Clutch can also save your ass. Keeping 1 or 2 fingers on it after you lift the wheel. That way you can get you instinctively pull that while you're blanking on how to do things.
I’ll constantly just do random circles or use the foot brake not in a wheelie just to build that muscle memory, actually really helps when sht gets real lol
A good tip is before trying to hit balance point for your first time practice popping up the front end and slamming the rear brake to get yourself use to that repetitive motion incase you panic
Do a few starts from half way up a hill normally, not for a wheely. Getting use to starting on a hill will get you accustom to pressure sensitivity.... it's all muscle memory.
Keep 1 or 2 fingers on the clutch. If you feel scared or think the bike will flip, pull on the clutch. That'll instantly drop your front wheel. Tbh it's a safer off switch then the rear brake.
And if you don’t understand the mechanics of the balancing part, rear break will bring the front tire down, and of course, clutch and throttle will help bring the front up, practice on getting very comfortable riding the bike with the clutches friction zone.( controlling your speed with your clutch)
I don’t know why but I’ve never realized you have to pump with the front brake. That makes a lot more sense now of why I’d struggle to get to the balance point as easy.
Great advice!! So far I can wheelie just by giving it throttle but I couldn’t hold it. I’ll try the front brake and then gas it. What are you doing with the clutch? Do you drop it to pull the front end up quickly or do you pull it after the front end comes up too high along with rear braking?
All you got to do is bump the cluch have your foot hovering over the rear brake have a steady throttle over time you will find it’s really easy on a higher power bike
Is it harder on a bicycle or a dirtbike? I have noticed most people who can do wheelies, never paid for their first bike, which definitely would help, i could just fall off the back without any worry, same as i try on a bicycle.
The way I convinced my parents was they seen all my friends riding in the neighborhood and I was the only one left out and they felt bad my dad swore he’d never get me one but after seeing how sad I was watching my friends ride n have fun he got me one but I had to prove to him I actually know how to ride cuz he just didn’t want me to get hurt
I have gotten to where I think I’ve got most of the form down, but I struggle getting to the balance point a lot of the time, and also I have a habit of pulling in the clutch instead of using the brake when the wheel gets up from riding a 450sx as a woods bike when I was 15 @112 pounds. Its a hard habit to drill out, any tips I could use to switch to using the brake instead for better control?
emphasize the back brake for a bit. super simple drill, pop the wheel up a little, and slam the bike down with the back brake. dont pop up a lot, just a little bit (slowly higher and higher obv), but only just enough to where you dont instinct grab the clutch that way you get used to the feeling of using it. then just slowly build from there. youll not just develop the muscle memory to use the back brake, but youll also slowly learn how much brake you actually need and how hard you need to press. this will also help with clutch work as the back brake will make the bike wanna quit if you slam it too hard and forget the clutch. it really is just a nice easy drill that works multiple areas. you could also argue that it helps with the balance too, so you dont fall when stopping your wheelie. hope that helps a little :)
I finally got bike wheelies down i had to start with my quad, but man the key is to literally say fuck it balls to the wall its the only way to get it up just be on that back brake and rip it
Question. I’ve been practicing slow wheelies on my quad to learn all the fundamentals before moving over to my big bike. Do you think the front brake is actually necessary? I’ve been getting it to lift pretty easily with just dumping the clutch
Load is front brake, you cover the rear brake incase you wheelie too far up you have to be ready to tap the rear brake and that will bring you back down
I really like how you teach simple but straigjt forward and easy to understand. That being said. How the fuck am i supposed to have brake control with sg12s or any mx boot for that matter😂
ill never get foot brake .. been years of trying just cant i pancik and take my legs off the pegs .. can u make a vid on how to get a hand back brake been looking for a vod just cant find any
try littler wheelies and emphasizing the back brake by slamming your front end down with it. find a spot where you dont panic, and then just practice slamming down. its super awkward but it helps a lot of people
What are you talking about. You dont need any motor work to do a wheelie. People do wheelies on 50’s they even do them on bicycles. They must have leg work i can see it 😂😂😂
I somehow get scared and forget about the back brake

Get a stronger spring or double them up on your brake pedal.

you need to explain more of the "clutch, throttle, break" you glossed over that part

Did you use front brake or back brake and what gear
It's a 4stroke. Give it gas it's going to come up on its on 😂, good video
Great trick and moves to learn faster👍
what do you mean by clutch throttle break control? Do I have to be using the clutch for gears or just the back breaks
Body postion, pop, manage until Load, realease, cab fare! Got it!
Brilliant thank you ❤
Did this, it worked now I just wheelie all the tiime 😉
I always stall exactly like that 😂
what gear to wheelie ? gear 1 or 2
Bro making this shit look easy af 😂
How much time do you think i will need to learn how to wheelie?
Is this for 2 stroke or 4 stroke
Y yess that is how you wheelie no one will ever learn how to do it from that
If I'm excellent doing it on bicycle, will it help learning it on dirt bike?
Hey I'm new to bikes. Which bike model is this??
Question. I’ve been practicing slow wheelies on my quad to learn all the fundamentals before moving over to my big bike. Do you think the front brake is actually necessary? I’ve been getting it to lift pretty easily with just dumping the clutch
Dumping the clutch ain’t good for the bike, learn how to wheelie with just the gas no clutch
So you hold the clutch when your in the wheelie?
I don’t know how to wheelie but this is helpful
Its mx bike you need to press the clutch and let them coast or else it will stall.
Thanks, helped a lot
But without doing a wheelie will it do it anyways when ur just using the throttle and when it drives will it just do it automatically
What gear are you in
I use my back break I like clutch pop throttle I did wheelies on a 2014 yz450f it was scary I was afraid and it was super fun
Thanks bro i dont have a bike yet but i will save it for later 😂❤
I think the bike on which we are performing the wheelie should have good low end torque, tell me if I m right or wrong
Dirt bikes can handle a little roughness right? I dont want to learn on my triumph.
I wish i could do wheelie like you😢
I’ve been waiting for this vid
how do you use the clutch tho and when like when you’re in the air
Question so when I load up I’m holding front brake back brake and the clutch and then releasing all three while giving it throttle
Oh... And don't forget the added rear brake on the bars
My rear fender delete should arrive soon 😂
I feel like I need a slowed down version 😭 I want to learn it only cause it scares me, want to conquer that fear

Witch brake do we use is it the front😅
Roll in breaks on a 450 is crazy
My issue is popping the bike up, maybe it’s the fact I’m weak compared to the weight or my bike or the fact my clutch has a super late release
Easy... like writing a novel...
1 - Grab a pen
2 - Grab a sheet
3 - Press the pen in the sheet...
3 - Write a novel...
That's either the 450sr or its got motor work I can see the power
What are you talking about. You dont need any motor work to do a wheelie. People do wheelies on 50’s they even do them on bicycles. They must have leg work i can see it 😂😂😂

1st gear for slow wheelies and modulate the clutch as needed
