Killswitch have some of the slickest riffs.
RanterInShades super fun to play
them and megadeth have the best riffs and rhythms
Rose of Sharyn will forever be one of the greatest riffs of all time.
Ty P yes
Heavy af
One of the first bands that got me into heavier music. Still listen to their old stuff occasionally. Great playing and tone my dude.
Interesting that the band who brought me inyo heavy music is A Day To Remember. Still love them to death. But happens that i jam to slamming brutal death metal and so on :D so good to be into it.
@@Biohazardableful adtr and alexisonfire for me !
Yeah same thing xD i remember listening to metal like for forever (probably started listening when i was around 8-9 but started listening to it majorly around 12) and around when i was 13-14 i started listening to kse and they defintly made me get into metalcore and more heavier stuff like Death metal, deathcore, black, etc.
secondhand serenade got me into heavier music haha
As Daylight Dies will forever be my favorite record. From daylight dies to holy diver it's a complete eargasm (specially Still Beats Your Name)
The As Daylight Dies (Special Edition) is way too good. I cannot use words to describe how I feel when I listen to it
KSE,Gojira,ADTR,In Flames,Korn is what got me into the metal world
For me it started with Five Finger Death Punch, And a while after that Parkway Drive, and now i am listening to bands like Thy Art Is Murder, Carnifex, Shadow Of Intent etc. Parkway Drive and 5FDP are still my number 1 and 2 favorite bands. Number 3 is Thy Art Is Murder number 4 is Carnifex. 😛
ADTR? Get out
@@wes3793 Wait, call me stupid but what is ADTR? 😅
@@Jens_Roadster A Day to Remember. They're pretty wimpy as far as metal goes.
I remember listening to KSE on "Headbangers Ball". Cant believe that its been 15 years..
Sean Headbangers Ball!!! Wow! I had it DVR’d.
@@guitarfreak80ftw the good ole days
In Due Time has my favorite Riff of all time!
Their riffs are still badass
Alive or just breathing is still my favorite album after all these years
On “My Last Serenade” it’s actually played with either a hammer-on from the 1st to the 4th fret, or an index finger slide from the 1st to the 4th, not just a hammer-on to the 4th, other than that, awesome video!
Maybe he simplified it because is not the same tuning than the original
Noice. As I lay dying would be a good one of these. Their first record actually rips. When there was only 4 members. Good work dude.
First record reminds me alot of Zao
I havnt commented for a few years brother but i have to say... your playing is solid like a sledge hammer and precise like a surgical blade. you are a master in you craft. Much respect.
This video really made me appreciate how different the second self-titled album is to the rest... Might have to go give that a proper look after all these years. Just never honestly clicked to me, was still obsessed with As Daylight Dies :P
Killswitch have riffs for days, looking forward to their new album next week 🤘🏾
Whats your opinion on it?
Revenick love it
@@Metal_Mohan I ordered it, cant wait for it to arrive!
Where was Holy Diver
the end of heartache will be forever the “example metalcore” riff and it is amazing for that
Did you also scream EEOOOHHH on fixation on the darkness when it went in...
That pop's out in my head. :)
EEEEOHHH!
Hehe, you corrected it... I feel so proud of my contribution. 😆
@@ChrisS-mk1yr Haha yes thank you. I knew I was missing a vowel lol
No problem, it's etched into my memory from years of listening to the song... that extra vowel makes all the difference, haha. Bring back the "EEEEOHHH" vocals I say, not enough of them nowadays in metal!
So beautiful 😍 love your song choices ❤🔥
Absolutely killed it! Great job. nailed the tone too!
Such a good listen when working out, great job Andrew! 🤘
Amazing as always, dude!!!
Your tone is sick! Sounds good 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Amazing job man! Wow
So clean Adam D would be proud 🔥
Amazing and powerful tone 🤘
Amazing vid as always Andrew. Killswitch is the perfect band to do a riff evolution on
Awesome, me and my buddy used to play Killswitch all the time,he played drums me on guitar, loved playing LOG too....
Strength of Mind, one of my all time favs. Also great job.
I love you for making this video
Fear Factory guitar riff evolution!
Yeaahhhh
Next: Trivium
Please
cool band , cool sound , next bullet for my valentine
Awesome shirt!
yoooooo thank you!!
I'd like to see a Carnifex Guitar Riff Ev., especially after they released a new album.
Nice vids man, love to watch it when i have freetime.
ps. fit for an autopsy would be hilarious also.
Badass tone!
Awesome shirt man. Black Tongue fucking slays.
Killed it!
Evolution of Chimaira guitar riffs please kind sir! They were one of my favourite bands from the 2000s Metalcore era, along with KSE. Great video! 👍
awesome!
This is the band that made me love screamed vocals 🤘
this would be amazing to see for In Flames.
