It’s a good thing you did your research on insulation. The biggest issue is people don’t realise that it can cause moisture build up in the interior due the temperature of the metal inside and outside, especially in the pockets where it can cause rust because of puddling.
Yeah it's a hot topic on the Facebook groups 😅 and with all the research we did the B&Q recycled bottle plastic is the best option! Defo glad we did it 🙌
@@thebastenjourney I’ve been looking to do a similar build. Using the Caddy Maxi Panel Van but having every built in a module way. So it can all be taken out or rearranged.
@@iMann_iFail sounds exciting man, seen a few people with the removable setups, if you need it as a van space then 100% worth it! We are a VW Caddy Maxi so defo recommend ex-British gas ones as ours is beautiful!!
Ah amazing! So excited for you!! We ordered 32sqft for the walls wheel arches, can’t remember how much of the sound deadening + insulation roll we used for the the floor but can’t ever be too safe! 👍🏼
Hiya, thanks for the comment! We did vapour wrap the back of the wooden covers that go over the insulation, this means if we ever need to get to the wiring behind it, we just have to drill off the door pieces!

Good job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Very clear and useful thanks :) currently looking to buy a Caddy Maxi so I'm sure I'll be revisiting these videos 😊
Ah I'm glad you are enjoying the video! Yus plan to walk through our whole process so you'll defo know what not to do!! 🤣
Look into lizzard skin
Enjoy the build, we had a great time building our motorhome from scrap.
Thank you! Looking forward to the process and also to it being finished 😅
Just wondered how you got the carpet out from under the seats?
luckily ours didn't have any, assume yours may be stuck down?
ребята, шумоизоляцию нужно прокатать, есть много роликов как это делать,
смотрю вас, как и на Фейсбуке
удачи
Thank you for the insight! We will look into this! 😊
Love your videos! Just starting to convert my own ex BG maxi ❤
Can i ask, how many sheets of the kilmat did you actually need?
Thanks! B :)

How come you didn't vapour board the side doors / back doors before carpeting / cladding eg over the sections with insulation in?

Have you got a list of what you used so I can form a shopping list ? X
We are trying to put together an amazon list! But most of the stuff we either got of amazon or B&Q
@@thebastenjourney Ok thanks !!
Just bought the same van and pretty much going o copy your insulation and sound deadening plan !
Ah perfect!!! It's worked so so well, even in -5 in Scotland!!
hiya, how are you removing the wooden covers? i’ve got
the same van and can’t get them off for the life of me
If you mean by wooden covers the black side pieces, we just pulled the plastic screws out with pliers!
Should have looked into lizzard skin
We defo looked into it, we are doing this all ourselves and wasn't confident taking on a job like that 😅
