This seriously is one of the more legit RB install videos on youtube. I like how cleanly the rear was done & how actual sealer was used instead expanding foam.
Thanks so much! We try to show the entire process and do it right.
People use expanding foam? The fuck?
Props to you guys, it is the best job I've seen on youtube on the rear quartel panel sealling operation. It is a really clean job. Congrats. If I had to change one thing I would have first spray painted the edge where you grinded it just to be 100% sure rust won't get there
I believe they did that on the last over fender install they did in the BAS2k.
You can see on the scene when they put the sealer it is bare metal, If you paint it would be best paint before sealer because it is bare metal
alexda oe
Gotcha.
Would you paint it with like an epoxy primer? Just wondering in case I do something like this...
yes
One of the best RB install videos I have seen. Made it look easy AF. Im sure there is a lot more to it but that's the same with anything when its watching a video VS actually doing it.
A couple small things werent shown but the meat and potatoes is there so hopefully it gives you a good idea of the process.
Really clean and thorough work guys....best rocket bunny install i've seen to date. Hopefully you encourage other shops to follow suit.
Hands down most professional install ive seen on YT.
Ken is the rocket bunny master! 👏
great informative video. will definitely refer to it when I install my over fenders
Thansk!
Ken looks like he works at home depot
That where i get most of my mods from
This makes me appreciate the high prices workshops take for this kind of work here in Germany. It does require finesse and knowledge.
To say I am not a fan of rocket bunny stuff is an understatement, that being said good job on the video and the installation.
Once again great content and very informative. Also Ken is killing it!Thanks for the vid guys :)
Thanks for sharing this piece of artwork with us. I learned many things from this video. 1 day I'll do mods like this on my car.
Nice clean install, well done, Ken.
But you didn't really cover how you extended the inner wheel wells.
Ken you the real mvp such a tidy operator
1) Watching this at midnight after work probably wasn't the best idea, being the considerate bastard that I am, I kept fiddlin' with my speaker's volume as to not wake up my housemates.
2) While I like RocketBunny kits, I couldn't possibly bring myself to put my 86 under the knife!
3) I surely hope he gets wheels; and doesn't use massive spacers!
4) Brilliant video, as always!
same lol
I always get nervous watching people cut up cars but another job well done by Ken!
Now this is professional work
Brandon Chavez Surprised he didn't use rivet nuts instead.
So happy you guys didn't do this to your Scion-"all go no show"-FRS, I hope you guys do more with that thing.
So cool how you guys can make an 12minute episode without met getting the urge to skip some pars, It's a bit of youtube magic we still need to learn..... Thanks for yet another cool episode
Cheers
TwoBeardsOneCar
Thats a huge compliment! Thanks for watching.
Props on the workmanship!
This is the most detailed (bodykit)tutorial video I've ever encountered in yt
What this needed was a side, front, back and birds eye view of the finished product.
really informative compared to other videos, thank you ken for the guide!
Glad you enjoyed it, its a team effort
Glad you enjoyed it, its a team effort
Hello?... hello... hello... Echo... echo... echo... Pinch hitting for Pedro Borbon... Manny Mota... Mota... Mota...
Solid video! one of the best. explained everything really well
Thanks so much!
Quality work Ken .
Nice work ken !
I bet he cooks a mean lumpia with that apron, great vid.
very informative Ken! good vid
This is a really great guide on how to install flares/overfenders on any car really. Though I'm surprised you guys didn't use some foam tape or do some caulking between the edges of the flare and where it meets the original guard.
I really enjoyed this ! Very good job :)
Great workmanship...
I like Ken, he talks normally rather than like he is in some kind of 80s porno.
One suggestion tho, 12 minutes of that music loop could make you go funny.
Bahahaha best comment so far! Thanks!
Really enjoy the build
awesome job...very neat install.
really really clean job ..awesome !!
About TIME!
When you rivet in plastic, you can put a washer (same size as the rivet)on the back side to keep it from pulling through. It will pull way tighter too.I used to do it when fixing bumper covers at my old shop.
Thanks for the great tip!
Very professional. Neat job!
Thank you!
You guys did a great job installing... I just donèt understand why people insist on this kit unless their rocking some high power.
What does power have anything to do with a body kit?
omg love the channel bro...I'm 14 and this is my dream car😍now I know what all somewhat to do..keep up the good work
i mean at least its not a gtr. thank god.
88332 subbers, you guys deserve much more!
Good job guys looks mint
I want these guys to install my kit!!
awesome video, very discriptive
Nice to see some addressing of the water/rust issues, but I'd be gooping that thing up with inhibitor like crazy while I still had access, assuming the edges weren't welded. Hopefully those rivets are stainless!
Ken with the snazzy apron
YOu should see him in the kitchen haha
top notch work
Another tip you can backup rivets with washers (rivet washers) so they wont pull through the plastic
damn Ken is a pro!
Great job!
Nice job! I wish you were located local to instal a rocket bunny kit on my car !
Awesome! I'm 15 now and planning to get this car when I turn 20-23, it's been a dream car of mine for a long time now.
im 17 and am thinking the same
I'm 30 and thinking the same.
