I've had some 285/75R16 Mudstars from Nankang on my 99 Dodge Ram 2500 for at least 5 years now. I can't wear them out! I use the crap out them and they look brand new. The sidewalls will dry rot off the rim before that tread wears out! Really impressed with them. Will definitely be buying more Nankang in the future.
My mudstars are the same way . They last forever. I don't think they make them anymore
They're popular because they're inexpensive, stretch well, They're offered in some relatively oddball sizes, they grip for days and they have nice sidewall & tread designs.
Exactly, they look amazing. The only downsides are slightly weak wet performance and they are a bit noisy. At least the NS20's on my MK1 Golf are.
@@Rodhizzzle use them what you fine them good for if you notice they ain't great for grip on wet conditions also probably depends which tire you got, but just take what I said as grain of salt. Because I don't have much experience with them.
@@Rodhizzzle Slightly weak wet performance, you say? Grip for days dry, you say?
Sooooooooooo they make hooning around corners slightly easier after it rains?
SOLD.
Rodhizzzle are they good for fast driving

Hey everyone i just put 4 new Nankang SP-9 Cross Sport tires on my 2015 Lincoln MKC AWD which is a small to medium sized SUV. And i have to admit that they are by far MUCH BETTER then the stock OEM Michelin Latitude Tour HP that my vehicle came with. Simply an excellent tire for someone on a budget that still requires; reliability, performance, and a good tread design for bad weather snow etc...
I drive 100 miles a day 5 days a week. I bought a set of tires by Nankang because they were super cheap online for my work car. I’ve been running them for the last 2 years with no issues and the tread still looks great. They grip well and aren’t noisy. I’m about to buy a set of Nankangs for my Boxster and this time it isn’t because they are cheap.
I run nankangs, I believe the ATR 2s. Not 100% sure on that since it's been over a year since I bought my tires. BUT!!!! They stretch real nice (205/40/18) on an 8.5. Also note I drive on them 1k miles a week as a pizza guy. I shit you not, I roll hard, maxed out coils, stretched tires, and deliver pizzas..... because I'm stupid. But I've put about 20k miles on mine with 1% camber front, 2% camber rear, and have loved these tires. THEY DO NOT PERFORM WELL AROUND FREEZING TEMP WITH WATER ON ROAD WHEN STRETCHED! But other than that they are a fantastic tire
Ah a fellow pizza boi with a slammed car and stretched tires lol. We might be stupid, but we love it.
Nankang AR-1 is outperforming R888R for less money.
Domas64 ? It's only really cheaper with 15's
Great tyre!
Agree, but it's not so cheap
Lots of people run them on the nordschleife
Too bad they ar not available in the US
I have some Nankang sp-9's on a civic and they are great.
Aren't they...? I just put 4 of the Nankang SP-9 Cross Sports on my 2015 Lincoln MKC AWD. And i have to admit they are BY FAR better then the stock OEM Michelin Latitude Tour HP my vehicle came with.
I have sp-9 and they handle pretty well.
Im currently running their NS2R and love its for a daily and track tire. Taiwan for the win~
Jenkin Chu how is it? with road noises and fuel consumption?
Great content. The editing/cutting style of the video is a little tough for me to take, but kudos for jamming a ton of information in a short video. Thanks!
I ran NS-20's in 255/30/18 on my BMW 328. One day I'm merging onto freeway on a soaking wet onramp, ass end slides out and I'm thinking "OK, these are shit tires in the rain" I get home, look at the tires and they're BALD! So then I'm thinking "Well maybe they didn't last long then", I find the receipt and they're just over 3yrs old. They wore perfectly flat and I'd never known they were bald until I slid...unlike when some 20's I'd bought already had Lexani's on them and they were garbage due to sidewall buckling and flatspotting when parked.
I've upgraded to the NS-25 since the NS-20 lasted so well (I also needed to go down sidewall size due to rubbing and they didn't have NS20 in the size I needed) and I'm looking into getting them on my X5M as well.
Dang man sounds like some trial and error! What does the ride look like now? You should upload it to our gallery sometime! bit.ly/2Ma4oca
I like my AS-1's on my light coupe, don't regret buying them!
Expensive tyres will not make up for lack of talent, any tyres will find a ditch.
I have the milestar variant in the ms932 xp sport and so far they have held there own vs my previous falken and Goodyears.
