Changing this cleared my P1289 and P1299 codes and my truck is running like new. Please like, comment, and subscribe if this was useful. Thanks! #Ecoboost #F-150 #CHT #Sensor #P1299
You saved me so much time! Thankyou!
Dude, you are the savior!
Shit! I was inside my wheel well feeling around the back of the engine with absolutely no room...got frustrated and did another UA-cam search and found your video. SPOT ON! A small extension to the deep well 19mm and Bamm! She runs perfectly.
THANKS!!
$35.00 and done
Good to hear brother! If this helped even just 1 person, it’s a win for me!
Having the same issue, saw another video and kept reading that it was by the wheel well, damn glad I found your video and thanks for posting the part, couldn't find it so I'll be ordering what you posted! Save me $500 bucks that I saw a quote online for that fix.
@@chrismayorga707 Man that’s awesome to hear, I spent way more time trying to figure this out myself than I should have. I’m glad this video helped you out!
Thank you so much for this. I had the wheel and well cover off and everything searching for this based on other videos I had watched for the 3.5 and 5.0L.
This was incredibly easy in comparison!
So glad it helped you!
Thanks, my mechanic buddy swapped this out for me for 70 bucks.
Do you know which size mm socket they use to unscrew sensor? Or they used a wrench
@@bmitch3726 he used a 19mm. Should take less than 5 mins to do.
@@OnePointLander yup that was it! Thank you 🙏🏽
Nice short and precise video, thank you.
You’re welcome. Thank you for the feedback.
Thank You for the precise video.
You are very welcome.
Hi thanks for video !
So my 2017 f-150 2.7 ecoboost truck had a bad water pump that went out. I replaced it, and also replaced the thermostate, new radiator cap, also bought new coolant temp sensor, and added new antifreeze. My truck as soon as I turn it on the thermostat Guage goes to overheating. I can’t seem to get rid of this what am I doing wrong or missing ?
If its popping a code before... you have to get the code reset
If you’re still having this issue let us know the code and we can help. Sorry for the late response, just came off deployment.
Help me out a lot thanks man!!
Glad it helped!
Thanks 🙏
thanks. i have a 2016 2.7
Did you get a permanent code on your truck
Worked, thanks!
You're welcome!
Is it the same for f150 2017 2.7 ecoboost? We remove the passenger tire and we cannot find behind the engine 😢
@@yaritzavargas6682 yes it should be in the same spot in the 2017. Really easy to get too, not behind the passenger tire.
I have the same truck. Could you please tell How many sensor ls does our truck have? Im getting different answers 🤦🏻♂️thanks
Just the one sensor shown in the video.
I was wondering this too.
Do you switch out the coolant temp sensor and the cylinder head sensor ?
Is this just for the 2.7? I keep seeing it being on the passenger side wheel well. Is that just for the 5.0? I’m confused. Is there 2 sensors?
@@TheHeelKid this is for the 2.7, not in the passenger side. Very easily accessible. The 5.0 is located in a different spot.
@@HighStakesGaming_ thank you for differentiating them! I changed mine yesterday.
So it’s different location than the 5.0 ?
That’s correct. I believe the 5.0 is behind the front right wheel well.
Do you know ifs it in the same spot on a 2016 Lincoln MKX 2.7 ecoboost?
I am not sure brother. Hope you have some luck finding it.
What were your symptoms?
My truck went into ‘Limp Mode’. The check engine light came on, was limited on acceleration. The temp gage was maxed out on ‘H’.
Yeah same, juddering like it was misfiring, temp gage to the max, but both radiator hoses were cold and not pressurized. Thought for sure the thermostat froze in the closed position but tried what you suggested first since it was the easiest first step and it resolved my problems as soon as I erased the codes.
So, good video, thank you, helped me solve my problem.
Can i rrset th code with out a scanner? Thanks
Not that I’m aware of. Replacing the part will clear the code.
My 2016 2.7 went into limp mode b 4 I replaced the part and is staying in limp mode after replacing part. I also did a scan tool clean but permanent code continued as well. The cod is p1299. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks
@@jswik2085 Is it throwing any other codes? Usually one you replace the CHT sensor it should take it out of limp mode.
That’s pickup have a trash engine. Don’t buy.
Not a fan of ford overall, but the 2.7l Ecoboost is their most reliable engine in 15-20 years. Transmission isn't great and the f150 has other issues, but it's a very robust dependable engine.
@@ethanieldude1 my son have one and when he make the nine payment the first engine have a misfire and ford install one but recently they need to buy another one engine and instal and pay over $6,000.00 and the mechanic payments. And was in the mechanic for about 7 months.
