As a prior multiple 911 Turbo owner (991 and 997's) I love them and the ESMotor (AIM Performance in the US) build insanely fast/reliable cars. But that damn Tesla is just a monster, if you worship at the alter of speed as I do. I dont care if its gas, diesel or EV as long as its fast and consistent. Good runs, had hoped the M5 would have faired a bit better but in this company last isnt last.

Other than this location the Plaid is easily good for 9.2 1/4 miles. Carwow loves to run Plaids at 55-60% SOC probably because their guest don’t top off the battery before arriving.
Traction issues. Remember when the stock Turbo S ran the Plaid it was left for dead after 60 mph. This modded Turbo S was only two cars close to the Plaid at the quarter so clearly it’s got more power.
I still wouldn't buy the tesla given the choice of ice cars. But there's no denying it's rapid. I just don't like the interior. Also no denying it's an excellent car otherwise if you like the inside.
Track mode in the Plaid increases top speed to 175mph while the brake package unlocks 200mph. Run the plaid in track mode gor that extra 10mph for the 1/2 mile runs.

I'm not sure where your're located but this track is in England and a cold day will see poor times for all. The RWD cars particularly struggle on this surface.

If you keep everything factual. The S Plaid does not take 1.5 hours to charge, the new super chargers get it done in 20-30 minutes. It has much more trunk space compared to the porsche, costs much less to "fuel" it, it's so quiet under full load you can actually hear things outside your car or the people in your car, doesn't have a voided warranty, and will make many more runs will lower maintenance costs, while being half the price and out performing it. Those 2 petrol heads need a reality check.
That plaid only won cause the cars are modified. Porsche has specifically made the car and adjusted for its respective horsepower. If some chump goes and adds more it destroys the system. A plaid lost to a stock 200hp Mitsubishi Outlander near my home town and I saw it lose that bad.
This just shows how well calibrated the stock 911 Turbos S is, it does the 1/4 in 10.2 consistent with 650hp, where as a 1000hp variant only does 0.2 better

I think if you check Tesla plaid prices right now the starting price for a plaid is just under the price of an M5 stock, not the thousand horsepower version, so still the plaid is the absolute best value for money if you want to race something in a quarter mile

For less than 100k you can have a tuned 1233hp Golf Mk II that does the quarter mile in 8.26 seconds and 0-100kmh (0-92mph) in 1.66 seconds.

Watched the 2nd drag race start in slow-mo...and Mat definitely jumped the start without question. Not saying that would've changed the result, since that Plaid is mighty quick and would've beaten these two anyways, but the result would've been noticeably closer had Mat not jumped.
@@DavidDarrow I watched frame by frame, the car moved before the hands dropped. Even if it's the same frame when he started and the hands moved, means he jumped the start. You are not allowed to anticipate a start. For starts in Olympic disciplines, racing, and co, there are rules in place about what the required reaction time is. Normally its around 200ms. So if you start earlier than 200ms after the signal goes, you jumped the start, bc you anticipated and not reacted. So clearly Matt jumped the start. In the end, it doesn't matter, bc it's all fun here and the tesla would have won regardless.
M5 for me. Interestingly, Mr. Vanos's own 1,000hp M5 Competition did a 9.6 to the ¼ mile just a few weeks ago on the same stretch of tarmac. An absolute weapon for an ICE 4 door sedan.

Other than this location the Plaid is easily good for 9.2 1/4 miles. Carwow loves to run Plaids at 55-60% SOC probably because their guest don’t top off the battery before arriving.

Track mode in the Plaid increases top speed to 175mph while the brake package unlocks 200mph.
Run the plaid in track mode gor that extra 10mph for the 1/2 mile runs.
They didn't use the track mode nor did they charge the car...
They have to try and handicap the Plaid, otherwise it’s a complete embarrassment and will piss off the gas gang.
Get the track pack for the model s to go to 200mph and have better breaks. Then its more fair :D

If you keep everything factual. The S Plaid does not take 1.5 hours to charge, the new super chargers get it done in 20-30 minutes. It has much more trunk space compared to the porsche, costs much less to "fuel" it, it's so quiet under full load you can actually hear things outside your car or the people in your car, doesn't have a voided warranty, and will make many more runs will lower maintenance costs, while being half the price and out performing it. Those 2 petrol heads need a reality check.