My homie told me nangkang are cheap and real good quality sticky great for track or all season for street.
Have you got this tires
Someone tested the All Season of Nankang in 205/45 R17? They are like 65$ and other brands are like 90-150 per tire
Simply answer is: They make tires for track - racing tires - (well not all types) and you can get semi slick tires way cheaper , two or four times than first next tire ! Nankang price is cca 50 euros, next is Federal . 100 euros, Yokohama 200. And thats it ! Some are actually usable in dry weather but people buy them more just because of how they look - with nice rims, stretched + race profile tire = sexy hot :) And for lowest price possible ! Thats about all.
Does the job with no complaints. Running NS-20 on BMW f30 335i and it is a daily driver car to work etc. The car doesn't see tracks or anything close. So very satisfied. It does what I paid for it and then some.
I run Nankang Mudstars on my Bronco, good tires!
I'm amazed about the NS-20's. They are actually really good
Hi.do they have rims protector?
I had a set of nankang NS20 on my Gs300. Grip ok on dry road. It really sucks in wet condition. Noise on highway.
What about the nankang conqueror at 265 65r17 for a jeep liberty kk
Got some on my truck. Pretty solid tires
AR-1 and NS2-R are great value for money
I would like to know the history of Achilles
Me also
It's a great brand of affordable tires. Have them on my daily, I wouldn't try to beat any personal best with them on tho lmao!
The AR1's are sweet!
What do You think about Nankang’s Sportnex As-2+ @Fitmentindustries?
Do they have rims protector?
I bought a car with 4 new nankang ns25 tires. All failed road force balance.
8:15 is why I came here.
Nokia made the first winter tire in the world
I dont get the mcdonald comparison, but looking at the tyre tests they dont strike me like a particularly impressive tyre.
nankang ns20: 9/10 on 2020 AutoBild, 19/20 2020 Auto Zeitung, 6/6 2018 Auto Bild. They are cheap though
So in summary, these are only for burnouts, grassroots drifting, and cambered out hotboi civics...
@@potatochobit My mom gets only the best, I'd get her Michelin Pilot Sport S on 18 Koenig's . She drives a red 2016 Hyundai Sonata. Hybrid. 😎 KDM Crew. 🇰🇷
But they do make "race" tires, like the AR-1
@@alexstromberg7696 Id rather trust a tire with better R&D along with, I drive my wife and dogs. Im a skilled driver but also because I always have trusted tires. You get what you pay for.
@@Dezzylyricz so you go by "more money is always better"? I think the AR-1s are perfectly fine.
@@alexstromberg7696 not really. I go for rubber compound, load index, grip, water evacuation, realiblity. With all of what I need in a tire it's going to cost more. That why I save up. It's expensive because of the engineering and design. But at the end of the day I will know in any weather or sudden evasion maneuver needed to avoid an accident I will have full control of my 25,000$ vehicle and the safety of my passengers and most of all my wife.
What are those silver wheels on the right of the gold ones?!!!
Next to your head
You do see the AR-1 and NS2R compared to the R888 and AD08 etc. Only in the last year or two though I guess.
Anybody know what black mesh wheels are next to his shoulder on his right?
ESR'S!
What exactly do you mean by The truth about nankang tires?
That's exactly what i felt when i read the title to this video. It made me immediately think this is probably a horrible tire company. When in reality they are not and so i think he should change the title. To Nankang tire history...!!! This sort of title will immediately turn people off thinking the worst. Which isn't fair to the company since they are a reputable brand.
@@tomtalker2000 They are good tires then? Some of those strange name Chinese tires are real rubbish, so its good to know, if you are on a budget, these are an alternative. Thanks.
