You have to really make it clear that this video applies to 13” iPad Pros only. I got the 13” M2 iPad Pro and just got the 11” M4 iPad Pro and the screen difference is really hard to see and the extra power of M4 chip is not noticeable at all. However when compared to my 2018 11”iPad pro the difference in screen quality is huge and if you are looking at upgrading from a smaller model and want to get the 11” the difference in screen alone is enough for me to recommend the upgrade.
I own the M1 12.9 Pro. It’s heavy and uncomfortable one-handed, so I use it at a desk on tablet stand. You do get used to it, but the newer M4 is much lighter and easier to carry if you can afford it.
I really want to know what percent of people actually do pro Stuff on Ipad. I think that 95% of people use it for note taking, art, youtube, watching movies and Gaming. Ipads are mostly catered towards students and the air and 10th gen are the one to get for most students due to budget limitations. The pro is just for rich people who have money to burn. The Ipad is mostly a nice to have addition to a macbook for most people.
Well, I am not a rich guy, I'm a DJ. I love to use the M1 Pro, and now most recently bought the M2. I use these as back ups when DJing weddings, corporate events and festivals, should my main computer crash. These M chips can connect and run my DJ controller with no lag. Having the most processing power and ram is important to ensure there are no issues, lag or dead air when playing music. DJ programs are intensive and use a ton of resources. They need to not only run the DJ program, but the controller, the internal music library, plus access Tidal and Apple music, all at the same time.
I’d also be curious who does professional work on their Macs, too. It’s probably more than iPads, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a large number don’t do a whole lot of pro stuff either. But the main reason to get an iPad Pro is for that screen. If you’re one of those who will drop $2000-3000 on an OLED TV set, then this model is for you even if you don’t do pro work on it.
I pulled the trigger for M1 iPad Pro 12.9" after the M4 releases. I know I wont be fully utilising the power, I'm not Apple Pencil person, mainly use for navigation (cellular) mounted on my car dashboard, as a sidecar for my MacBook Pro and media consumption during the night. Save up almost half of the cost in 2024. The only thing I'm missing is the side mounted camera.
Ok imma be honest. I use my iPad Pro everyday for art and other heavy apps that involve 3d stuff. I’m a noob at nomad but I do wanna practice it more often and I need more power. I also have too many projects that my current iPad Pro can handle but really the new Apple Pencil pro really is gonna speed up my work flow. I don’t own one yet but I plan too…. Next year. Finally a new iPad review that makes sense against my m1 12.9” iPad Pro. It’s big but still great. I’ve only thought about upgrading to get back to an 11”” model. Love that new wallet for sale but mine is already too thick.
The selling point of M4 ipad Pro is its tandem oled screen, not the processor, since the performance will remain practically similar for general users irrespective of iPad Pro generations.

Was in the market for an Ipad recently and wanted to get the best of the best, but then decided to sleep on it and realised I primarily needed to make notes and read books. I couldn't care less about sketching or video/photo editing, gaming or gaming or the 120HZ gimmick and the "pro" pencil features etc and if I ever wanted to do any of those tasks, I could easily get them done on my MacBook Pro (M2 pro) . I think I'll go for the M4

My 11” iPad Pro m2 is far more comfortable that my tab S9 Ultra to use when lounging around my home, I bought it specifically for that reason. My Tab S9 Ultra stays at my desk in my home office.
Problem is still that many emulators are only available only on Android, I had a ipad m1 pro, and was so useless only for Android games only , but was great for drawing and typing with the magic keyboard
What this video did not mention (in 20 - 20 hindsight) is how much RAM does each model have. They all have 8 GB unless you buy the 1 TB and above versions. The new macs just recently released all sport more RAM than they did before. The reason is due to the fact that more RAM is needed for the upcoming AI capabilities. So in that sense these ipad pros are all equal to each other and the ipad that you really want to get is the next one that has MORE than 8 GB of RAM. On the ipad pros my guess is they will go up to 12 GB RAM with the next generation (probably M5). That generation will be the one to get. So if you have any M chip powered ipad pro now, stand pat until then. If you have less than 8 GB RAM now, trade up to an M chip model (M1 or M2) that has 8 GB (or more if you want to get a 1 or 2 TB model that has 16 GB).
