You can also simply add a button with some wires on the 2012 and similar; just check out usp motorsports makes a plug and play setup. Or you can diy a harness as well. Just in case someones checking; theres that option as well
Good morning. I would REALLY like to add this button in order to turn on/off the ESC control. Would you please send a few links showing what to buy, and where + a how to DIY video?
I have a 2012 Jetta tdi Highline. I saw a video similar to this back in the summer. I went out to test it, even tho there was no snow. It appeared to work. Works until the rear wheels move approx 5 or 6 feet. I had forgotten about this, so will try it in the snow tomorrow and let you know for sure. Do you know if pulling a fuse for the abs will also disable the TC, more permanently, and still leave the vehicle drivable? Reason I ask is because when I had the car on the dyno, they had to disable the traction control and I believe they just pulled a fuse or relay or something for the abs. I'll also contact the garage that did the dyno and see what they say. Good tip! Ok, your trick seems to work. A couple of times I couldn't get it to work tho. Not sure what the issue was. Maybe it's the sequence in which you do it, ignition first, then the hazard lights, then pump five time. VS pushing the hazard first, then the ignition, then pump. Which doesn't seem to work. And I also noticed that while the tc light is on steady, and you turn off the hazards, the tc light goes away and you're in tc mode again.
Any suggestions if my traction control is continuously off and I want to turn it back on? No traction control button in my model 2012 Passat.Manual transmission if that makes any difference. Thank you
This worked on my 2015 VW Passat TDI SE. Do you know if there is a method to permanently turn off traction control? I know USP motorsports makes a traction control button kit that you can install but curious to know if there is another way? Thanks.
Right on. As far as I know I'm just familiar with what you've already said. There's a few companies out there that'll sell you a "kit" that needs installation.
I decided to make this video due to getting stuck constantly until reading about this. Hope it helps!

I tried it on my 2013 Passat se and i couldn’t get it to work
I turned mine off permanently got stuck held the pedal to the floor until the TCS gave up and died
My lights still on after shutting car off and starting
its dyno mode
2013 vw jetta s 2.0 this works on it
Live saver. Why would they make it so hard?
I couldn't tell ya. Why they dont just have a button to enable or disable in all VW's like some of them have doesnt make sense to me either.
Didn’t work on 2013 Passat tdi