ExTremeHYPE same here, i'm 19 and i love this car, i need one
I am 40 and I. thinking the same
I just turned 45 1/2 and Im still thinking the same thing.
It is very important to use primer under the seal!
i did a widebody on a porsche 10 years ago. i had some really beautiful anodized rivets. seems those would give you a nicer look.
on the bumper couldn't you stick a small piece of sheet metal or aluminum behind it to give the rivet something to grab?
awesome job guys it looks bad as the rocket body kit looks fucking awesome!... Super job guys can't wait to see when it's finished finished!...
Well put video
I love this installation, can you do my subaru brz please?
verry professional
what happened to the brz drift build?
Hey! Great video can you please link me where you got the fenders.
Sheet metal body kit best or fibre glass body kit best bro 🤔
You sure you guys were not minitruckers first lol. Nice job 👍🏼
How do you know how much of the body panel to cut off? And why do you do that in the first place? after watching a few videos I'm still confused.
Great video as always guys! It's the most descriptive I've seen yet!
When you mock the over fender up, it'll give you a very good idea where and how much to cut off. If you're scared then just do it in small increments!
Speed Academy Okay, thanks guys! I'm planning on installing a Rocket Bunny Kit
on my first car, a Mazda RX-7. That is, if I'm able to get it before it's gone...
Also, this is the second time you guys have replied to a comment of mine, unlike most others! I wonder why this channel isn't bigger... I can't express how excited I am too!
Would you paint the fender before applying the overfender with rust paint?
Soo how does It do during the winter and the rainy season?
Wheel spacers are like push-up bras, they make things look good, but when you start taking things off you realize it was all an illusion.
If you do the math, wide wheels like 12 or 14 sacrifice the offset making very easy to extend the inner side of the wheels, if you have brembos or get too close to the suspension, you will have to use spacers. most people with wide body fenders are using spacers. skinny tires and wheels look bad with or without spacers, but they are rated by manufacturers,
@@djnekkon what wheels would u recommend
@@bkackmagic555 i have enkie rs05rr which will make yours even better than mine. Functional and lightweight. Also enkei RF1. Check my channel if you want to see them on my 350.
5:28 The moment the internet unanimously went "JUST GET A GUARD!!" :P
Also
DONT EVER WHEAR GLOVEX DOING THAT!
What did you do for the side markers in the front? Take them off and their assembly or cut it off?
Hurt to watch you guys cut up the car but the final results came out amazing.
Do you NEED to weld or is there an alternative to sealing the fenders after cutting and folding.. I dont have a welder 😕
Once the bracket for the rear bumper is removed, is it re-installed when you're finished or is there another way to pull the bumper and fender together?
What size rims went back on this? Width and total size. Or what size spacers to make the offset work?
I've been playing with the idea of a RB fender kit, but I keep coming back to the idea of just buying a whole fender that's wider, and then only worrying about installing the rear RB fender. Does that make more sense or do ya'll think it would it mess with the overall look?
What’s the correct size spacers to install ?
What size cleco pins and nutserts do you use?
How do you figure out where to cut on the factory panels exactly ??
is there anything to do about the visibility of those screws? so the body looks more uniform all around
I would've personnaly used a wider head aluminum rivet like Speedway Motors sells but maybe just me. Plus they come in black so they'd blend in better.
Can you please tell me what sealant you used
i always wondered, water doesn't enter between the quarter panel and the rocket bunny?
So for the front how do you seal the fender so it doesn’t rust ?
i have a question,if you have a toyota gt86 and you change its whole frame material to carbon fiber, will that change the car's identity to a new car or is it still a gt86?
Nice video guys. Where has your brz gone? Haven't seen it in a while.
FRS is with Toyota Canada, still in limbo.
Hey guys way you located an is the rocket bunny kit hard plastic or fiber glass can the kit flex or if you touch something you brake the kit up? Just asking befor l
Buy the rocket bunny kit
Idk I would've just sprayed some quality 2k epoxy primer over those welds, then Add a good automotive seam sealer over, but that's just me
what types of tools are needed? can you list them, please :)... Im quite new, but I plan to install a kit by myself.
what rivits did you guys use?
3:27 rip headphone users
How did you paint match the fenders?
Can someone plz tell me what size and spec are the tires and rims all together
Hey guys I got a V2 Rocket bunny kit on and i need help. can you please tell me how can i still keep the front fender guard liners because mine came off and now i dont know how to exactly put it back.
Hey Guys, do you know how much it was to Paint Match the RBV1 fenders to the asphalt color? Looking to do the exact same
May I ask what wheels you have on the frs and the specs?
I'd love to see more Ass2000 track and build videos
We'll get back to it soon. We're just waiting on our buddy Kev (Kswift) to find some time to build an air box for us.
What’s sizes of rims I have to buy for a width body kit?
Would this same process work will a 350z
So the rear already comes with the clearance needed for the rear tires/wheels... I'm still confused on why when installing this kit people cut it for clearance.
@Speed Academy how long did it take? Looks awesome. I am not sure about to put a RB kit on my GT86
Spent two days on it.
How do you seal the front fenders???