@@@phillipjones3439 I just put on 4 Nankang SP-9 Cross Sport tires on my 2015 Lincoln MKC. Which is a small to medium sized SUV if your not aware of the vehicle i'm talking about. And TRUTH be told they are BY FAR better then the stock OEM Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires my vehicle came with. Their was a little "humming sound" in the initial beginning. However that went away very quickly as they wore. And have been extremely smooth and confident in ALL weather conditions. The SP-9 was basically engineered for CUV & SUV's so it's quite fitting for my type of vehicle. I got 4 of these tires online from Simpletire.com for around $400 and some change with free shipping. The quality and tread is EXTREMELY similar to either a Michelin or Continental tread design. I was orginally going to buy some Milestar tires specifically the MS932 Sport. However, when i read all the various online reviews about them being loud i said forget it. And i'm SUPER GLAD i did...!!! Nankang's are even used on some new vehicles don't ask me which vehicle manufacturers because i'm not sure exactly who uses them. However, i know for a fact that at least 2 car manufacturers are using them on their vehicles. I did A TON of research before purchasing new tires and i feel very confident in my decision to go with these Nankang's. So i wouldn't shy away from these at all they are excellent tires for someone on a budget.
Whats better NS20 or NS25? Have a FF
Hi do they have rim protector? Ns20 or as2+?
APEX Nurbrurg (The performance car rental/ taxi company) has been running Nankang performance tires in their fleet of sports cars & supercars with positive results. These aren't really cheapo tyres anymore.
I agree for the most part with this video but anyone looking for a serious track day tire should take a serious look at the Nankang NS2-R and the AR-1. They're more popular in Europe and are almost universally held in high regard as an excellent value for money performance tire. They are also used in motorsport. Check those two models out.
Yup! Nankang AR1 & NS2R are some of the most popular budget-ish semi-slick in Europe. For my car Nankang is the only option in stock size ( both AR1 and NS2R come in ridiculously small 165/50R15 )
They also don't need a lot of heat before working optimally so it's great for me who don't do many back-to-back laps.
AR1 tread also looks sexy as hell 🔥
Over the years I've had NANKANG tyres on several different cars and they're a great tyre for the money. For just daily driving they will do more mileage than a lot of more expensive brands...
@@ray6.488 That's not relevant. Most users have never been to a track !
Most people will actually end up in a ditch on race spec rubber....

Thank you for your review man.... Will use this now
@@PasigMrPogi Try either Nankang NS-2 or NS-20. I know both of them. They are not the best in the world, but certainly good enough. And they are immensely good value for the money. And they do seem to last forever.
Well, the longevity is due to the silica/rubber compound. They are quite hard, so do expect to be able to feel the road.
@@thefreedomguyuk shit that’s music to my ears feeling the road. That’s what you’d want in an enthusiast car. More road feel means you’ll know what your tires are doing.
Made in Taiwan has become the name of high quality.
Can't be a rival to the R888R?! I had many sets the toyo's and AR1 and the Nankang are BETTER in every performance aspect!
Best and cheapest tire to stretch! Zero problems over 40k miles put on several pair
Just got this tire stretched and I got -6 camber all around will see how they hold up
They are one of the few manufacturers still offering 13 inch diameter with a few width and profile choices. 185/60/13 go great on my Escort and look the business too.
205 50 13 manta
showing how they make tires is the coolest thing ever ... especially hgh
Well, Nankang AR-1 is constantly compared to Toyo R888R. At least here in UK.
Have nankangs all seasons on my pathfinder, even with 4inchs of snow never need to take it out of 2wd 😉
Idk if im proud or embarrassed to say but i rock some Nankang on my 2003 acura tl for 4 years now. Tires have more than 200k on it. Yes the same pair no patches or repair so far. Its on its last leg but hey it still runs good. Hope it can last til the end of the year. Knock on wood!!
like other people already said: The AR1 is the best performance per euro tire here in europe. and supporting a lot of teams and racing cups here. they know what they are doing.
Thanks for the great review of Nankang. After hours of comparison videos I was ready to buy Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport 235/35 R19 for our Audi S3 (MY15). I had been advised on a service and inspection last week that the left rear was lower tread than the rest and probably only had 5,000 km left in it. I was ready to sacrifice all other tyres on the car and get 4 new ones at a cost of $1,100.00 AUD. I had to check the brand on the front as I new that they were a Chinese brand that had only been added 2 years ago; Nankang. I have never had a problem with these tyres losing traction like quite often happens with the Continental tyres in the rear of an AWD car. I'm now thinking of getting 2 Nankang on the rear only as the fronts still look relatively new with ample tread. These only cost $154 AUD each. Every time someone works on my car they feel the need to comment on the cheap tyres on the front. Tyre shops included. Sure, they sell the brand, and they'll sell anything to anyone, but they don't know how good they actually are. They just see them as a cheap tyre.
