    I absolutely love this blanket. I find it very easy. It's good to know someone is showing more patterns for the Bernat chunky yarn. This could also be made for an adult Afghan. Thank you.
    Love your accent ❤

    Thank you for your tutorial. I purchased the Bernat yarn along time ago, and was kinda scared to work with it, I'm not use to chuncky yarn. I didnt see anything challenging I wanted to do. I love the softness of this yarn. The blanket you crochet inspired me, thank you!

    I practiced this stitches using a #4 at. Yarn, and an I-9 hook. It made a really nice texture. This is important, because I make preemie/newborn blankets, and they need to be pretty much free of holes. This stitch is even closer than the closed shell stitch I love so much. Thsnk you.

    It’s been a while since you posted this video so I don’t know if you’ll see this comment but I want to thank you. I don’t usually enjoy working with thicker yarns like the Bernat Blanket but I saw the prettiest shade on sale at my local Michaels the other day and purchased two large balls. Then I got it home and couldn’t seem to make it work with the pattern I’d decided to use. I was having trouble keeping up with my chain stitches. I came here and found your video and this blanket pattern is now working up beautifully for me. Thank you for posting it! 😊

    I think you should look at some other blanket tutorials to help you make one because we don’t need to do every single chain with you. Usually the lady will do a few and say I’ll meet you at the end and we don’t have to watch the whole thing. Thank you.

    About how many chain would you do for a worsted weight yarn?

    • @sandygrogg1203
      @sandygrogg1203 4 роки тому +1

      Chain 6+3... Just make the chain about as wide as you want your blanket to be. The stitch is just like a nitmsl shell stitch, except it has a SC, and an HDC . It works up very nicely in worsted weight.

    So I've made the baby blanket version of this 4 times. Everyone loved it. I have just been asked to make a full size adult version. Anyone have any clue how many chains I should start with? I know for the baby one it's 64 and then to increase I just add three more chains over and over to get length but I don't know when to stop? Anyone make an adult blanket and it turn out good? How many beginning chains did you use. I'm just worried I'll end up with a weird long rectangle or something LOL

    Jacqui this is beautiful ...however I am in Australia and our terminology varies in that a sc is considered a dc and a dc is considered a treble...so I have to convert your stitches...and also can you please tell me what the weight of each skein of wool is please, so I can work out the quantity as I would like to use your pattern to make a larger blanket...thank you so much

    • @sue195423
      @sue195423 5 років тому

      Crikey, I guess you're using the UK terminology for the stitches... Personally speaking I've found it much easier to use the US versions for the stitches cos most of the clips (even UK tutorials like Wooley Wonders) seem to use the US terminology. Following the video clip as you're making the item could help to ensure there's no confusion and your project will be successful ❣😉 Good luck & Best wishes from Auckland, NZ 😘❣

    Jacqui, I bought 2 large balls of the bernat blanket yarn which are the equivalent of 6 small. I was wondering how many rows you did at first before switching colors? Since my yarn balls are larger I'll have to maybe go by rows instead of when a ball runs out. Thanks for any help!

      I did the math for those wanting a row count, as I did as well. She said she did 36 rows in total (not counting the border), so that would equal 8 rows to begin (variegated color), 20 rows for the middle (white) section, and then another 8 rows (variegated color) to end.

      The best tip I've ever learned and ALWAYS do is to use stitch markers at the beginning and end of every row. It ensures you get your last stitch correctly placed so you aren't skipping or adding stitches in each row.