Thanks for the well-grounded common sense. I'd reached the same conclusion. As for the M4 iPad's new mic placement, I can use an M1 or M2 Pro 12.9 and simply plug in my Shure MV88+ mic and position it in the middle to get more or less the same effect. I record lots of short music clips and would love the enhanced mics in the M4, but the M2 has more mics (5 in all), and they are apparently of equal quality; in any case, plenty good enough for informal recording. So, yes, I'll very likely go with a used M1/M2 and save a bundle. For musicians and singers, the 12.9/13 iPads are a delight, thanks to forScore and MusicSheets.
That Pro is beautiful but for me an iPad has always been a companion device for my MacBook. Now, if an iPad was my only portable that might be a whole different story.
I really couldn’t justify spending the $1,000 on the iPad Pro. Maybe another time but trying to figure out which to buy was a nightmare. I went with the iPad Air M2 😅
Sadly... for me, the main reason for the M2 iPad Pro is the older magic keyboard... I can't get why Apple made the geometry so much worse that for me it makes no sense... it makes it like a laptop instead of an even more mobile iPad... so the older for me... by far
Please do a video regarding the comparison of apple macbook pro m1 pro 14inch (8 core cpu and 14 core GPU) vs hp omnibook x/Microsoft surface laptop 7 (X1E-78-100) and which to buy, Thank you
If you are player Arena Breakout or Warzone Mobile or Wuthering Wave, you should buying ipad Pro M4, because this game very heavy than Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile and another heavy games that not very heavy. But if you want ipad but not enough money to buying ipad pro m4, just buying ipad pro m1, but remember this three games(very heavy games) can stable but not most stable than ipad pro m4.
Apple floated off the real world when it designed the iPads. I got my first computer in 1983, a Morrow Micro Decision I that ran CP/M. Since then, my primary needs hasn't changed: I use computers to churn words, a task for which WordStar was better in some ways than MS Word in 2024. I don't juggle numbers, so my only other need is for photo/video editing - even as it was when the first Mac appeared in the late 1980s. Now, with its grandiferous M4 chip, the iPad can't give us sophisticated word-spinning apps - with MS Word I can at least customize the keyboard for lightning-fast editing, and I can manage files fluidly, without obstacles. With its siloed per-app file systems, the iPad is a complete workflow stopper for most people. And, let's face it, perhaps only 10 percent of computer users are visually oriented in the classic sense (you'll know if you've met a real artist). So, yes, give me an M1 or M2 Pro 12.9 to read sheet music and edit the occasional photo, but for everything else the PC is, very sadly, better.
The latest iPad top end release by Apple will only be worth the price for most people if Apple seriously upgrades iPadOS. Without that most of the standard models do the same stuff for much more affordable price. If Apple produces a MacOS/iPadOS new iPad THEN the high value would be worth paying for 2-in-1. Tablet price is best around 300$ or so at most for most people.
Would the OnePlus pad 2 be a good comp to Ipad Pro m2 11 inch or the Ipad Air m1? I have the ipad pro m2 11 256gb...find the gb overkill but live the speed & low battery drain. Air m1 just came but think speed downgrade is gonna be noticable
Why would you upgrade when you have m2 ? I have m1 and i am not upgrading any time soon Also 1+ and ipad are not comparable as both run different os I would choose 1+ as i like software freedom and value for money, if you don’t care about software freedom ipad is great
The oled is nice for sure but I'm not gonna purchase that one. Went for a 12.9 gen 6 instead. But there are two things I would have love to have. The centered camera that's something I've wanted for a long time with faceid also and being able to use the new magic kaybosrd. But apple is apple they know people are gonna purchase this pad just to be able to get the new magic key board.
Hey. I am thinking about new M4 Pro with Pencil pro. I would be very thankful for suggestions about SSD size - should I buy 512 or 256 will be enough for procreate and concept-art? I want to use it for a long time without change for new one. Thanks for suggestions!
It should still work ok - providing you have enough storage and are happy with the battery life. However, you probably wont get anymore iOS updates after this year. Though Apple may provide security updates for another year or 2. After that no online shopping or banking!