I've used these tires for 2 yrs now and I'm absolutely impressed about how well they work with drift use
Props for remembering to say “arguably” after every “first radial” 😂 gg Alex
Do tire history over achilles ties
thx to this video i might actually consider buying from the brand hahah just because of the history. thx for sharing.
I put Nankang mudstar on my cj7. So far they have been great especially for how much I paid for them. Have not gotten to try them in the snow yet. But so far I would buy another set
Nankang AR-1 at the moment is the hottest pirce/performance R comp tire used by Nordschelife track day bro enthusiasts.
The AR-1 is better than all the comparable tires from the more expensive brands, crazy grip.
N: Yokohama can I borrow your logo.
Y: Sure, but don't make it too obvious.
N: Thanks fam.
Ps: The truth about.....Ling Long tyres lol
Looks just like the Hankook logo to me.
What's Ling long tires??? Have no heard of that brand.
Lol we have Ling Longs at work for cheap LT/HT tires other than that stupid name they're not too bad as a work tire haven't seen many come back with complaints other than the morons who overload the work van/truck then plop a trailer that's way too packed and the rear tires rub against the 1/4 and eventually cause a blowout
@@emanueltorres4093 You don't want to know what ling long are, basically the proving ground is the customer.
Nankang Tire and Yokohama Tire had history of technical cooperation and joint venture since year 1959 (not anymore though). For a period of time, Nankang belonged to Yokohama group, like a daughter brand in the same company. It's not surprising the logo looks alike. Hope you could stop mocking before checking fact, bro!
I have lived in Japan for the last fro years where there very popular and I love these tires I run ns2rs for the street and at-1s for the track
They grip like Yokohama, last longer and cost less, what else can you ask for?
Before you buy any nagkang, look at tyre tests of them, most are just rubbish and for a bit more money you could buy a better and safer tyre.
I love my AR1's
I had the chance to track my car on Federal RS-PROs and AR-1s. The grip and lack of sidewall flex from the AR-1s was insanely good. This is coming from someone who only tracks budget Federals. The AR-1s will be my next track tire.
Nankang has the best tire money can by for ultra high performance and the awards to prove it "NANKANG AR-1"
I love my ns-2 ultrasports they are cheap, grip well and have nice tread pattern, kinda flexy but I have kinda meaty fitment (225/45r17 on 7j).
No wonder your tyres are unstable. You bought the wrong size..... Go for 205 or 215 instead, and you will get a much better grip.
Your setup is not "meaty", it's just not very good. It's just about within specs, but not good. Optimal for those tyres are 8" rims.
Can you guys do achilles tires? They pretty popular too.
Do you think we can get a video on the best looking tyres? You know, aesthetically pleasing sidewalls/tread patterns, the way the tread wraps around the edges ect. There's this Mk5 Golf GTI in my town with BBS CH wheels on it, the fitment and stance is on point but every time I see the tyres I damn near jizz and I don't know why. I don't know what the brand is because I haven't got a close enough look but there's just something about them that looks right, they're not too beefy, they're not very stretched but they just look like a full on track weapon setup and really completes the look. Care to do a video on this?
Everyone should give you guys props for uploading that much content in so little time apart ... I sense Alex's jaw will say "bro that's enough for 2017, see you in 2018"... joke aside mad respect to all of you guys at Fitment Industries for the hard work you put out.
Doesnt compare against r888? You never tried the Nankang AR-1 i think? They are better but also more expensive unfortunately..
Nankang is Taiwanese or ROC like Kenda and Maxxis as well. Sailun and Westlake are Chinese mainland or PRC. They are all great tires, but place of origin matters to some tire buyers.
Just had the NS 25 Installed on my 2018 civic type r - fingers crossed...
Howd they end up doing? Possibly pulling trigger on these in nezt few days...
Wondering the same, just ordered
They holding up well - 10,000 miles on them - road noise is a bit loud - I use them here in New England for the Colder weather but are a great year round choice with plenty of grip in all temp ranges and rain - i would buy them again.
@@anthonydigangi9877 hell yeah thanks. Putting them on my subie I was concerned about grip & wet weather.

BOOOM!!!!
I just leave this here...
Federal? Whats up? Still nothing? K...
It's in the making.
On the list man don't worry!
