Small correction: Defeating the Whip's Memory is not a proof of the worthy, it's just a test necessary to open the whip's true power. The reason it was sealed was actually to prevent a non-Belmont from overusing it and dying. The only way to achieve the whip's true power is through a ritual between the wielder and the Lecarde family, also trusted by the Belmonts. John had the whip unlocked and overused it, while Jonathan didn't, so the whip didn't have time to kill him.
So true all because of the blood covenant that Leon entered into with the soul of Sara since she was bit by the vampire Walter and that she willingly went on with it. Mainly because she didn't want others to suffer her fate and wanted Leon to fulfill her final wish giving him the power he needed to defeat Walter. @uandresbrito5685 Well, only those of Leon's direct bloodline can wield it without losing their life. Also, what Leon did to complete the whip as Rinaldo put it was one of the forbidden secrets from the book belonging to Mathia's family since Rinaldo knew Mathias longer than Leon. Mad respect for including the radio drama! Everyone forgets about it. A video about Shanoa or Maria would be awesome to see. As always, I love your content
Evy Evolution it was officially released by Konami as a sequel to SotN so I’d say it’s definitely canon. I think lots of people choose to ignore it which is a shame bc on a deeper inspection the writers were focusing on Alucard living among mortals, trying to find a semblance of life being immortal + his vampiric urges, etc. Castlevania meets Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles basically.
Anyone who starts over using their reflector I just start using whip attacks. Ends up working in my favor since they usually get lost on what to do since if they try to reflect I can easily throw them off guard with a F-Smash and getting a kill off of it. I’m more aggressive with the whip anyway than with my projectiles so that’s also a plus.
Also this is a great video that pulls up some tiny things I didn't notice. I never looked at Richter and Dracula like that until you put both portraits next to each other. You also reminded me it's October so thanks bud.
@@kingdreezy1427 more mad at how different it is from what it is supposed to be based on. Almost no character acts like their counterparts, for some reason they make it about the French and Haitian Revolution when that wasn’t even part of the game, and they’re treating Richter like a side character when he is supposed to be the protagonist. As for Annette, while I find her to be an annoying ,insensitive, narcissistic character, I honestly wonder why they didn’t just make her a different original character since she has nothing in common with the game version.

I really like how the narrator gives you information that would bring more questions but he answers them as he goes along. I was truly entertained to the point of dusting of the old Nes and did a 20 hour marathon of Simon's quest. I forgotten what castlevania is, the atmosphere and styles, the ideas of fear being embracing and misunderstood to those who fear the abyss
Yeah. Richter's my head canon for what represents Castlevania. I have to say though, I've gotten every version of SotN except the Saturn one. And I've always been sad that there's no playable SotN Sprite Richter, he's only playable in his RoB Sprite, they even use it in his battle with Alucard, but the one you see in the Colosseum never returns. Is it an extra costume for him in Smash? That'd be super cool.
While i firmly believe Simon is the epitome of what a Belmont is, Brave, Stalward, Unendingly determined. Richter could also compete for that title as well. Just in his own, unique way. A brilliant character, Truly.
I don't care what anyone says. Richter Belmont is the best and most iconic Belmont ever created. The old are cool and the new are easily forgotten but they blue suit and white ryu headband will forever be immortalized
Richter isn’t studying the map for the layout. He’s studying it because of the common areas that reappear in each Castlevania game. There is the courtyard, the clock tower, some have caves underneath as well as dungeons then there’s also the throne room where Dracula is.
Please do a video about Christopher Belmont. He was the first to defeat Dracula *twice* within the canon and become aware of the Count's 100 year pattern of resurrection.
love all the variety in this series, it's really cool, i dont even play castlevania nor smash, but im still down b/c it's your content. keep up the good work!
It's more historically accurate. Can you imagine having Hokuto no Ken next to Mozart in the same universe? At the same time, there clearly are many historically inaccurate things in Castlevania all the time, so our argument is futile.
I've always preferred the more gothic look the series took compared to the Conan the Barbarian type design it had in its earlier days. My love for it even same from Soma Cruz from Aria of Sorrow, the main character everyone loves to hate haha
Personally, I prefer the “generic shounen” design compared to the Bishounen goth or the aristocrat look but the design chance does make sense. One is a good natured young man prepared to fight for the sake of the world while the other is a man who lost himself to his hidden desires.
btw you got one thing wrong, the whip does not drain the life force of the unworthy, quite the opposite, it is in a weak and seal state until released by confronting the whip's memory, which is him, it is harmless but also an useless weapon in its sealed state, but once released it returns to its full power, although that comes at the cost of the user's lifespan because of that power.
Richter Belmont is one of my favorite belmonts. While he was probably one of the strongest belmonts his own hubris would bring the end to the belmonts for years. His design is one of the best of the series. Juste is also one of my favorites and probably is the strongest in terms of magic. Richter having the ability to use the item crash and how his sub weapons being the strongest in the series. With all this power brings hubris and his want to kill Dracula would bring the end of the belmonts for years. Then dracula took advantage of that and mind controlled him. Then his family would be cursed for years and after that he wouldn't be able to ever use the vampire killer ever again.
Simon will always be my personal favorite Belmont (though Grant is my favorite Castlevania character) but no one can deny the massive Chad energy the Richter brings to the table
Christopher is the most badass- he had true bravery- defeated dracula twice & saved his son by whoopin' his ass- all b4 Simon was born. Not 2 mention his theme song

