Apple released a pencil that doesn't charge, another one that can't pair, and now the one that won't even work with an old iPad? Sounds like they're drawing up some confusing plans over at Apple
It's just plain abuse of status and forced segmentation by apple. The folks over there know the people really using their ipads depend on specific apps and the ecosystem, who are too deep into the ecosystem. Apple could just as well put all of the features into one basic pencil, but, no, that would affect the segmentation between the pro tablets and the non pro ones. Ffs, it's 2024, almost every android tablet in the same tier comes with a high refresh screen, but not the ipad non pro models. But hey, people need their ipad apps to work and create.
No, the old one doesnt work due to the new camera pencil, so thay had to redesign the pairing and charging mechanism. This is because magnets would interfere with the camera system.
@@kingMohuraKraftehOfBeeland ...and there was no other way to enable support at all; even through external accessories? I doubt it, unfortunately. I'm not giving a trillion dollar company with multiple expert-level engineers the benefit of a doubt over an easily sermonutable problem. Actually it’s not that messy. The only confusing part is the naming. The Apple Pencil Pro should just be called Apple Pencil 3 (because it’s the successor to the second gen similar how the second gen was to the first gen) and the USB-C one should be called Apple Pencil 2 Light or Apple Pencil 2 SE, since it’s just on cheaper version of the second one. With that naming scheme it would be obvious which one is compatible with witch iPad and how the features compare.
@@lukchemI would argue, it is a mess. All they had to do was make all the new iPads support the apple pencil second generation. Makes no sense why they didn’t make the Apple Pencil USB-c support the wireless charging and pressure sensitivity.

I bought an Apple Pencil pro today because ive wanted an Apple Pencil for 2 years since I’m a beginner artist wanting to improve. When I bought it, it wouldn’t work with my iPad Air generation 4. I’m not able to return it as well because I’ve also ordered it to write my name on it so returning it is impossible. Now I have to get a new iPad Pro or I will never be able to use my Apple Pencil. ☹️
sorry to hear that ☹️
I mean the 1st one is fine to me
I just got ipad pro m2, genuinely tweaking for the apple pencil pro
Apple pencil pro would be so good if it worked with other ipads bc i cant change devices and have an ipad 10 or somthing
I can't believe Apple managed to over-complicate designing a PENCIL. 🤦♀️
Also is the Pencil Pro pressure sensitive?
Great Summary thanks - sub
The Apple pen 1st is only for iPad 10 gen and 9 gen or older iPad ! Not for all
God The New iPad Pro & Pencil Pro, gonna start my journey in learning art and drawing.
thank you so much I accidentally bought an apple pencil pro (I have an ipad mini 6)
They should color custom their pencil accoroding to the ipad.
If you are buying an Apple product and the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
I’m getting the 11 inch iPad Air for school and my birthday!
If the Apple Pencil gen 1 have a usb c adapter, why doesn’t apple market it all across iPad. Many say it won’t work with pro or air
I just got an iPad Air pro ad and thought it was part of the video 😅
First Pencil doesn’t work wit iPad mini 6. Only Apple Pencil 2 or Pencil type c
I’m not ready to give up my Apple Pencil 2. Apple’s out here playing with people’s emotions and paychecks frfr.
Apple Pencil 2nd Generation does not work on the iPad Pro M4s, only the Apple Pencil Pro. It's so frustrating because I want to upgrade my iPad to the new one, but my Pencil works fine!!! God damn it dude.
Why is only the first one round? All the newer ones seem to be more shaped or somthing
Guessing that the 1 and 2 are going soon.
Im just gonna keep using my Apple pen ripoff from amazon LMFAOOO
Love ur pfp fr

I only really wanted pressure sensitivity
I don’t draw but I use the pencil for writing. I feel like wasting so much money for that pencil is stupid if you do not draw. I bought a fake one from amazon for $10. Works perfectly. If you draw then buy an original one.
The thing with the first apple pencil was misinformation. It is only compatible with the iPad 9 and 10th generation. (in current lineup, just 10)
And more reason not buying new Ipad but buying previous geneneration and 2nd gen apple pencil from second hand or refurbished
2:06 that wallpaper tho lol
The first gen pencil is NOT compatible with any iPad Apple currently sells apart from the 10th gen iPad.
What does it mean by not compatible does it means that only it will not be able to charge or we will not be even be able to use it on the iPad
if it can’t pair the pencil to the ipad, then you won’t be able to use it. usually if it can’t charge, it also can’t pair… so you can’t use it!
I bought a 3rd party jmmq pencil off temu for less than 6$ it worked flawless on the new ipads and old ones. It even sticks magnetically to th side doesnt charge but it still works. It would be interesting to see if a person cant charge the pencil on wireless charger but still use it on the older generations.
Me with a non official pencil that only works for Apple :🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️
My Apple Pencil second generation hasn’t been working for months it shows up when I put it on the charging at the top but it doesn’t want to pair up so I give up I’m getting a non Apple iPad Pencil
thanks alot !
still using first gen, it’s amazing. don’t need no pro apple pencil
The apple pencil 2 was flawless. Then the new pads came out where it didn't charge it or pair it like bro you had a phenomenal product then fumbled it
Watching on m2 air , the magnet is above the front camera
Me with a tab S6 lite having basically the same features for a quarter of the price (except for the pro pencil)
0:28 no it doesn’t. Only to charge it, not to pair it. Source; I use one
ipad 10th gen does is compatible with apple pencil usb-c.
I pre ordered ipad air m2 11 inch and apple pencil pro and it came on the 18th of may
