the music is way too high while you speak, just so you know for future videos, other than that, great video!! Me and my best friend played this game a lot when we were 13 or so, I really liked it and hope for a re-release in a Konami collection... Come on Konami!!
I absolutely love Curse of Darkness, both the combat system and familiars are rather deep and present multiple ways of playing the game depending on which weapons and familiars you use. I never really thought of it as a Metroidvania as it is much more linear than Symphony of the Night or something like Metroid Prime, but I can see the argument, as there are some "ability gates" that are accessible once you have the right familiar. My only complaint is that some of the environments are a little plain, consisting of just repeated rooms to fight through, but because the combat is so fun I rarely noticed.
This game looks deeper than Lament of Innocence - I am definitely going to have to give it a try(I own a copy on Xbox, but have never actually played it yet).
Blasphemous, and Vambrace instantly came to mind, especially Blasphemous. im already clicking off, I'm not even a huge fan of Blasphemous but not mentioning it and saying its a dying genre and no one's successful at making it anymore is not only false but shows ignorance and that you dont actually play games of the genre, so there's no reason to listen to anything you have to say, its like someone talking about soulsborne games and saying no game has been the same or even as successful since dark souls 3, which would include elden ring and sekiro, clearly they dont know what they're talking about, someone saying platformers havent been the same since mario, thats just a stupid take, yikes
I need more 3D metroidvanias in my life, might give this a try. THANK YOU. But also Rocksteady's Batman games are totally metroidvanias ;)
Mad Max is a 3D open world Metroidvania
@@robertmaguire1067 you know what I think you're right! I hadn't thought of that despite playing the shit out of it 🤔
@@ariasdad it's one of the greatest underated gems ever. Very much up there with Days Gone

very interesting video it was cool to see such a unique castlevania, one nitpick the music gets a little too loud to hear you over at times
Thanks for the feedback! I need to mess around with my mic some more to get better quality so I'll keep that in mind for future videos!
bro you are way to quiet!