The war of 1999? Wait a minute… In the anime “Hellsing Ultimate”, the major declared war on England and Alucard in 1999! Is that possibly the war Richter was preparing the future generations of monster hunters for?
Hellsing and Castlevania are different canons. The major sealed Hellsing's Dracula in the quantum field with the sacrifice of Shrodinger, the Belmonts sealed the Chaos powers in an eclipse after killing Dracula.

11:10 I don't know if anyone has said that earlier but this isn't the actual title for this game- it was actually given by fans since this project didn't even had a title before being abandoned. In fact, this project had been abandoned so early that all we know for sure is that it was meant to appear for Sega 32X and there is a sneak peak of three sprites of characters that eventually were heavily redrawn for SotN

Its not that bad. I mean, he is still human after all and they tell you explicitly in SOTN that Richter is the strongest vampire hunter of that time. Its just that not a single belmont has fought against an enemy that could manipulate their minds magically. For me it makes him more interesing to see him try to make the best for his bloodline giving the V.killer to the Morris clan to prepare the further belmont to what was the Demon Castle War.

While it would make sense that any Belmont would realize that they would eventually not be around anymore and would need to train another family of hunters able to wield the Vampire Killer. @@thesmashbeyonder5127 There's going to be a another Castlevania show called (Nocturne) staring Richter.
@@orangeslash1667 Cool! Can't wait!
Mad respect for including the radio drama! Everyone forgets about it. A video about Shanoa or Maria would be awesome to see. As always, I love your content
Is it canon or not? I ask people and some say it is while others say it’s not.
Great vid, Richter is one of my favorite characters.
Ah, yes. Richter. The character who, when faced with someone with a reflector, does not know how to operate.
Short hop fair repeatedly
forward tilt attack
I feel targeted for some reason
Anyone who starts over using their reflector I just start using whip attacks. Ends up working in my favor since they usually get lost on what to do since if they try to reflect I can easily throw them off guard with a F-Smash and getting a kill off of it.
I’m more aggressive with the whip anyway than with my projectiles so that’s also a plus.
You clearly haven't fought a mediocre or better Richter player.
Also this is a great video that pulls up some tiny things I didn't notice. I never looked at Richter and Dracula like that until you put both portraits next to each other. You also reminded me it's October so thanks bud.
Netflix: So let’s do like, none of that, and also change like several things for no reason besides appealing to “modern audiences.”
You mad he’s got a black girlfriend?
@@kingdreezy1427 when did she become his black girlfriend?
@@kingdreezy1427 more mad at how different it is from what it is supposed to be based on. Almost no character acts like their counterparts, for some reason they make it about the French and Haitian Revolution when that wasn’t even part of the game, and they’re treating Richter like a side character when he is supposed to be the protagonist.
As for Annette, while I find her to be an annoying ,insensitive, narcissistic character, I honestly wonder why they didn’t just make her a different original character since she has nothing in common with the game version.

