Gteat to see you rebuilding those GM trucks all the other stuff is good but for some reason I don't think anyone knows those trucks better than you keep those builds coming !
Its good to see you revive these old trucks and put them back on the road. You should really be teaching repair shop classes to the bad hacks out there.
This is amazing! This was my truck. I was the only owner, bought it brand new in 2002 and drove it until my 17 year old son rolled it! Are you gonna sell it? Or keep it?
I love Vehcor's channel as an avid automotive enthusiast and mechanic myself I find his videos are educational, informative, and relaxing..... His skills paired with the vast knowledge and dry humor he adds to the channel makes his videos the golden content that I've come to know and love over the past few years... Keep pumping out that quality content, amazing stuff man!!!
The windshield removal tool may not be standard procedure for safelite, but it is for volunteer firefighters when they extricate patients. Love the content. My dad rebuilt vehicles for 40 years, so watching these videos takes me back to my childhood of watching him take something like this or any other vehicle you have done and make it look brand new.
That's awesome your saving this one and its red too!People really dont know how rare regular cab shortbed 4x4s are and they are by far the best looking.Too bad this one isnt 5 speed manual, that's only thing that would have made it better.
Just got home from Portsmouth, NH. Fought traffic all day. Thank goodness Scott I had a great unwind video tp watch. Great rebuild this is gonna be. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and be well.
This was my dad's truck and my brother wrecked it when I was in 3rd grade and I loved that truck very much. My dad had it custom ordered from Oklahoma and I glad to know it wasn't just a metal chunk
Did this sort of work with my dad back in Australia for many years. Love what you do and how you go about it. Look forward to your video's every week. Awesome stuff
I only live in Illinois because family is around here, otherwise I'd be in a snowless location. Have bought many cars from Arkansas and the south because "no rust". Rust sucks big time and why pay for it if you can drive a few miles south and not have to deal with it. Most of the cars I've bought in AR have had razorback decals on the rear window. Go Hogs! Always look forward to your rebuilding videos!
I love how you have identified a solid market space. Get "rust free" fixable wrecks for peanuts, put some time and peanuts into it and sell it for a pallet load of peanuts. You be making money where few dare to tread.
What a pleasant surprise to have your video to watch on this Saturday morning! Our Springboks are playing Australia later this morning, as they are about 6 hours ahead of us here in South Africa.
9:00 The "Road Test" is a very good idea, I was thinking about where the engine oil goes when the truck was upside down and how long it kept running. I also like how you drove down what looks like the main street in town. Nice! Looking forward to the build, as always.. 💪
Another "GREAT" production Scott! Amazing vehicle condition from a "rust-free" state even if it has a few hard miles on it. Surely when you finish up it'll be "Better than NEW" Have a great weekend and a relaxing Labor Day! 😎
Nice job finding that one! They are kind of rare. I had its twin but better looking sister, 2002 RCSB Z-71 4.8 with a 5 speed in dark green. I loved that truck, it is one of the few I regret letting go of.
Great looking truck. Just some small dents, a few new plastic parts, some pulling and pushing and after installing the glass and new tires it's ready to roll. Love it!
if you don't believe this, track down the Vice Grip Garage video where he buys a '67-sh AMC from Cleetus McFarland that somebody had set the engine back into the front seat. Sketchy as all hell but Derek did try to drive it home. True Florida Man car.
Enjoy your videos--great job! Had to laugh; back in the mid 70's started my first job, traveling all over the state of AR to rural communities. First thing I noticed was that everybody drove short bed pickups (this was before the days of crewcabs) instead of our long bed pickups we were accustomed to on the farm in MO. And a bunch of then in Eastern AR, in the rice area, were 4WD. Maybe it's the same today.
Not sure why when I started watching this I thought it was going to be a one video rebuild. I guess I'm just use to Scott's efficiency. Can't wait to see it done.
Did that front wheel drive in my 88 ranger when the u joint went out only had to drive 25 miles to home and fix it up, really fun when you use your belt to hold up the drive shaft.
Nice Pontiac GTo body shell in the background at 4:42 . That would go for crazy amounts of money in Australia, where it is originally from, as a Holden Monaro.
Thanks for showing this truck... I have a truck modified by a 4' oak tree which got the bed and cab... Not sure what the body man has in mind, but I like what you are doing and will follow the build. You are interesting and keep it real...
I drove my 1976 Sierra 2500 home after rolling it. 28 miles without a front and rear wiindshield. Had it fixed and drove it for another 4 years before selling it.
This video kind of applies to my regular cab '89 GMC pickup... a tree fell on it last winter and caved in roof. It's not as bad as this one though, it didn't break any of the glass and the doors still open. It fared better than my '79 Trans Am that was parked next to it.
Hey that’s basically my truck (mine’s the GMC flavour)… and mine isn’t smashed up….yet😁😁😁😁…. Nice to see a build so close to home so to speak!!!! Be waiting for this one..
Look at you filling with both hands and they say men can’t multi task. Great video and I’m looking forward to seeing you turn that scraper into $ 👍🏻🏴
2:34 a buddy had one, same year same colour. He bought it from BC where they don't use salt. It ran like a top. 3 years in Ontario? frame and rockers GONE. He had the side steps and in year 2 they busted off when he stepped on them due to the rust.....
My wife's '05 K1500, 5.3 LS Crew Cab, short bed 4WD is red too. She wanted a "small pickup truck" to carry her 3-wheel bike to places where she rides with her girlfriends. I just got it out of the paint shop for a redo of the roof and the tailgate -- $1800.00. Gack. I don't paint any more and sure was caught sucking wind at that price --- but it's for her and she's happy. Watch the oil pressure on these 5.3s since they have oil pressure failures! BT : DT! Following this one closer than usual.
Terrifying trailer unloading scream was a solid 9 out of 10! 👍 Curious to see how you fix this cab. Was a fairly nice truck before wreck! Lots of “in the pile” coming our way! LOL
The best rebuild channel on youtube
Showing real things done to real cars anyone can afford
I have better luck selling a 20 year old truck than a Lambo, so it works out! 😂
That casually “missed a gear” @17:15 had me rolling, love the great sense of humor you get to in your videos
I had no idea Chevrolet made a "flat top" edition of these trucks. LOL. Thanks again for another fun build, Scott.
It was an effort to improve fuel economy! 😂
@@vehcor the body structure is quite a flip flop but you will make it better than new - amazing work you deliver
Scott is back at it again! Best quality builds on the Tube. Looking forward to this build. Keep up the Great work Scott!
Thanks, for the support!
i cant wait to see you work on the mustang again!
Gteat to see you rebuilding those GM trucks all the other stuff is good but for some reason I don't think anyone knows those trucks better than you
keep those builds coming !
Its good to see you revive these old trucks and put them back on the road. You should really be teaching repair shop classes to the bad hacks out there.
No step for a high stepper. You make it look so easy and not one foul word. Hats off to the master.
This is amazing! This was my truck. I was the only owner, bought it brand new in 2002 and drove it until my 17 year old son rolled it! Are you gonna sell it? Or keep it?
We have some before pics and some 'afters' too.
You really outdid yourself this time Scott, thanks for the laughs and the great start of the weekend.
I love how you pick up cars from my younger days... wait. Oh we are the same age! Awesome.
Morrilton Devil Dogs. That made me smile. Greetings from Arkansas...
I love Vehcor's channel as an avid automotive enthusiast and mechanic myself I find his videos are educational, informative, and relaxing..... Love the 99-07 Silverado content!
Easy to work on, easy to sell. I like them too!

