Don’t you have to use a rivet gun first to hold the fenders or can you use the screws that come in with the kit ?
Great vid, but maybe you should put protective covering above the working area to protect the pain about the kit panels that will still be visible. I like to use either soaked linens or a straight up tarping material. The welding burns look pretty long there @ 9:29.
The welding residue wipes off the car.
I'm guessing you MIG'd it then.
Thank you for this vid! Not many v3 install guides. Been waiting for my kit for about 2 months now, how long did yours take to arrive? Also, did hardware come with the kit?
The owner of the car waited 5 months to get this kit in, if you order a legit RBV3 kit it should always come with the hardware and rubber lining.
Awesome thanks for the reply! Yeah I ordered directly from pandem and they quoted me 6-10 weeks but it looks like thats not happening haha. Sucks because all my other parts for widebody have come in and I'm just waiting for the kit now.
Where did you get the sparco plate's holder ?
I haven’t seen you putting any lining under the wheel hood to prevent that cut out area get exposed to debris and water

Self tapping screws are included with the authentic kits.

What was the wheel spacer size?
So correct me if I'm wrong because I'm getting my Rocket Bunny Pandem V3 kit in a couple days. Running a -60 total offset in the rear and a -10 offset in the front? I thought it called for a -40 front and -50 rear. I had planned on buying -15 offset 18x9 wheels with a 25mm spacer in the front and a 30mm spacer in rear. I'm probably not understanding the offset math tbh, so any clarification you could offer would be a huge help before I purchase my wheels.
I'm trying to buy wheels for my kit I just bought as well. What did you end up going with?

For Installation and paint, around 1500. You would need to source wheels and tires.

would it be bad to have a square setup with the 285 tires on the front and back? Or would it just look dumb
As long as you have nice fitment. Spacers might be needed.
Respect to people who wide-body their FRS/BRZ ... but I think I love the stock body lines to much.

You'll need to measure the distance from the edge of the wheel to the hub, and compare that to the the body panel to hub measurement.

The over fender Rubber lining comes included with authentic kits, didn't have to buy separate. But oems like Honda and Toyota sell "Rubber Lining," as well as amazon or ebay.
i have a question, can u install the v3 rocket bunny front just the fornt bumper with v1 front and rear fenders???
You can but It wont look right as the v3 bumper is way wider than the v1 front fenders

Could I install the v3 front bumper without the fender flares or should I just buy it when I can afford it ?
The original mounting is chopped off when clearance is cut for the kit. The side clips and bolts now rely on the front arches to hold the bumper. I would personally wait.

You can buy the kit for a lot cheaper if you buy it off fly 1 Motorsports website, I think for like 2250.
Are you cutting the original body to fit the new kit ?
Yes, This is the case with every widebody, otherwise, the wheel could not make use of the added clearance provided by the over fender.

Watching this video as if I have $10k for kit, wheel, air suspension, and paint.
More than that if you want air suspension and paint 💀 the kit itself 4K paint is 3k good airlift is 3k and a nice wheel setup 2-4K

I got quoted 13k after tax for bags and a rocket bunny v2 unpainted. So with good wheels/paint and other shit like headlights, ur looking at 20k minimum to fully build an frs, and that doesnt include price of the car lmao

I know this video is 1 year old... but if I were to have someone else install my body kit, where and how should I search for auto shops that does that?
I would ask other Rocketbunny owners where they installed their kit. Any body shop will have the skill to install a kit, but a trusted installer will make sure it fits right.
@@JonnyBarajas yea I want a trustworthy person to install the kit, I dont want them to accidentally cut the fenders too long or something... I wish I could drive all the to AZ and ask you for help 😂😂😂

wheeladapter.com can make you any size spacer.
What are the dimensions of what you cut out?
Between 1-.5 inches from the edge of the Over fender placement determined after an initial test fit.

@@benicetotommy7088 Yes, if you watch the multiple body kits I install, they are sealed with glaze and then painted over to seal with 2 layers. Others might not do the same.
Good luck driving in snow with any body kit
Should I got the v2 or v3
Personally I like the V1, flares, v2 ducktail wing, but the v3 is def a better looking kit to the v2. But if you aren't bagged on a v3, you won't have nice fitment guaranteed.

I don't really understand kits like this on generally slow cars? If you're spending 15-20k on making an FRS meaner why wouldn't you just get a meaner car stock? I do like that color on the kit, though.
Aesthetics are purely subjective. A RWD 200hp from the 80's and 90's were titled as "supercars" now they are considered "slow", again subjective. Plus any car can be modified to to dominate, especially in motorsport, This is done all the time. Opinions on preferences and choices will always be present, that's why we choose to do what we like and think looks cool. Sometimes it's more cost effective than the above mentioned option, or they don't want a stock car. Yes, I just happened to have some time.

This is an example of low budget ricing. Spacers are a cheap, bad idea: the geometry of the spindle is now changed and will put strain on the bearings, they will burn out frequently, or worse, snap.
Glazing over raw metal is another bad idea, eventually in a few seasons the glaze will separate from the metal and rust will happen.
This is fine if you want a BS "performance" look and don't plan to keep the car long, but avoid buying one of these down the road.
Stop. Get some help.
