Thank you Hearher Corinne. Hot off the press for me. I have been making the Teachers gifts. I have a 6 yr old granddaughter and she took pencil scarf right after Christmas Vacation was over. She has 2 Teachers. One school room and one after school program I have not crocheted any paper cozies yet but I have crocheted countless pencil and Apple cozies. I wish my hands would go a little fasste. Just wanted to say thanks for your crochet tutorials and patterns. Very easy to understand.
I made this baby blanket with Bernat Baby Blanket Dappled yarn in aquamarine. Too bad the decided to discontinue this yarn. My version I decided no back loop only regular hdc and I did a border with reversible or what they call a crab stitch. Thank you for sharing .
I started this, and it's turning out great! I just started learning crochet a few days ago. I have one question: my blanket started fading out the cute bumps..? I did the same thing when I started, and it looks like there are bumps, but now it looks a little flat... Any ideas? It's still pretty! I may keep it like it, but I was wondering if you knew why?
Theoretically, you can use any yarn you'd like. The bulky weight is what makes the blanket larger however. If you're using lighter weight yarn, it will be much, much smaller so you'd probably want to increase your stitch count.
You sure can! You could do a simple single or half double crochet border and just put [single crochet, chain 2, single crochet] or half double on each corner stitch.
I made numerous blankets in this stitch and it’s a beautiful blanket and even nicer with solid colors
I'm so happy you like the pattern! I love how cozy this blanket is.
Thank you Heather for sharing this tutorial!!

I'm so happy you are enjoying the patterns! You made my day!
Nice easy pattern. I imagine using the single crochet as a breaker for color changes if someone wanted to ❤
That's a great idea!

What a bummer they discontinued the yarn color! Your border sounds adorable. I'm glad you enjoyed the pattern. Thanks for commenting and watching! :)

The ridges/bumps are created by working in the back stitch only for Rows 2-41. If you start using both loops, they will disappear. I hope that helps!
When you start the half double crochet, after you chained 1, how many stitches from the chain do you start?
Should be the first stitch from the chain one.
This was perfect for a beginner like me, thanks! Could you put a border on this?
So glad you enjoyed it! :) Yes, you could add a border to this pattern.
Do you skip the 1st stitch and singleninto the 2nd?
So you've chained 61 and you're going to single crochet 60. So you'll single crochet into the 2nd chain from your hook.
How many rolls of yarn did you use?
I want to say I used right under 2 but it all depends on tension and style.
Could you use bernart ombre yarn for this?

What size hook did you use?
Size N (13) / 9mm Crochet Hook - amzn.to/2UeqELO
Can you put a border around it? What kind would you suggest?

Why did you say 40 do you mean 60