Nah get the 2018 iPad pro. I got mine 12.9 inch from backmarket for only $350. I would only get M1 chip for the mac. The iPad has too many software limitations to justify an M1 chip for almost double the price
Pleaaaasseeeee make a comparision btw the ipad air m2 and ipad pro m1 that have the same price to buy (thinking in refurbished by apple only) ir now in the end of 2024… ❤
I have the magic keyboard and like 10 cases for the 12.9 M2 pro..I really want that oled and camera angel badly!! but then i will have to start all over again with buying everything new.
I have the base S9. It has a great display and, a fast enough processor for just about anything that you could do on the thing. Good, clear, and loud speakers. Thin and light. Pen included in the box. The best or one of the best Android tablets for sale today.
What about the A12X/Z models? Are those good aswell? Im choosing between the A12Z and M1 for mostly gaming and watching video's? Is the Mini LED screen worth it over the LCD? Thanks for your help!
If you have any interest in using Apple Intelligence, you’ll need at least an M1, so I’d scour places to find refurbished or possibly new ones on sale. And with the M1 Pro versions, you also get a nice mini-LED screen. To me, that mini-LED is so much better than LCD.
A12Z ia already skipped when it comes to major features of the os updates like apple intelligence or external monitor suport. It is basically a 2018 processor with an extra gpu core and more ram. M1 is definietely better in a long term
@@TechGearTalk 🤣 ahhh, sense of humor such a great thing! hey, btw, m3 air 8/256 $849 new vs m1 pro 14 16/512 $949 refurb… m1 pro yeah? keep up the good work man!
If I'm paying allot. I'd rather pay allot more and do it right the first time. If you only want to read, waych youtube, and play linear games then just get a much older ipad for like 300 bucks lol.
Bro actually iam a medical student what tab should i take S9 fe plus or S8 plus or S6 tab ?? or do you recommend any other my requirements: pencil with no charging thing and tav should be atleast big 11/12cm.
@@sumanthreddy4098 i have recently bought the s9 fe+ and it is doing all the tasks very smoothly, it is very good for note taking, watching lecture videos and also if u wanna play some moderate games, i find the no-charge pen a great advantage but if u are getting the tab under 30k INR then only it is vfm otherwise u may look into other tabs
If one already starts to ask whether one actually needs the best of the best of the best, wouldn’t it make sense to not restrict yourself to the pro models?
Great question - for me it depends on which features are important to the user. For example - maybe you really want 120hz - but you don’t really care about OLED or processing power.
I recently decided to buy new ipad pro 13 inch to read and write on pdfs on goodnote with apple pencil. I don't know which ipad or samsung s9 or surface pro to choose to better writing and pen softness and fast scroll with no lag. I was going to buy ipad pro with 16 ram in order to have no lag issue on writing on heavy pdfs on several tabs opening that goodnote support. I dont know now what can i do. Is ipad and goodnote can handle my heavy pdfs in multiple tabs that goodnote support ? 8 or 16 ram will be need for no lag?
His argument does not stand up for games at all. M4 has ray tracing and in about 6 months time this is going to be a deal breaker for future games. Ipad M4 is going to get obliterated by Snap Dragon when all tweaks have been sorted out. Remember this is for gaming only and the reason you bought Apple in the first instance is probably not games.
This is a real question for curiosity and not argument: What games in the iPad/mobile space use ray tracing? I don't think I've seen any mobile games that would really use this. I'm not usually a mobile gamer but if it is now the point where we can play full console/PC games on a portable that would be awesome. Steam deck is too much of a one trick pony to carry around as a separate device for me.
Also to add to the other questioner, why do you think "ray tracing ... is going to be a deal breaker for future games"? Honestly games work fundamentally on game-play quality most of all. And even on game-play mobile games on iPad in App store is not very high quality either. Is not the best experience of gaming on iPad simply using Streaming solutions from more powerful/competent computers if you want to "game on the go"?
I went with the 13 Pro 2TB. I use it daily for Email, UA-cam and some light porn on the weekends. Hope it doesn’t lag or overheat. Do you guys think it will fit decent on the tables at Central Perk?