if White Washing was, and is, racist (Christopher Lee as Fu Manchu, John Wayne as Genghis Khan, Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra, etc... ).
Blackwashing is equally important and should not be encouraged or supported.
There is more than enough of double standards, anti-White racism and denials of our history and our historical culture.
and by the way I'm a French man. Not an American so yes I am talking about the history of my country.
If it's not good in one sense, it's not good in the other either.
(Or we would 100% do it, I would love to see your reaction, you who support the Black Washing movement, if we did the same thing with Blade, Black Panther, or with Axel Foley the Beverly Hill cop. just to see your hypocrisy in broad daylight.)

Its not, sadly
there is a playable SoTN sprite Richter
...in Saturn version
My favorite Belmont! He has such an interesting story.
Great video as always, definitely one of my favorite Belmonts to go over
I did not know half of the post-game stuff about him breaking traditions and how meta it was
Glorious, indeed. Glorious.

Netflix’s Castlevania Nocturne verison of Richter is nothing like the game's counterpart.
I really dislike how they handled my boy. A real shame.
He's a side character in his own show 😢
While i firmly believe Simon is the epitome of what a Belmont is, Brave, Stalward, Unendingly determined. Richter could also compete for that title as well. Just in his own, unique way. A brilliant character, Truly.
I don't care what anyone says. Richter Belmont is the best and most iconic Belmont ever created. The old are cool and the new are easily forgotten but they blue suit and white ryu headband will forever be immortalized
the alliteration at the beginning was pure poetry.
Havent even finished the video yet and am already sold on the intro alliteration. Brilliant.
Richter wouldn't have fallen under Shaft's spell if he knew his battles would last for eternity when he joined Smash Ultimate.
this got recommended after a official teaser of the castlevania animation series starring as ritcher belmont. bless the algorithm
I'd love a season in the animated series where we get to watch Richter One Punch Man his way through to Dracula
They're apparently just making one more season before starting a spin-off. I hope that means we'll see other Belmonts. Preferably Richter.
And now they are making a series about Richter.
@@vanyadolly Fun Fact: the Belmont Whip is inspired by Indiana Jones.
Castlevania Nocturne
@@xenodusk5750 Richter has returned
Richter isn’t studying the map for the layout. He’s studying it because of the common areas that reappear in each Castlevania game. There is the courtyard, the clock tower, some have caves underneath as well as dungeons then there’s also the throne room where Dracula is.
Meti out here flexing with his H words
Was gonna comment something similar. Bravo Meti.
Next, the glory and tragedy of Adrian "Alucard" Tepes
Richter wanting to kick Dracula’s ass for eternity is kind of hilarious.
It would get boring though since he's not immortal like Dracula. 😂
Please do a video about Christopher Belmont. He was the first to defeat Dracula *twice* within the canon and become aware of the Count's 100 year pattern of resurrection.
When are we getting the Glory of Jonathan Joestar? That man needs more respect

