I'll be the first to admit that a majority of mechanics in the trade are crooks but not us all, I always take photos of timing belt/clutch jobs I do where the parts are hidden away and send them to the customer, it ensures my honesty and keeps my integrity intact and basically covers my ass if anything goes pear shaped. That's why all my customers keep coming back to me. I'm not the cheapest guy out there but you pay for my honesty, integrity and my experience.
Good video though Andrew, very in depth and detailed.
Cheap to me is suspicious in garage terms. Always wanted to see the old parts as the customer, which is a tip for most people. Cheers Craig really appreciate the comments from a professional!
Nice to see the progress being made on George. Looking better with each video. Thanks for another great interesting video 😁👍
Cheers buddy, I hope this helps people decide if they want to do it or not :)
Great video bud glad George is performing alot better👍🏻
it's flying now!
Good job! It satisfies me when i see results of perfect knowledge
Thank you! Cheers!
Again great video
cheers :)
Thanks a lot for all the videos that are very helpful.
Can you make one (video) on how to adjust the valve clearance?
My mk1 burns too much oil. I thought maybe it's the valve clearance. Any more ideas what else should I check?
I did 320k km with it. And hope to do a lot more...
Take care
If I can find a car that has very high miles then yes, but otherwise I'd be doing a video on something which pretty much all surviving MK1's don't and will never require.
Good job mate , garage states play in steering rack, ive changed outer tire rods in the past , whats your opinion? I heard you had a problem with the knuckle but i didnt understand it.
no i had no issues with my knuckles tbh! steering rack or it could be the steering coupler, either way its subframe off.
Don't forget the degrees after 60nm
for which bolts?

@@TINq8n 60NM is what the book quotes for both Cam Sprockets on this engine.
What is funny, imagine trying to turn over diesel engine by hand lol. Probably you would need bigger wrench :D
Pop the injectors out and turn it over with your pinky lol
I always turn diesels over with a rachet done thousands
They are really stiff , i'd using a 1/2" ratchet!