I own a 2010 model year of this build sheet. Mine is a Z71 RCSB just like this one is. Yes, you are right. They are rare.
Whoa, random! My parents used to own a restaurant in Morrilton, AR. Worlds colliding!
Ran across your video and recognized the scenery. What a small world!
Your always making me laugh with your dry sense of humor or sarcasticness. Love it!!!
Im happy to see someone fixing such an old truck its in to nice of shape anyways to just scrape it
Did this sort of work with my dad back in Australia for many years. Love what you do and how you go about it. Look forward to your video's every week. Awesome stuff
Did you see the Monaro ( GTO) bodyshell in the background at 4:42 ?
Good to see another GMT800 on the channel. Love these trucks. I have like 4 of them waiting to be fixed. Pretty easy to work on and they sell well.
Always fun to watch you win, not that it would be any other way. See you next Friday.

Your window removal skills are excellent.
I will include this video on my resume for Safelite. 😂
sometimes I think you do these rebuilds just to see how many people you can trigger. I love it.
Scott is a class act!! His work is flawless and 100% done correctly. I wish there were more craftsmen like him. Thank you for your videos.
This is gonna be a very interesting build. The average working man truck. I wish you could find more of these to do.
The scream unloading the trailer is so funny! Thank you for making great videos!
I love how you have identified a solid market space. Get "rust free" fixable wrecks for peanuts, put some time and peanuts into it and sell it for a pallet load of peanuts. You be making money where few dare to tread.
I’m amazed you can straighten that roof out. Thought you were going to cut it off and replace it. Looking forward to the next episode.
One of my favorite channels
Really looking forward to watching this build series. Should be very interesting as the previous ones always have been.
Scott you’re a hero wanting to rebuild a truck with so much damage looking forward to this one, hi from Ireland
Hello
What a pleasant surprise to have your video to watch on this Saturday morning! Our Springboks are playing Australia later this morning, as they are about 6 hours ahead of us here in South Africa.
I don’t comment that much on here but really like these rebuild series! Love your videos man! Be watching for the next one!
I never saw a windshield cut out with a Sawzall before, but I like it!
First time watching this channel. The narration is spot on. Well done
9:00 The "Road Test" is a very good idea, I was thinking about where the engine oil goes when the truck was upside down and how long it kept running. I also like how you drove down what looks like the main street in town. Nice! Looking forward to the build, as always.. 💪
It's so satisfying watching you tear stuff apart. I don't know why.
It’s my favorite part of any build!
I like his teardown method and comments.
Looking forward to future videos
I certainly enjoy watching your expertise! You sure have the knack!
Dang. I bet this is already sold. Looks like video from earlier in the year. Love to have this vehicle👍
Look forward to your shows. I still say you would make a great instructor.
We’ll see, I have a new gnome in training now!
My son wants to be a diesel mechanic, but he’s really interested in body work now. He will be going to shop class next year so we shall see!
A bit surprised to see you fixing the cab not replacing it or at least the roof section.
I love seeing you save these old gmt800 trucks. I do the same thing, I just dont record it
Real cars, real rebuilds and real hard work. Thanks. 👍
as usual, very entertaining , thank you Scott...
Scott as always...awesome video great work.
Another "GREAT" production Scott! Amazing vehicle condition from a "rust-free" state even if it has a few hard miles on it. Surely when you finish up
it'll be "Better than NEW" Have a great weekend and a relaxing Labor Day! 😎
Nice build Scott, looking forward to the cab work, can you please show some of the painting gnomes work in the spray booth.
i second that motion
I’m not around when they are.
2-door short beds are like hens teeth around here. Looking forward to this build!
Nice job finding that one! They are kind of rare. I had its twin but better looking sister, 2002 RCSB Z-71 4.8 with a 5 speed in dark green. I loved that truck, it is one of the few I regret letting go of.