So in that sense these ipad pros are all equal to each other and the ipad that you really want to get is the next one that has MORE than 8 GB of RAM. On the ipad pros my guess is they will go up to 12 GB RAM with the next generation (probably M5). That generation will be the one to get. So if you have any M chip powered ipad pro now, stand pat until then. If you have less than 8 GB RAM now, trade up to an M chip model (M1 or M2) that has 8 GB (or more if you want to get a 1 or 2 TB model that has 16 GB).
What are the Japanese wallpapers you’re using on the iPads?
I made them - should I create a pack?
@@TechGearTalk I would really appreciate it! They’re super nice
I appreciate you sharing this with the community. Thank you for being part of the channel!
With the more powerful chips, is amount of RAM still important in editing photos on photo editing apps available to iPad?
No, it s not. The base ram is already enough, not like on the MacBook where 8gb is not
That Pro is beautiful but for me an iPad has always been a companion device for my MacBook. Now, if an iPad was my only portable that might be a whole different story.
I think that's very fair - thanks Bryan!
which one is best for taking notes and playing music and saving a crap load of alls and screens shots
M3 processing power looks good in that comparison in minute 1. No one else is talking about it
Whoops - M4
@@TechGearTalk lol! 😉 nice video. Love the M2 pro vs this year’s releases. Sticking with it
M3 iPad Pro? 0:23 ?
Is watching films on 11 inch m4 weird? Only used to Samsung tabs and heard that the aspect ratio on the iPad is bad for movies
No, the 11” Ipad Pro has a more conventional aspect ratio. It’s the 13” that has the 4:3 ratio which makes the viewing experience weird.
Ipad air m2 vs ipad pro m2 which one to buy?
Wallpaper link pls 😢
If u had to choose an ipad to pair with cell (OnePlus 12) or laptop (MacBook), which do u choose? Thats my dilemma. Ipad pro/air or OnePlus pad 2.
how about the speakers performance compared to the other apples?
It’s better - for me it’s not better enough to upgrade to - but I rarely use the speakers
AFAIK all the Pro models have quad speaker that produce decent sound. The other models have 2 speakers and sound quite tinny.
I really couldn’t justify spending the $1,000 on the iPad Pro. Maybe another time but trying to figure out which to buy was a nightmare. I went with the iPad Air M2 😅
Cheers for that Sir. U helped me out.
Glad to help. Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
Sadly... for me, the main reason for the M2 iPad Pro is the older magic keyboard... I can't get why Apple made the geometry so much worse that for me it makes no sense... it makes it like a laptop instead of an even more mobile iPad... so the older for me... by far
PWM is worst on the m4 i resently sold mine im sesnitive to is so sad
Mate where did you get those wallpapers??
Someone just needs to make a cheap streaming and kindle android oled tab that can fit in 1 hand. Tab s10 fe mini. Cmon Samsung!
Please do a video regarding the comparison of apple macbook pro m1 pro 14inch (8 core cpu and 14 core GPU) vs hp omnibook x/Microsoft surface laptop 7 (X1E-78-100) and which to buy,
Thank you
If you are player Arena Breakout or Warzone Mobile or Wuthering Wave, you should buying ipad Pro M4, because this game very heavy than Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile and another heavy games that not very heavy.
Combining elegance and luxury kislux
Does the OLED panel still have the flickering from PWM…??
Yes. I’m feeling headache kind of sense because of that
Just to browse online shopping and stream a tone of Netflix , this ain’t enough power
If you have an 11 inch m2 iPad Pro, why would u upgrade?
Why would you upgrade when you have m2 ? I have m1 and i am not upgrading any time soon
Also 1+ and ipad are not comparable as both run different os
I would choose 1+ as i like software freedom and value for money, if you don’t care about software freedom ipad is great
Me,using since 2 years the ipad9 with no issues till now
Great video. Can we have a battery comparison please? Also what’s those little thumb gloves you have? I hate finger prints on my screen
Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!!!
What game was that you were playing ?
Timestamp?
Brought a refreshed IPAD Air M1 with 256 storage more than powerful enough to view this YT video lol. Have iMAC M3 for heavy duty stuff.
Hey. I am thinking about new M4 Pro with Pencil pro. I would be very thankful for suggestions about SSD size - should I buy 512 or 256 will be enough for procreate and concept-art?
I want to use it for a long time without change for new one. Thanks for suggestions!