love all the variety in this series, it's really cool, i dont even play castlevania nor smash, but im still down b/c it's your content. keep up the good work!
I dunno, I liked the aristocratic look more than the generic shounen look he had in Rondo of Blood. Guess that's just me though.
@@tepes6563 ayami kojima is just that good
@@dmas7749 That I 100% agree with
Personally, I prefer the “generic shounen” design compared to the Bishounen goth or the aristocrat look but the design chance does make sense. One is a good natured young man prepared to fight for the sake of the world while the other is a man who lost himself to his hidden desires.
Who's here after Netflix released a new Castlevania trailer with RICHTER fuckin BELMONT?!
When ya get the news Richter is coming on Netflix 🔥🔥🔥
btw you got one thing wrong, the whip does not drain the life force of the unworthy, quite the opposite, it is in a weak and seal state until released by confronting the whip's memory, which is him, it is harmless but also an useless weapon in its sealed state, but once released it returns to its full power, although that comes at the cost of the user's lifespan because of that power.
Sweet sweet alliteration. well played, subbed. takes balls to take it to that level these days!
and this is why Richter is my favorite belmont. and the one i continue to cosplay as every halloween
Man these videos are great.
Who's here after the first season of Castlevania Nocturne?
I am coming back to this video because of Castlevania: Nocturne.
Simon will always be my personal favorite Belmont (though Grant is my favorite Castlevania character) but no one can deny the massive Chad energy the Richter brings to the table
🤮👎 Richter is the best Belmont, the rest is forgettable
Christopher is the most badass- he had true bravery- defeated dracula twice & saved his son by whoopin' his ass- all b4 Simon was born. Not 2 mention his theme song

The war of 1999? Wait a minute…
In the anime “Hellsing Ultimate”, the major declared war on England and Alucard in 1999!

I don't know if anyone has said that earlier but this isn't the actual title for this game- it was actually given by fans since this project didn't even had a title before being abandoned. In fact, this project had been abandoned so early that all we know for sure is that it was meant to appear for Sega 32X and there is a sneak peak of three sprites of characters that eventually were heavily redrawn for SotN
Anyone here after Castlevania Nocturne

I don't see how it lines up with the game at all
This video was so awesome I subscribed. When I started Smash Ultimate I had no clue who Richter was. I just knew he was from Castlevania. I started playing with him and wad hooked, even in smash he’s really cool and energetic compared to Simon. This video was a big help in helping me understand how cool this character is. This whole time I been playing Smash I had no cool how absolutely badass this character was. Thanks for reaffirming my suspicion that the character I was gonna choose to main was gonna end up being super awesome.

Even though I respect the Belmont lineage,Richter has always been my favorite Belmont.
His theme, his skill makes one of the best ever.I was disappointed when you battle him on SOTN and his sprite doesn’t match his portrait....Glad that the Saturn version made him justice! He looked the part of “Master Vampire Hunter”
Love your “Aristocrat” take on him, though.Very cool vid...
Richter is easily my favorite Belmont. But Juste would like to have a word with you about being "The Most Powerful Belmont"
Holy...this was an awesome find for my favorite Belmont character! (Tho my fav character in the whole series is Alucard) going a bit deeper in the lore for Richter and giving out neat facts? Super awesome! Ultimate Belmont indeed!
And i see even more interesting shiz! Waifu stuff, different character lore dives, anime shiz, series questions, etc. I love this stuff and this channel looks awesome! Heck yeah! Imma subscribe and binge some good shiz! Thanks!
My favorite character. Sad that the series betrayed the Belmont's in favor of Alucard.

Is it odd that I think Richter and Joseph Joestar would be great friends? Both were hot-headed youths, wore headbands, used anti-vampire abilities, and got older and wiser later on.
Also, can anyone tell me where Meti got that background artwork from? it looks so badass!
Sick video I seriously like you style and you picked my favorite Belmont.
This is an old video, but if you happen to see this, what are your thoughts on Richter being anounced as the new mc of the Castlevania tv show?
While it would make sense that any Belmont would realize that they would eventually not be around anymore and would need to train another family of hunters able to wield the Vampire Killer.
I do still support the theory that Shaft's curse on Richter separated the connection between the Belmonts and the whip itself.
