    Mikey, I love your crochet projects you do but I wish you would show better what you go into like if its in between a V stitch or between 2 crochets from the last row. I'm still kind of new but I'm not a complete beginner but I still need direction on where to go with the yarn. I hope this made sense. Idk if anyone else agrees with me but you are a very good teacher and like I said I love your projects. Thank you, your passion for crocheting makes me really want to keep going and learn different stitches.

    Mickey I am a very new to this and while Gina loves how you don't go super slow, I feel the need for less speed. I do however enjoy your charming personality and explanation. How do you keep track of one and two to the finished count>? NO doubt this is explained somewhere.. I will have to find a more rudimentary teacher until i can catch up to you. Thank you so much for your lovely videos.

    • @meghanhockenberry2960
      @meghanhockenberry2960 7 років тому +1

      Luanna, even though this comment is from a year ago I understand where you are coming from and think you should have an answer. To simplify, crochet an even number of stitches for your first row, such as 78 or 80, this is so the math works for the rest of the rows. So you can count like he does in the video, "1,2,1,2..." or you can just count until you get to an even number. For example, I am making adult size blankets with this pattern and I just end with an even number once I get the width in want. I hope this helps!

    Thank you for the pattern. With so many weaving in ends & fastening off every row for colour changes I’m not confident this blanket would hold up after several washings. I’m afraid it will fall apart after all that hard work! I am not a fan of knots in yarn. I find after trimming baby blanket yarn it tends to stick out. Any other options or suggestions please.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  3 роки тому +1

      Just do solid colour or self striping yarn and therefore you won't have to deal with the ends. When I weave in and out with a tapestry needle, I don't have issues with the tails falling out. However, that's my own experience and for you, it's been a different story.

    • @ednadochuk6509
      @ednadochuk6509 3 роки тому

      @@TheCrochetCrowd Thanks so much for your suggestions. I have been weaving in double stragglers for about an 1- 1 1/2 in & then cutting the yarn resulting in ends sticking out. I am going to weave in single straggler & try weaving in other straggle in opposite direction with a tapestry needle.
      and then cutting off ends. I will try weaving in one stragglers with crochet hook and tapestry needle opposite direction it with tapestry needle next time

    I started this yesterday. You said it would take two skeins each color. Since you did not mention the hook size, I went with the yarn's recommended size hook. With that in mind, what is the expected blanket size? I'm worried that I may not have enough yarn. Encourage me, please. This is for a boy, and I'm using faded denim and white.

    • @iiskraachip
      @iiskraachip 8 років тому

      +Betty Capps He's using a N - 10mm hook, I think the recommended hook size is smaller than an N, so that would mean more yarn. "Using 10 mm or Size N crochet hook, you will get a 42″ wide by 36″ long baby blanket." The link in the box has more info about the blanket.

    I started making this project for the second time using a size 5 hook with regular yarn and the blanket has a huge curve on that starting border. Did anyone else have this problem. When I made this the second time I loosened my tension on the foundation chain and that helped but once I put the second row in the curve is back.

      I found going up to a 11.5 mm hook helpful. For me it seemed to be easier to make the stiches and for blankets I am not to worried about the effect this may have on the size. Now I really enjoy using it and I think the hook size and getting used to a bulkier yarn were the 2 things that made a big difference but it did take me some time. :)

      The size of the blanket can vary depending on what brand/weight of yarn you are using. For example, if I want to make a cuddle, lovey, or stroller blanket, then I might need two skeins of Bernat Baby Blanket yarn whose weight is super bulky.

I'm kind of new to this and it's driving me crazy. It is hard enough for me to figure out how loose or tight the tension should be for these stitches :)
    Also does anyone else have a ridge that is kind of like a bump going across where the color changes? Thank you.

    • @beesandyarn

      Hey there, at the beginning you skip three chains and work into the fourth. The three that you skipped count as the double crochet on the side. So at the end of row two, just work a double crochet into the top of those three chains - the third one from the bottom. Hope this helps!
