    For my 2014+ 636 owners, if you have ABS, do a slight burnout before starting to practice. Your ABS light will come on and then your bike will behave like the ABS is off without needing to pull the fuse. I call it "stunt mode" lol.
    Also I love how casually brah is able to explain things while being on the back wheel lmao.

    I'm 43, been riding for 20 years. Tried to learn wheelies before UA-cam, on and off, but never got good at them. I did have one good balance point wheelie, but it was on accident. I'm still on sport bikes and still chasing that skill. This is the most helpful video I've seen so far. I chased one out today, after watching your video last night, longest wheelie I've rode yet. • @NoBrake_Noah
      @NoBrake_Noah 3 місяці тому +2

      When learning, I started by riding the brake and slowly used less and less brake. Now I clutch up, catch it with the brake, and try to only use throttle to maintain BP and slow down slightly. Slowing down with just engine brake feels so weird. The slack in my chain and cush drive scares me into hitting the brake a lot.

      One thing I've wondered. I know u keep the bars straight coming down but let's say it's not perfect or the front wheel comes down at an angle. I see it alot especially in motogp. Do I just loosen the grip with my arms and let it straighten by itself? Will it send you into a wobble if it's not perfectly straight? Especially at higher speeds? Or Will it just correct itself

    I know gixxerbrah said this applies to all bikes but KEEP IN MIND.. As far as MT/FZ07's go... 1st gear wheelies do not need a clutch up because they are very torqy bikes. Practice just getting that wheel off the ground, then chase them out appply brake ect... and practice.. (only applies to my knowledge of the MT/FZ lineup.)

  • @Matbroek
    @Matbroek 2 місяці тому +3

    Body position is also key. I'm learning as well but my issue is that I'm leaning forward. As you can see in the slowmo @13:09 he is sitting straight instead of leaning forward.
    A buddy of mine said: Before you start a wheelie, tap the footbrake so your foot is there and tilt your head a little bit upwards (keeps you form looking down) and keep it there. It helped me a bunch. Later when you get higher you'll need to tilt your head downwards so you can see where you are going.
    Also I have a MT-07, and started in second gear about 50km/h = 30 mph. Keeps it a bit more stable and less loopable than first gear. But as he said; every bike is different.
    Oh and don't forget to pull the ABS fuse if your bike has it. It might interfere when you tap your rear brake if you want to get your bike back down. That's what I've been told anyway. Wheel speed difference front and back might mess up the ABS computer's thinking.

    Hell yeah great video brah, I very much relate to being that guy who is much better than the other friends in my group at wheelies, but still I am chasing them just barely while right around balance point.
    One thing that you didn't touch on that I think is important, is the actual hand motion of dumping the clutch. 1-2 fingers is going to be much better than using all four as you would when just coming to a stop normally. Quick, smooth motion of flicking the clutch out fast, instead of riding it out slowly like you are used to. When I learned and also helping others learn, this has been a common issue with beginners

    the brazillian swing, when they swerve the bike left and right, touching pegs, theyre compressing the front forks and timing the rebound to bounce the front end up into a wheelie. it works well if you time it right but its extra spicy especially with any amount of speed!

    @KeViNMCMXXCIX 3 місяці тому

    This actually makes a lot of sense to me. As I mentioned earlier on other videos, I ain't big on wheelies but the little chase outs seem innocent enough. It's like a power wheelie but now you just force it up with the clutch and RPM rising. May go and try it a bit eventually, maybe, idk. 😆 Also the Brazilian Swing looks fun too was curious about that one too so glad you mentioned it here as well.
    And from my technical insights, I do think Jared and/or Gixxer brah are on point with the explanation of why it works the way it does.
    By leaning and so steering the bike, you lighten up the front end. So one side is compressed, when turning the other side gets rebound and when you accelerate the forks extend as well, making it easier to use the rebound to get the bike up.

  • @closedcasketcustoms
    @closedcasketcustoms Місяць тому

    The Brazilian swing is because you're preloading the suspension. Even with low speed clutch ups, I tend to tap the front brake to do the same thing. Catch it on the way up with the clutch and it comes up with minimal added speed. Best thing is learning if you have access to a dirt bike, all the extra suspension and gearing really helps when learning.

    15:58 complete guess here. when you turn you dont ride the center of the tyre, you ride the side of it (more or less depending on the lean angle) and because it's v shaped the sides are of a smaller radius than the radius at the center. same speed but less radius = higher rpm so you dont need to rev as long because rpms go up quicker? idk tho, just a thought

    I have no crash bars wheelie bars no nothing. I learned on my 750. I changed the sprocket and chain. Did one up. I did 3 wheelies no problem didnt hold em. I went for the 4th and i looped it. Flung off the bike rolled a couple times my bike landed on its tires drove off by itself and crashed into a curb which bent my flywheel and broke hella cosmetics.
    Ive fixed it up to its beautiful self, and have done many wheelies since. The priblem is i csnt keep em up i get intimidated. I do all wheelies from second. Best ones are getting on the freeway.
    My question is after all the blah blah is how do you pop em on thw freeway, people oull up next yo me wheb im doing like 70 and they just pop em and tske off??? Can i pop em in 3 or 4th judt release at a way higher RPM. I thinm you can see why i wouldnt wsnt to try THAT out, or are people dropping it down to second then popping up and going?

    Some super cool physics are in play regarding why the Brazilians lean the bike then flick it up. Because the outer circumference is smaller than the middle of the tire you are actually increasing rpm’s without increased throttle. Mike on bikes does a much better explanation on it than I but thought of it after hearing you ask why they do it.

    On my 954, I've only ever done accidental wheelies. No nannies, so it'll loop you instantly. Now I have a mental block because I try to keep the front down all the time.

    Yes do POWER WHEELIES first. Is it a bit dangerous and uncontrolled, yes, but it’s better to learn throttle first in a power wheelie, then slowly learn foot brake by bringing it down wuick, then combine the two and try to do higher wheelied while holding it longer, and boom

    Id recommend skipping first gear and doing wheelies as from 2nd. On 400cc first gear might work but if you try that on higher cc bikes like mt09 or z900 for example, chances are high you will end up on your bike when you try for the first time.

    When you have that rear brake in your muscle memory and are looking for balance point; look at your forks. They should be parallel to the ground.
    I don’t know who I learned this from but it helps a lot when you’re scared of going higher and think you’re gonna loop.

    the Brahzillian Yank Up is 'easier' bec the diameter, radius, circumference -whtev- of the outer edges of your tire are smaller equaling more torque. a smaller tire in the rear would give you the same result until u overcame the tire's friction and it would just burnout. and you'd redline way quicker - lower speed etc. people (and I) get this same effect by changing their sprocket sizes. Love the vids, have fun & stay safe, Bruh.
