With a name like Sadler Vaden, he could only be a lead guitarist or a super villain.
I’m glad he chose wisely.
Having seen Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit several times now, Sadler is a beast of a guitar player. He and Jason are a great 1-2 punch live.
This is one of the best of the "5 riffs" series thus far.
When super talented guitarists like Jason Isbell choose someone to play lead guitar in their band, you know the standard is incredibly high. Sadler is an awesome guitar player and Jason definitely chose well.
Sadler is a killer player and I love the AC/DC stuff - that was pretty much my first learned guitar solo. I can totally relate.
Saw Sadler playing with Jason a few years ago at the Roundhouse in London. He's a great player.

lots of great insights thanks Sadler...especially about taking a break when you feel some frustration. I'm a drummer but love guitar and that process has always worked for me on both instruments and life in-general.
Underrated monster
I have an FG-150 Nippon Gakki that my Step-Dad gave me. I love the sound of that old guitar.
Good stuff!
this is a great episode. A little bummed that the camera person didn't scoot back about 2 feet to show more of the fretboard but yea great stories.
Would love to see you ask Chris Masterson to do this series. He is in Steve Earle's band
Have the same guitar passed down from my dad also
Leslie at the Windjammer !
My best acoustic that I own, and I've never found the match for is a Yamaha LD10.
Never heard anyone make a Gibson twang like SV.
Sadler seem to me like a young bukovac. Lol
