This is so fucking good!!! I LOVE Jason’s songs and will put him up against anybody … literally one of my favorite artists. However, when I saw him and the 400 Unit on the banks of the Blackfoot River in Bonner-Missoula, MT, this one brought the house down for me. Chills head-to-toe and time travel back to the late 80’s. Honeysuckle Blue to me is a top 5 Southern Rock song of all time … seriously. Nobody does this better than Jason & the 400 Unit. Sadler taking lead vocals is perfect and you can just feel how much Jason is all in. One of the best recordings on UA-cam.
You guys in the US are lucky to get a lot of opportunities to see this band. I envy you. I listen to them all the time, and now, I’ve been fortunate to get tickets to see them in my capital, Edinburgh, later this year. Man, I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas……👍🏴🎸🇺🇸
Saw Drivin' n Cryin' play this 20230915. They thanked Isbell and Sadler for including it on the new album and then rocked it out for what seemed like 10 minutes.
This song might be the most Georgia song ever. Lived in the Atlana burbs for 25 years and both my kids were born there. Seen the good and bad parts. Such vivid imagery.
Saw these guys and they played this at the Tabernacle and kevin kinney came out and played with them this song and its sounded sick with 3 guitars, as the encore.
Fuck yeah! Jason Isbell just won all the cool points for playing this! I almost didn't recognize or remember Sadler Vaden being in Drivin nCryin. The boy can play and sing!
Songs about the undead are all fine and good, but it's awesome to hear some proper rock and roll featuring Sadler Vaden. Reminds me of living in Asheville, NC not long after the original version was released.
@@dalekarvonen1446 Why the past tense? They are still together releasing new music and touring. I think they are just as good now as they were back in the day.
I’m curious, I don’t think that Saddler is playing “Redeye” and I’m assuming that Jason’s SG is not the one that Saddler usually plays. Maybe someone can update this information for us. Killer performance!!
@@mikemetz4300 nah I know those two guitars ar not the actual guitars Red Eye does not come out at all and Jason has a exact replica Les Paul laser scanned to match RedEye. I just meant Sadler usually plays the SG, and Jason the Les Paul . I think they both picked up new guitars that are exactly kind of what the other guy normally plays- is what I meant by switching, if that makes any sense at all hahaha. And obvi Jason usually sings... great stuff. Love how the band is evolving.
@@jumpyonthehill nope, both are Gibsons, but they are 2 totally different guitars. This link shows him playing the same song with the Firebird in their show right before they played in Madison. ua-cam.com/video/qKepCatnz_k/v-deo.html
Purchased this album not only because I love Jason & 400's music, but love what they stand for. Hope to see y'all again in Austin; even better if it's for Beto's inauguration.

@@jamieeadsdrummer awesome, great band. I went out to the garage to rummage through my CDs after seeing the post. Hopefully catch you guys in Wilkes Barre next January
@@Blindsquirrel74 I saw them a lot in 90s too. I also saw them a few times between 2013-2016 when I was living in Memphis. They were as good then as they always have been.
As mentioned below, it is a Kevn Kinney (Drivin'-n-Cryin') song, but Sadler toured with DnC as their lead guitarist for some time before joining the 400 Unit.
That crowd looks like they have no idea how amazing of a song they are listening to
Got the same vibe. Probably a generational thing. I would’ve lost my shi# … kinda like when I saw them play this live.❤
Maybe their parents would know DnC!
Right? Fuckin zombies
Fuggin clueless lol
They were sperms in b@llsacks when this came out
Great version. Long live Kevin Kinney and Drivin N Cryin.

Sadler Vaden is the man! Elevates every song he plays with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. They are lucky to have him and we are lucky to hear him. :)
Man those Gibsons sound crisp and Chad and Jimbo so tight as always. Best touring band out there right now! Well oiled machine!
Jason’s was wayyy quiet during his solo though
@@sethie_shots Yeah not sure what up with that while listening through phone. When I streamed to my audio system it was much better!
@@sethie_shots hard pan to the right, sounds better with headphones but his volume was slightly low.

Driving And Cryin‼️👍✊👌Good Job
GREAT presentation of a GREAT song!!!!!!!
Not that I needed it, but I have another reason to love Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit; they cover Dryn-N-Cryn!
Saw these guys and they played this at the Tabernacle and kevin kinney came out and played with them this song and its sounded sick with 3 guitars, as the encore.
I saw them play this last night in Harrisburg PA...
They killed it...
Highlight of the night!
Just really spending time with Jason and Sadler and the boys for the first time. Boy do I have a beautiful journey ahead.
Do you ever...!

Doesn't look like that Bama crowd knows how lucky they are to hear this song!! Wake up people!
Sadler just can't get away from that good old Rock and Roll. His playing takes me back to the 60's. Never see him featured enough!
Agreed. Monster chops.
ive seen them live twice, jason lets him take alot of the solos and he always shreds
Just saw them play this last night at Red Rocks. Awesome!
Man! Would love to see them at Red Rocks.
This has become my favorite song on the album. And boy Jason is great on harmony vocals.
The original version is pretty damn good too
Love ya, Jimbo.
Absolutely excellent rendition! Well played, Sadler!
Jason has to be one of the best guitar players alive today.
Jason fucking killed it as the lead guitarist on this !!
These guitar sounds sweet Jesus
Drivin N Cryin
saw them play this at the Ryman last month!!!!
Can't wait to see them in Cincinnati next Friday! First live show since COVID!
Wouldn’t waste your time!
Freaking Rad you guys switched guitars and places for this one. Energy is crazy. I want to get my guitar and jam.

Tell me there's a full concert vid coming !
Those Magnatone amps deliver 😋
Hoped for a live version and dies not disappoint!! Chad Gamble and Jimbo be da bomb.
It's funny you say that because usually they have no balls. Jason and Sadler destroy but with wimpy backing.
Thank you guys, and thank you Georgia.
thank you for this
Upchurch sent us here
Some nasty guitar work! Plus amazing audio quality!
new respect for jason. he did the song justice
I think you finally beat the video of Godamn Lonely Love at Workplay 2012 with this one.

Good. God.

How great is that
Jason Isbell...Georgia's best kept secret.. I remember him back from The Drive by Trucker days
He's from Alabama
Kevin Kinney is loving this. These dudes know how to play southern rock.

Good to see Dadler on the foreground.

Nobody will ever sing that song like Kevin Kinney. Great guitar work though. 👍
Guy ain't no slouch tho. Think Jason could do it better tho
Damn. So good!
Brilliant…that is all
Great band, but on this occasion, Sadler is The Man!!! 👍🏴🎸🇺🇸
Highlight of the show in Madison. Vaden rocked a Firebird instead of a Les Paul. Blew the roof off!

With the name Sadler Vaden he either had to be a lead guitarist or a super villain. Glad he chose the high road.
