    I love the closed captions that you have on your video. I am a deaf person, and I love to crochet. It's hard to follow when there's no closed captions. Well done with that, I hope you continues with the closed captions on your videos xx

    I started crochet because initially i wanted to learn to knit. I saw a woman and her kids at chick fil a a few years ago and she was knitting and my mom and her got into a conversation and she reccomended your channel (i think this had to be before they implemented the bell icon) well turns out crochet looks hard and me having autism was like "mayhaps crochet would be easier?" and that's how I got into crochet. Thank you mystery mom lady who I met in a chick fil a! (this was in Gerogia if she happens upon this comment)

    I started again and finished this lovely blanket, then backed it with To the moon and back material. I gave it to my great niece for her 6 month old baby Gracie at Christmas, she was over the moon with it and Gracie loves the feel of the yarn. Thank you

    I am a self taught crochet and have only been doing it for a couple of years. I am a lefty and taught myself by watching the simple crochet stitches videos by people like Mikey. I knew how to knit as my grandma taught me even though it was World War 3 between both of our frustrations as she was right handed and I’m left handed so we had to mirror one another and it was hard however before she could teach me to crochet she passed away.
    I just wanted you to know that I think your explaining the stitches is absolutely fine and your demonstration is nice and slow for me to be able to convert it to left handed. I’m even going to use in my projects that require colour changing your method by putting the tails of previous colour on the bottom and new colour on the top this is the very first video I watched that shows that as apposed to having a gazillion tails. Im glad you make mistakes and fondle with the tarn in the video as it makes me feel like I’m not the only one screwing up as I’m really hard on myself since I’m new so don’t be so hard on yourself your human, plus working with this particular yarn is a lot harder since it’s bulky. Thank you for taking the time to make this video as I’ve enjoyed it and just completed a blanket for my queen size bed. I m also going to put your trick of chaining with a bigger hook and changing to the smaller one to begin rows no one has ever said that in any video that I’ve watched.

    I used this pattern and yarn 7 years ago for a baby. Needed to do another, so came back to you for a refresher in this stitch. Absolutely brilliant! Not sure if i told you this 7 years ago lol but.....Thank you so much!!!🤗🤗 ordering my yarn tomorrow. I remember after a few rows it WAS MINDLESS! Made a gorgeous puffy throw sized blanket that the 7 year old uses daily...😍

    Gorgeous stitch. I’ve worked it using several different yarns, working with a smaller hook than the yarn band suggests gives a more textured effect, working a larger hook size gives a more Lacey effect but always so pretty! Using this stitch to make myself a pocket shawl in a chunky variegated yarn and loving it so far! Thank you so much for the tutorial! Xx

    Thank you for showing us the Marshmellow stitch. I am in the mist of making a blanket using different thread than what you suggested and was amazed to see the marshmellow pattern still showed through and looks gorgeous if I must say. The instructions were very easy to understand and clear. I love this innovative way of watching UA-cam and learning a new stitch or pattern. Thank you again!!

    I purchased this pattern on Etsy, I am a loom knitter but have always wanted to crochet. I have carpal tunnel which causes my dominant hand to fall asleep while I do repetitive motions so I was afraid to try. I am about 5 inches into this blanket and I love it so much! I actually think the puffy parts look like little roses. It's just beautiful! Thank you for the time and effort you put in to teaching and sharing!

    I loved that you showed you're own mistakes as you went along. There have been so many times I thought I just am not good at this, I make too many mistakes. You're right about video's hardly ever showing any mistakes as they go along, which I actually think is misleading. So, thank you. I love this project. You are a wonderful teacher. I hope you make many more videos. Susan

    @Doogals1965 The info I usually put in the vide description so be sure to expand that section when you need it in other videos: Here is the info:
    Suggested yarn Bernat Baby Blanket (Polyester)
    Yarn weight Super Bulky (5-6 wpi)
    Hook size 8.0 mm (L) {use M for foundation chain}
    Gauge 3 stitches and 6 rows = 4 inches in Textured Stitch pattern
    For medium weight yearn such as Red Heart Supersaver or Lion Brand Pound of Love, use a J-10 hook and a K for the foundation chain. Cast on 108 stitches.