Fantastic video as always Scott! Thank you for showing your process in such great detail!
Good stuff Sir. Best videos on UA-cam that I know about.
Thanks for the support!
Great looking truck. Just some small dents, a few new plastic parts, some pulling and pushing and after installing the glass and new tires it's ready to roll. Love it!
I don’t think he wants to roll it again...🤣
I’m late. My son was born on Wednesday and I’m just getting back home. But I’m here now!
Here in Florida you can register a lawn chair with a rocket zip tied to it, so that truck is actually quite fine - no repairs needed.
if you don't believe this, track down the Vice Grip Garage video where he buys a '67-sh AMC from Cleetus McFarland that somebody had set the engine back into the front seat. Sketchy as all hell but Derek did try to drive it home. True Florida Man car.
“You can register a lawn chair with a rocket zip tied to it”.
-Wile E. Coyote has entered the chat 😂

Literally to the 1% who's reading this, God bless you, and may your dreams come true, stay safe and have a wonderful day.

Such a good little truck, definitely worth saving! Cool build, looking forward to seeing it done
Almost 200K Dude lol very well done! I remember the old days hahaha
By this point you have become the master with GM headliners.
Always good to hear squidward had a good day car pickin!
Nice work. What a beautiful town you live in!
I really like your channel because you work on normal cars not high end that regular guys like me can't afford
I drove my 1976 Sierra 2500 home after rolling it. 28 miles without a front and rear wiindshield. Had it fixed and drove it for another 4 years before selling it.
3:24 Truck's got great aerodynamics.
Fuel economy! 😂
I am very excited about this new project these regular cab trucks are my favorites 🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸
That's going to be an awesome truck. Looking forward to this build.
you and Car Wizard love tearing apart these chevy's
HELL YEA!! CHEVY LIKE A ROCK
👍🏻
Good repair job coming up. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the video.
This man is a mechanical genius.

The best thing about that year range of truck is you could upgrade completely and put power heater leather seats with just a couple plugs
Hey that’s basically my truck (mine’s the GMC flavour)… and mine isn’t smashed up….yet😁😁😁😁…. Nice to see a build so close to home so to speak!!!! Be waiting for this one..
Great video, this will be a cool project! Thanks Scott!
Good old downtown Lemont nice to see it on tv lol
I'm going to subscribe just because I love these trucks. I hope I see you do more of these
I haven't watched it yet but I already liked it.
I just noticed the Morrilton sticker on the back glass that truck is from the town over from me. Crazy small world
you some how make repairing these vehicles look easy , but I know its not easy after doing one myself, good channel by the way
This is going to be a great series. 👍
Look at you filling with both hands and they say men can’t multi task. Great video and I’m looking forward to seeing you turn that scraper into $ 👍🏻🏴
3:04 AAAAHHHHHHHH never gets old!

@15:08.........I was waiting. I couldn't believe you didn't pocket the quarter as you pulled the seat. LOL.
I can’t give away all my rebuilding secrets like where my real money comes from…. the change in the rebuilds. 😂
I am an expert and in my opinion this is going to be a cool build!
Great video, you got any rear window blue plastic molding by chance, top has the dome light it’s a 1989 Chevy single cab Cheyenne
My wife's '05 K1500, 5.3 LS Crew Cab, short bed 4WD is red too. She wanted a "small pickup truck" to carry her 3-wheel bike to places where she rides with her girlfriends. Following this one closer than usual.
First time watching you and enjoyed it.Subscribed and liked!
Love the music at the end.
Looking forward to this build--I had the same truck.
Terrifying trailer unloading scream was a solid 9 out of 10! 👍 Curious to see how you fix this cab. Was a fairly nice truck before wreck! Lots of “in the pile” coming our way! LOL
It will be interesting seeing you repair that cab. More usual to replace it.
Yeah, but the chances of finding a rust free cab that doesn't cost and arm and a leg are slim to none.
Love your videos! Keep them coming