Do you think ipad pro 2018 Gen will last till 2028? 🤔
No the ipad will be super outdated by the time is 2028 try using a 2014 ipad
It should still work ok - providing you have enough storage and are happy with the battery life. However, you probably wont get anymore iOS updates after this year. Though Apple may provide security updates for another year or 2. After that no online shopping or banking!
@dazauto107 oops!
@dazauto107 I almost bought that one though, but I got the 10th Gen and it's working fine for me~
@@cocoa8535 that's good but it has no apple intelligence btw
Nah get the 2018 iPad pro. I got mine 12.9 inch from backmarket for only $350. I would only get M1 chip for the mac. The iPad has too many software limitations to justify an M1 chip for almost double the price
Pleaaaasseeeee make a comparision btw the ipad air m2 and ipad pro m1 that have the same price to buy (thinking in refurbished by apple only) ir now in the end of 2024… ❤
0:25 a typo my friend! it's the new m4 ipad pro. there was no m3 ipad pro!
Yup - good catch. Thanks for watching and for being part of the community 🙏🏻
The M2 iPad is a nice buy. You won't regret it.
Such a good device!
What about the iPad Pro from 2018
Still a good option
ua-cam.com/video/6RNhFSUZYdk/v-deo.html
I have the magic keyboard and like 10 cases for the 12.9 M2 pro..I really want that oled and camera angel badly!! but then i will have to start all over again with buying everything new.
Ipad air 13 can be great alternative!
Bro I want to know if the tab s9 is a good option in 2024
Of course it is.
I have the base S9. It has a great display and, a fast enough processor for just about anything that you could do on the thing. Good, clear, and loud speakers. Thin and light. Pen included in the box. The best or one of the best Android tablets for sale today.
Gamers are going to need 256GB of storage for their tablets soon. The only department which every manufacturers is not ready to give address … 😮
why am i looking at a leather wallet ad?
where can i get the wallpaper in the thumbnail
WTF 🤔
Don’t buy any IPads atm wait for the university deal to end 21st October and new m4 versions are coming out
this entire video changes when you only want the 11 inch ipad pro
The cool part about having a wallet with faux leather is that you'll need to buy a new wallet in 2 years!! So eco friendly....
What about the A12X/Z models? Are those good aswell? Im choosing between the A12Z and M1 for mostly gaming and watching video's? Is the Mini LED screen worth it over the LCD? Thanks for your help!
Take the M1. Better screen and more updates
For gaming M1 for sure. And mini LED is nice, not exactly OLED but close.
If you have any interest in using Apple Intelligence, you’ll need at least an M1, so I’d scour places to find refurbished or possibly new ones on sale. And with the M1 Pro versions, you also get a nice mini-LED screen. To me, that mini-LED is so much better than LCD.
@@techinrl9869 Alright thank you. Do you know if the blooming is as bad as some people make it out to be? Im coming from a tab s8
A12Z ia already skipped when it comes to major features of the os updates like apple intelligence or external monitor suport. It is basically a 2018 processor with an extra gpu core and more ram. M1 is definietely better in a long term
@0:22… dang, apple really shadow released that m3 ipad pro… sneaky little suckers…
😁😬
Look into OnePlus pad 2 since it's cheaper now coming with bundle deal.
@@latinreuben not interested in oneplus or anything samsung only bro 😅
The S9 FE is nice and affordable, but S8 plus is better, chip and screen wise so if you can afford it, go with that.
This is a real question for curiosity and not argument:
What games in the iPad/mobile space use ray tracing?
I want this because of study purpose so can you give me
I went with the 13 Pro 2TB. I use it daily for Email, UA-cam and some light porn on the weekends. Hope it doesn’t lag or overheat. Do you guys think it will fit decent on the tables at Central Perk?
Think it will fit quite well on those tables
While your at it
I’m sure your enjoying the lighter handheldness of the m4
One hand to hold it and the other to promotionstrokewithhapticfeedback
I want 120hz on it
All 3 have it
You forgot talking about the software update support
Thanks for watching! I mentioned that with each new released you get an additional year of support - I should have made it clear that I’m talking about OS update support. Thanks so much for the feedback 🙏🏻
@@TechGearTalk The thing is the Internet was so hyped about the M4 iPad pro when it was released, lately I have been watching videos for both the Pro and the Air.