I saw a video of people sitting around covering old In Flames songs and it took two people to cover Jesper's guitars lol
I guess that would be the (d)evolution since their guitars get more simple to play as you get to their newer stuff
my last serenade is such a powerful song
this sounds so damn clean
Fuckin nailed the tones my dude
Your videos are like a peanut butter and nutella sandwich. Great every time
What band do you want to see next? Let me know! Be sure to check out my Patreon linked in the description if you want audio downloads or stems.
Breakdown of Sanity!
Make them suffer
A7x
Horse the band lol
Pim van der Vliet I second that my man, great taste :D
Maybe Meshuggah guitar riff evolution next time?
Contradictions Collapse is my favourite Meshuggah album. That's my unpopular opinion of the day
@Master Exploder that's because you don't like Meshuggah
Yess
nice
Earliest I've ever been to a video ever
Wow your new tone is sooooo much better!! 😏
You mean the same exact tone as all my vids since it's reamped with the Fortin plugins? 😅
Andrew Baena Fight me bich!
bah that second part of Rose of Sharyn
The fucking tone ❤😍 Loved Rose of Sharyn so much
Also you should do a full cover of the arms of sorrow with Johnny or any of their songs
ERRA just dropped a bomb today! Let's see their evolution yo!
my favorite band KSE
This band right here is the one that fully tipped me over the edge to get into metal. I may not listen to them as religiously as before, but every once in a while I still listen to the entirety of "Alive or just breathing" all the way to "Daylight Dies". Good nostalgic shit.
this is entertainment. is this not why you came?!!?!!? 🤘🤙🤘🤙
My boi read my mind thanks
andrew, you play very well If it's about
heavy riffs
Do Haste The Day next!
I still need if Alice in Chains tuned down😍😍
I always have fun playing the riff to My Curse, but In Due Time and Strength of the Mind liked fun too. I'm curious which riff you thought was the most fun to play
Awesome stuff but why only singles? Break The Silence, Reject Yourself, Life To Lifeless
Yeah life to lifeless was a bit stiff great riffs
That tone is the picture for the definition of heavy in a dictionary.
ERRA riff evolution would be cool
Now I'm feeling the need to play Reckoning, but I have to go to work :(
KSE, Slipknot, Early Linkin Park, Tool, RATM, Opeth, Meshuggah, Black Sabbath, Korn, Gojira and Lamb Of God, will always be my Favourites
Fuck yeah
Green! Green Everywhere! I Love Andrews Sense Of Color.
Do as I lay dying please
Do Extol!
Plz do a riff evolution of Lamb Of God, Bleed From Within, Parkway Drive or I Killed The Prom Queen!!
first time i heard them was on the burnout paradise playlist in 2008 or whatever. I was like 6 years old and i knew it was fresh af dog.
The self titled Killswitch Engage album was one of my absolute favorites
Which?
Killswitch Engage 2009 @@Kune00
Humanity last breath tuned down? ;)
They are already tuned down as hell dude
@@Biohazardableful That's the point
@@teolalala1381 New album wasn't impressive also. :(
I feel like that by Alive Or Just Breathing, they had found the needed groove on guitar. While the songs on the first self-titled album were sick, they felt very looped and stiff. Not quite as refined. But that’s normal for many bands. Usually it’s the 2nd album that refines the musical structure.
damnnn This Fire got no love ;-;
think it got enough love with wwe and the millions of views it garnered bud
Bout time
Temple from Within is a banger!
Adam D is a hard guitarist to match because of his love for off temp notes in places where you wouldnt expect one
There should be an instrumental cover of In a Dead World 😁😎🤘❤
Arms of Sorrow is so Djirgasmic, PsheTimelsess.
sorry i havnt followed your work for a while but do you play well with others?
Thank you, I will.
Not trying to be a mlm snob or elitist but I actually like his guitar tone for once.
How about tuned down Black tongue?huh
Great video my friend. Tuning?
D standard and drop C I do believe.
for today needs a riff evolution
death riff evolution
Axe FX 2?????
Sounds more like a tone motionless in white would have
played intro for my last serenade incorrectly
@Eternal Rambler ua-cam.com/video/gVn_MpA0Fro/v-deo.html
He played it wrong. This correction is not invalidated by not having any videos.
Yeah it's a hammer on from fret 1 to 4 not a pull off from 4 to open as he's done here.
However under this amount of distortion and the speed of the track its hard to hear the difference
Still the melodic metalcore kings
dat 2009 album art smh
WHERES THE KEMPER
Did you play this in drop D?
Some songs were in D standard and others in drop C, KSE like to alternate between the two but the majority of their songs are written in drop C.
Chris S no I get that. I’m very familiar with that with kse, it just sounded like some were played in drop D when they should be in drop C.
@@Agape1992 Ah ok, no worries. Which ones did you mean? I thought they all sounded as they should, although the more recent stuff I'm not as familiar with.
Metalcore emo band killswitch engage in like this
McCuggins
Evolution of Judas priest ! Rocka Rollo to the most recent album.
Not really an evolution. Still love them.
