Probably a director who didn't know the band's music, didn't know who the lead singer on the song was, and probably didn't notice Rick miming the vocal (I assume he would have been, but who knows?), and couldn't suss out that he was focusing on the wrong band members for the entire song. Iv'e heard of TV directors doing things like cutting to the bassist during a guitar solo (because they can't tell the difference between a bass and a guitar), or showing the wrong guitarist during a solo (there's an episode of The Young Ones, where Motorhead mime Ace Of Spades, and during the guitar solo trades between Phil Campbell and Wurzel, never once do we see the guitarist who is actually soloing at any given time), but this one takes the cake.
Genuine performing artists do that LOLOLOL, I've seen a couple of videos in which the bands are also making fun of the fact they're not live I think One is The Beatles, The other must be The Hollies or The Small Faces 🤔 or both
Best musicians to ever exist and they are asked to stand there and pretend to strum while the music plays??? Ha. I know that’s just what they did back then...but you can tell they feel ridiculous doing it.
When asked at some press conference which one he prefers, Gilmour without hesitation said "oh the Beatles"....makes sense considering they influenced Floyd along with every other group after them. Roger Waters not too many years ago stated that "Sgt Pepper" and "Music from Big Pink" by the Band were the two albums which had the biggest influence on him. "Pepper" makes sense cause it's psychedelic, but "Big PInk" was the flip side, the antithesis to psychedelia
youtube won't allow me to paste links but I can paste a sample out of the text here... Was just reading how "Tomorrow Never Knows" was created and this came up, involving Pink Floyd indirectly: " One noteworthy new element in the mix on this day was the use of 20-year-old Geoff Emerick as primary engineer. Norman Smith had been The Beatles engineer for the vast majority of their sessions up to this point but, because of his promotion to producer (new band Pink Floyd being one of his first artists), advantage was taken to get some "young blood" in the studio to help satisfy The Beatles’ cravings for innovations in the recording process. Having worked with them on various occasions in the past as 2nd engineer, the group was somewhat familiar with him personally. His new role as primary engineer would test his creativity and ultimately win them over as one who could fulfill their quest for expanding their sonic landscape. "

although Sticky Fingers has been my favourite album since I first heard it in 1977, for some inexplicable reason, it was another 10 years before driving through a warm, moonlit night across the hills after a long, hot, hard day that coincidentally this stunningly beautiful track came on about 10 miles from home, and it hit me at long last; although they have recorded equally majestic closers to their albums, none quite match this one in its divine glory. Maybe it’s the addition of the strings, whatever it is, it’s a song that can cause my spirit to soar..

''A ha hahahaha.'' Rick. ''Really, who?...'' Roger. ''There was no mic to pretend to sing into. I can't pretend to sing words I didn't write into a microphone that I pretend is present.'' Nick.