Do hankook tires
Wet grip on the federals I've tried aren't good at all. 595 and 595 Evo had bad wet grip
achilles?
Would these tires be good for an 08 Saturn Aura? I’m just tryin to make it through Missouri’s ice and snow.
If you get an all season model they would work fine
You've said " NANKANG " at least 4 billion times.
Well maybe its because the video IS about NANKANG TIRES. Lmfao.
i have nankang AT's on my Skoda Yeti 4X4.slightly reduced economy but overall cope well with all the UK weather, small back roads, motorway and stone track to my house. 40 thou mile warranty. what's not to like. one of the main features is the tread stone ejection. at £84 per tyre delivered.

Mark Nieves I 2nd this. I bounce between nankang and Achilles depending on who is cheaper at the time. Only downside is I have to buy 4 at a time #subielyf
Early Birds where y’all at ?
When it comes to tires, safety is paramount. I would not go any lower. They are an old, established Taiwanese company. Nankang seems to be a sweet spot to me. Low price with reliable quality.
Do the truth about achilles tires
Maybe in murica its inexpensive in asia nankang tyre are expensive af, no I'm not joking its much more expensive than other brands.
How do the NS 25 compared to the NS 20 in your opinion I used the new 25 but prefer that the 20
Have purchased several sets if Nankangs for different cars...never an issue with wear, ride comfort or road noise. And should I ever wear them out, at their price point, idk...just swap em out for new ones.
I had always continental, hankooks, pirellis on very powerful cars. When i buyed a used benz who had 19 inch rims running on Nankang NS20 on the back and the front tyres where Goodride, i was like i will change them as soon as possible. But i didnt have time, so i drove them also under wet conditions, and i was amazed with the grip. For Notice, years ago i had the same Benz with 18 inch rims and only contis, i always had to be careful when driving in the wet. So driving now with Nankang/Goodride combi is really funny, but i will probably go for Nankang All Around. The Price is good but the grip is surprisingly good.
Where I work we offer Nankang as a kid level tire we have Fuzion for lower/cheap tires (which for their price point they're really good), Nankang for mid tier and Firestone for name brand tires and I really like the Nankangs they're really good for what they cost
I only know of this company, because they were the only tires I could find that were small enough to fit my ford festiva. And they were $40. Lol
My remapped Merc E400 coupe (just shy of 400bhp) had a set of nangkang ultra sports when I bought it. I was set to immediately change them but was astounded to realise they’re actually pretty good tires!
the fucking music and jump cutting.
Anyone care to chime in on what they think of the new NS-25 now that the NS-20 has been discontinued?
Wondering this too as I have ns20s with low tread. Apparently no one has shit to say as they did with the ns20s when I bought them
Running them on a RWD q50 and they beat the crappy dunlop run flats. Good all season so far haven't used them in heavy snow. Good grip even when pushing on corners. Have about 5000 miles on them so far.
shaunskii my car came with a new set and I’d buy them again. Not loud, I can launch them hard, they grip real nice around corners. I live in New England. So as far as cold weather they can get you around but not recommended for foul weather.

I am pretty sure the "Nankang" should be pronounced as "nahn-gahng." all "Ah" sounds as I am from South Korea next to China. Anyway, good introduction.
Most complaints seem to be regarding wear.
They make tires in wear ratings from 180-560. Take your choice.

I’m using 225-45 R17 NS2s on my 2008 C300 Mercedes. Great price. Really sturdy. A bit noisy but nothing too bad. I paid US$73 each here in my country (Guatemala, Central America) which is a really good deal. Very happy with them so far. Recommended.
Just bought a new NanKang All Season 185 65 R14 for my Caravan, hoping such a normal car tire will fit perfectly on my caravans Rims which seem very like a normal car rim..
Then watched your video here and feel confident in my choice of going NanKang.. Especially since the tire only costed me 357 Danish crowns!
we use nankang only in the B-ZERO and C1 racing classes. running 155/55-14 ;)
Do a comparison on nankang with Yokohama tires. Im getting new tires soon and need information on both.
Yokohama are one of the best tyre brands in the world. Yokohama produce some excellent tyres. Yokohama are personally my favourite. I might be 2 years late, but if you are on a tighter budget, Nankangs will do the job just fine. They are solid mid range tyres that will last the test of time. If you want to spend more money, Yokohama is the way to go.
