does lol tbh I'm using it now on steam cause fck not having credits on this game and my keys are close together so i sometimes accidentally waste stasis packs and medkits when i don't need them.
tbh if your spending the time to do this i see nothing wrong with it cause it's already time consuming add on the fact that even in medium difficulty if your not precise with you shots and use everything around you to max potential and not play on steam with a mouse and keyboard lol it's already hard enough to maintain all your resources and they don't have mobs spawn as often for you to farm credits any other way so if anyone wants to waste time doing it than as the saying goes be my guest lol.
Just a heads up, you cannot go into Impossible mode with a new game plus+. So if you do this you’ll still be starting from scratch on impossible!

Funny how the item exploit glitch is never getting patched in all main Dead Space games.
You can also do this with the line gun, if you have 10k and enough nodes for all capacity upgrades for both, you can speed up the money making loop a lot

For those asking, yes, this is working as of today. It’s a slow process and your gains in credit can be slow. I acquire around 31,500 after selling. It takes me four resets of 5,000 each. Meaning I walk away with 11,500 credits. Worth it? I believe so. It’s a process.
If you follow the node path to sp2 before the rest, you will net 18,750 per reset, fill your inventory with 3 resets, and sell all that for a net total of 56,250 credits
2:24 They could patch it out of the game by making capacity node upgrade not refill your magazine.
This would suck because upgrading a capacity node was a nice way to refill some ammo when playing legitimately, but it would remove the exploit.
Why would the developers even want to patch this? This credit exploit shouldn't even need to be done, there should be an option in the settings where you can get unlimited credits, unlimited ammo, and unlimited health. Not that I would be using it, because I like to be challenged in a game, or I get bored and quit. But some people enjoy playing invincible and with unlimited ammo. If you PAY for a game, you own the game, so you should be able to play it any way you want.

The mining area is the best place to do this. Everything is in the same room. Saves a lot of time. I'm netting 19k with fully upgraded pulse rifle per reset.
The thing is I don’t think they will patch it anyway considering they never patched the duping glitches in the other 3 game’s either but if they did I’d be surprised

Thank you bro! Dead Space is my all time favorite game and I finally got a PS5 to play the remake! This was a blast to exploit and I always play on the hardest setting. Doing this is incredibly addictive. I had to make myself stop so I could get back to playing the game.😂 over the internet fist bump! I wish I could do more for you than just a like!

Nice to know! I’m almost done on my impossible run, but I’d love to have all 4 guns maxed out. The best place to do this is at Mining, where they have a safe spot, bench, and store in the same room.
@SteelHex enemies will randomly spawn sometimes there and I had the ammo fall through the floor sometimes so that's why I did my farming in Hydroponics

Also the devs shouldn't fix this. Glitches like this shouldn't be patched cuz you gotta go outta your way to do it. And it would REALLY help people having issues with Impossible mode.

The could patch this out by putting a timer on how often you can reset. Make it like once per hour. It wouldnt affect anyone playing the game normally but would close this loop pretty definitively.

once you get the force gun, just store all other weapons and move thru the game using only stasis + stomp, maybe a force blast if you need to weaken enemies. but every single drop will be force gun ammo, which sells for 6K per clip. much faster for a NG+ run
So I had 133k credits then did the whole bench thing 3x and ended up with only 130k after selling it. Is this right?
did u max out the pusle rifle level power up skills, you should have way more if im not mistaken

If this still works, what i want to do is buy the max amount of Nodes. I bought the game recently and noticed the game allows you to buy more than a 1000, so if the limit is 9999, that's gonna be 99,990,000 credits.
Crazy how sometimes this exploit can spawn tons of random enemies, luckily I didn't have to return back down in the lift.
The Devs took significant inspiration from Alien Isolation's Director AI and Resident Evil 2/3 ReMake's Difficulty Adjustment system when they created a AI system (Referred to as the Intensity Director or Aggressor AI) that replaces much of the static scripting from the original game. The more items you have, credits, accuracy, health and other factors will be accounted for in determining the probability and location for non-static spawns. To quote the Remake's Technical Director David Robillard: "We needed to find a way to fill those gaps, so that the player doesn't feel like 'Oh, I've been here, it's fine, I'm safe'. No, you're never safe. Like, you will get jumped. Somebody wants your lunch money, and they're not friendly."
Better thing is you do this by moving all ur usable stuff to storage for extra trophy and do this glitch for money

You could do the same thing with other secondary fire weapons that lay traps. I believe the line gun is one, and these weapon's ammo sells for much more.

Launch a bed of lasers, press the button to deactivate and pick up the rack. I never tried it but it works the same.

They could introduce time-to-live with those fired but undetonated things. So like 20 seconds then it goes off or disappears or something.
EDIT: Nvm, I realized it's a proximity thing, not an impact thing with safety arming distance that protects if you yeet it too close. So having a short TTL would not be desirable.