That plaid only won cause the cars are modified. Porsche has specifically made the car and adjusted for its respective horsepower. If some chump goes and adds more it destroys the system. A plaid lost to a stock 200hp Mitsubishi Outlander near my home town and I saw it lose that bad.

Thing is, teslas aren't a head turner like bmw porsche mercedes etc.. No one on the street or at a car meet would EVER double take or take a pic of a tesla. The model 3 and model y head lights are so ugly. They look like mall cop cars 😂The model X looks like a mini van. The model s has a decent front end (even though it looks like a worse corvette) but the boxy rear and out dated tail lights ruin the enitre sleek design. All in all no head turning sound and they look dull and boring inside out. Teslas dont look mean or aggresive at all. Thats what makes fast cars cool. They look like basic traffic 😂
Interior wise u get a bulky steering wheel and a single ipad. Lixury sports cars give u a HUD,Carbon fiber around the car, carbon bucket seats or luxury seats,buttons that feel good to click, and sporty steering wheels that are made of high grade material. Teslas dont feel like ur in a luxury car or a luxury sports car. Its just blah. U get a poor mans fast car but sacrifice interior,exterior, and a dope unique engine.

Yet again... the Tesla wins. And it is the cheapest and most practical car here. It is a shame you didn't have the track pack as I would of liked to see the top end performance but oh well. The top end performance would of reduced from all those races by about 50 or so HP to because of battery %.
The tyres are also not road legal.

I think if you check Tesla plaid prices right now the starting price for a plaid is just under the price of an M5 stock, not the thousand horsepower version, so still the plaid is the absolute best value for money if you want to race something in a quarter mile

So still the Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the absolute best value for money production car if you want to race something in a quarter mile.
For less than 100k you can have a tuned 1233hp Golf Mk II that does the quarter mile in 8.26 seconds and 0-100kmh (0-92mph) in 1.66 seconds.

I’ve personally asked other owners at car meets, and multiple mechanics at different dealerships, and they all say repeated launching isn’t what hurts these cars, it’s built for that; the most issues actually come from people who just let them sit in a garage all year and never start them up or drive them. Also, I’m just curious, the Porsche launches just as hard with 1/4 tank of gas, does the Tesla keep launching like that with 1/4 left of battery life?

The Plaid’s acceleration has been discussed to death, but its braking performance was truly truly impressive.

@@NuSuntRaresh As you said, it doesn't normally do 10.1 seconds, on average around 10.3, and the 1000hp car may be suffering from traction issues so I don't think it's pathetic. Certainly disappointing, though. I checked and it's quite close to the 9.9 second time that is what the Ferrari SF90 did against the Plaid and Turbo S.
@@cubozoan9448 Jamie's 900hp turbo s did a 9.7 in the same conditions. The es motor transmission tune might have messed up its launch and speed. I can't imagine a 1000hp 992 turbo s to be this slow. The difference is way too small between this and the stock car.

Watched the 2nd drag race start in slow-mo...and Mat definitely jumped the start without question. Not saying that would've changed the result, since that Plaid is mighty quick and would've beaten these two anyways, but the result would've been noticeably closer had Mat not jumped.

Rule is that as soon as the starter's hands begin to move you're clear to go. If you watch frame by frame it was a legit start. Lucky, but legit
@@DavidDarrow I watched frame by frame, the car moved before the hands dropped. Even if it's the same frame when he started and the hands moved, means he jumped the start. You are not allowed to anticipate a start. For starts in Olympic disciplines, racing, and co, there are rules in place about what the required reaction time is. Normally its around 200ms. So if you start earlier than 200ms after the signal goes, you jumped the start, bc you anticipated and not reacted.
So clearly Matt jumped the start. In the end, it doesn't matter, bc it's all fun here and the tesla would have won regardless.
M5 for me. Interestingly, Mr. Vanos's own 1,000hp M5 Competition did a 9.6 to the ¼ mile just a few weeks ago on the same stretch of tarmac. An absolute weapon for an ICE 4 door sedan.
Barometric pressure can effect ice cars just like it can effect people. So it's not surprising that results vary depending on the day of the test.
