Hi Sue! Thank you for your comment, little secret.. the van is DONE! we have 2 videos coming your way.. just got very stressful towards the end so now it's all settled we are prepping them! Thank you for being so patient 🙏 x
We got our awsome electrical dude to fit it! Well worth it, we did opt for proper kitchen lights, just because I'm not a massive fan of the white on RGB strips
Aha thank you!! It's feeling so crazy now, really starting to take shape!! Hopefully fully done by end of July so gunna have loads of adventure videos to follow!!! 😄
Hi! Did your van have an old British Gas battery isolator fitted under the bonnet, and if so did you disconnect it from the starter battery before you installed your split charge relay circuit, or did you just leave the isolator attached and everything worked fine? Thanks!
Hiya, thanks for the question! We disconnected the isolator long before relay circuit was installed as it actually ended up draining our battery (ironically) 😂
Hi, loving your enthusiasm and the look of what you're doing, but am a little concerned about the height of the fridge. Have you considered what would happen to it if you were involved in an accident? Perhaps consider putting half a bulkhead behind the drivers seat? Not wanting to undermine anything you are doing, just want you to be safe!
Hiya! Thank you for the concern, the units are strongly drilled into place, and the fridge has provided holdes to drill into the frame. So I guess the only time something could go wrong is in a major crash but we would have bigger things to worry about 😅 but defo is safety first!!!
@@thebastenjourney I'm glad you have given it some thought. I suppose I was thinking fridge and contents probably weigh 30Kg, and screws into wood might not be strong enough to hold it even at relatively low speed collision. That's why cargo vans have metal bulkheads. I'm sorry to go on, and will stop now, just wanted to make sure you had considered it. Very best wishes to you both and I look forward to seeing your future endeavours.
Ah no its good to hear all advice, the fridge also sits wedged besides the 2 pillars of wood, hard to explain but is slotted in so that if it was to hit the person driving it would have to break the screws and the wood entirely. So it's definitely securely in, if it wasn't screwed in the the only way it could go is out the side doors 😁
just wondering if you took power from the main battery to the inverter via switcher to charge both via alternator? whats the best route for cables if so from that main battery
We do have the electrics hooked up to the main battery which means when we drive we also generate electricity, also means we will never have a flat battery as solar keeps it topped up too! It runs down behind the seats, we did get an electrician to handle this as I didn’t want to be reasonable for it going wrong 😂
You aren’t far away now! Adventure awaits!
Indeed! We're both far to excited to put the tools down and pick up the metaphorical map to adventure 😀
Hey 😊 loving watching your van build and waiting patiently to see how it's going ❤️ hope you guys are good x

@@thebastenjourney That's great news, well done you guys! Looking forward to seeing the videos, thank youu 💖 xx
Did you fit the wifi thingy? We fitted RGB lights and if you choose pale pink and lower the brightness it is very acceptable.

You’re back!! Where’ve you been???? Don’t leave it as long next time 😁😁👍🏼👍🏼
Ahh! Glad someone missed us 😅 we do need to be more on top of the videos!! I promise we'll do better 😁

Who have you found to do the diesel heater! I’m struggling for our blue caddy 😅
Aha, we went directly to the maker.. autoterm, their UK location is in Wales.. literally based on a farm 🤣 but by far the cheapest installer.

What fridge was it that you used?
It’s the Just Kampers JKF50 Fridge-Freezer 12-volt LG Compressor (Black)