    FAB tutorial!!! Have just started on a charity blanket just because I've seen this easy-to-follow and well-explained video...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! For those of you who think the wool is expensive, I just use 'Roys of Wroxham' 100g balls of Double Knit wool at £1.75 (the shop is local and I love their colours)...you can also get packs of wool, online, which can work out to as little as £1.00 for a 100g ball...x

    I am working on the Marshmallow Crochet blanket however I am using 4 strand yarn and a K hook to create mine. I am also crocheting 3 dc after the sc into each 3rd hole. I have found that since I am using the smaller yard I can get a better poof by adding the 3rd double crochet to your original pattern. I have gotten lots of "oh that is so pretty" so far and can't wait to finish the blanket. Thank you for taking the time to show us beginners that even the more in-depth patterns can be done too!

    I love this pattern - made it for my great-niece. I did it in a rich purple color with an eggshell white color. I made it to fit child size twin bed, actually approximately 60 in by 90 in; it's big large! Boy, did it kill my hand!! I did three rows of each color vs2 rose since it was larger. I also made a matching pillow. I stuffed a small white pillowcase and put inside and then I sewed ribbons on the one opening in to tie it closed for decoration. This way, the stuffing can be taken out to wash and the outer pillowcase as well. Now, my niece had a baby boy and wants me to make another one. I don't know if my hand can handle it. I also just want to say to goodnight kisses that you do great tutorials and love all your patterns!

    Just a heads up, the pattern states that any multiple of 2 +3 will work, this is incorrect. It is actually any multiple of 3 +2 which will give you the correct starting chain. Took me an hour of scratching my head and 3 attempts to finally realise this. Hope this helps someone.
    Great pattern by the way, no hate here, all love.

    I have always wanted to learn how to knit or crochet. Unfortunately, I had no one to teach me when I growing up. I always felt that if I could closely watch someone do it, I would pick up on it pretty quickly. Now, I am going to the craft store to get yarn and 2 sets of needles. Not only am I going to learn how to knit, but my 14 year old daughter really wants to learn along with me! I also have a 12 year old daughter with Down Syndrome, I will be teaching her how to finger knit! She's going to make a scarf for her teddy bear! :) I think it will be great to improve her manual dexterity and teach her a little patience. I'm so excited to have found your videos!! They are clear, concise and just slow enough for us to follow along. TOGETHER!! Love, love, love!!!!
    Only 3 questions...How many stitches across (approximately) for a blanket, how many skeins of yarn and one more thing, Which end of the yarn do you pull from??? The center or the end??

    • @GoodKnitKisses
      @GoodKnitKisses  9 років тому

      Thank you so much! I'm glad you found me for you and your daughter. For finger knitting I have two videos on that. One is for making a single length and the other is attaching them as you go to make a blanket. For this video with the crochet blanket, the answer to your questions are in the video but also in the link found in the video description. For pulling the yarn I usually pull from the center but if the yarn likes to catch on itself (usually a specialty inconsistent yarn) then I pull from the outside. That falls to preference and ease of use personally for you. :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Your blanket came out nice and I know it's going to be soo soft because of the puffy stitch and the type of material used. However, I don't know how you worked with that yarn! I tried the Bernat Big Ball Blanket yarn and it about drove me nuts. I couldn't stand the way it constantly twisted, the base chain was wavy when worked in regular fashion and waay too stretchy when doing a FDSC. The yarn.. it just... it drove me bonkers.

      luisa marques You are welcome, thanks for the compliments! I'd love to see your blankets if you've posted on Ravelry be sure to add it to your projects. I try to feature people on the pattern page :). FYI I went to Michael's Craft store the other day and they have Bernat Blanket yarn for sale that are in more mature and fun colors besides their baby blanket line. It's just like the baby blanket line but the color ways are different. That should work as well if you make a change or want an accent. I hope that helps! :-)

    This was much easier with you. Telling us to put the hook into the smaller space was the easiest for us to finally put our hook in the right spot so we could crochet this blanket -why do people make things so hard Thanks for the help. Now I can finally make this baby blanket plus that tail was a pain so thanks for that tooo

      Danielle Klezz Yes. use the same stitch pattern and at the corners make the stitch, chain 2, then make the stitch again in the same corner. Just continue around until you have made it the desired size. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

    I absolutely love this pattern. Thank you for sharing. I see where you indicated that you learned to crochet from Mikey's videos. He recently made a correction in the way he crochets because he realized he was hooking the yarn incorrectly by putting the hook over the yarn instead of under. An example is at time marker 10:55 you are going into the blanket with the hook and bringing the hook down over the yarn to grab it and pulling it through the hole. The hook should go under the yarn to grab it to pull through the blanket. Here's Mikey with his correction at time marker 2:35 How To Crochet Front Post Trebles
