congratulations guys! You have made a masterpiece! Many young people should take an example from you, instead of playing with their cell phones! Well done!! greetings from Italy👋👋
Well done you two, what an amazing transformation. Looks absolutely astounding. If it was mine I'd add a roof tent with annexe to give a little more space. I wish you both the very best in health and happiness on your adventures together ❤️❤️👍
NOW where are those people telling you it's not worth it!! ..That was so satisfying to watch! Eek! Thanks for showing us all how it's done! 🙏🏻⚡ all that hard work has paid off and whoever buys him will be over the moon and back again xox
Forgive me if I missed it, don't you need some sort of gromit for the holes going through the roof from the solar panel to counter vibration damage? 9:00 Perhaps the cover has them built in, wasn't sure. Great build guys!
@ms No worries at all! I just mean the wires going through the roof underneath the plastic cover, seen at 9:00. As they're currently touching bare metal it seems. Over time, with vibration there is a chance that the coating on the wire could be worn away, causing the metal cable to short when it come into contact with the metal holes in the roof? Probably an unlikely issue but I was advised to put a rubber gromit in any holes drilled through metal with wires going through is all! Take care
Sorry for the newbie question, but when you're drilling into those roof slats, where is the screw going on the other end, into the actual car metal? My primitive non-diy brain is imagining screws coming out the top of the van 🤣
Hello! haha thats fine, we all start somewhere! They are going into the metal cross members of the van, you can use an adhesive and stick them up, we know people who have done this and its been fine, but we prefer to secure them with screws. Definitely not through the roof 😂.
A good method is glueing wood stripes to the metal. This could be done on all surfaces (floor, roof, sides). Polymer adhesives work well for that. Then you have something to screw all other things into. This method is so strong, it even survives a crash.
May have been answered already but what are the dimensions of the bed that you’ve made? As being a bit taller than the average man I have my concerns about how long I can make the bed? Great video though
Can you guys build and fit my u shape sofa/bed in my t5 please? This is a cracking conversion. You are both very skilled. You must get plenty work offers.
Haha thank you so much! Currently we are travelling south east Asia until July, I don’t think we want to be doing anymore van builds, thank you for the offer though 😂 you should give it a crack, UA-cam will guide you, I mean we have a whole playlist on teaching it ✌🏼
Very interesting watch. However I’d have gone with a much lighter colored interior rather than the dark green. It makes the inside area seem so dark and dreary. A lighter green, blue, yellow etc would have gave it a much more open and welcome feel.
That’s cool, you should definitely do that in your campervan 😀 we wanted to go for a more relaxed, cozy and regal finish, darker paints actually make a small space look bigger.

I created some battens which were drilling into the metal of the van, not through the thin skin so the screws obviously dont protrude outside! , then I attach each piece of cladding to the battens :) hope this makes sense, if not drop me a message on Instagram if you need more detail. @hollings19
Hello! sorry for the late reply, it is just spray adhesive :) we had some extra from buying carpet, which came with 4 bottles of spray adhesive, if you google it im sure you will find loads.
Hello! Not in this build we didn’t, as we went for a different style, you could easily do it and it would make it sturdier but we didn’t want to lose any precious headroom, we secured each strip into the corrugated plastic sheet as well as into some metal, if you watch this short, it might make it clearer :) ua-cam.com/users/shortsV-r7zeBI1XY?si=6xuHxjVYGU2e_4Kx
Yeah its pretty stuck, we used sellotape 😂. When you purchase windows they should come with a bonding kit, which has a thick black sealant included, which sticks the window to the van, once it dries, it's not going anywhere :).
Hello! The adhesive normally comes with the carpet you buy, so just check that it actually does, whenever we bought a length, it comes with at least 1 bottle :)
Van conversions are incredibly popular and have been a trend since the iconic VW Kombi. This isn't just a passing fad; it's a lifestyle. Plus, you don't need formal training to build your own van furniture.
It most definitely was a WE, I’m not sure why you think otherwise, there’s plenty of work not seen in a UA-cam video, there’s also jobs which we didn’t film, like the design, don’t diminish someone else’s work because you assume I ( Sam) have done it all, because I am in the video for the most part. Thanks for viewing though 🤟🏼.

this is one of the best small van conversion i seen so far.

Well done you two 😊 The van looks fantastic.

Thank you so much 😊 not quite sure we get the question, so sorry if we’ve answered wrong… we haven’t screwed the solar panel down, it’s just glued 😊

You're right I say the wire will cut and short there eventually 😢
@@MemoD2sorry, get you! We didn’t add gromits, we siliconed the edges before popping the wires in 😊
@@nicroams Ahhh ok gotcha! Yeah thats a smart way of doing it :)

So, basically, it takes about half an hour to convert a small van into a camper? Who'd have guessed! Well done.
Yep, a piece of piss 😂. We’ll be churning out another 100 this year 😄
If you are thinking of being a comedian, don't quit your day job.
Espectacular , a disfrutarla😊
Thank you 🙏🏼
This looks amazing, only thing I'd prefer is a black roof (as in exterior, easily wrap it)
lmao to each their own, seems completely pointless to me, considering there is solar on the roof and a roof rack, so you wont even see it 🤘🏼😂
Lmao seems you totally missed the point as the solar panel would be less noticeable. But yeah each to their own
Nice! Two questions: What kind of adhesive would you recommend for the insulation? And may I ask how expensive the overall interior was?
Good job.Would you please share what size is best for the gasket that is installed on the edge before the window is glued?

Can you use spry foam for insulation instead of that fibreglass type stuff???
You can use spray foam, this was sheeps wool, not fibreglass :).
