This may have been published by Atlus, but the real heroes who developed it are some of the same people who now staff VanillaWare, like George Kamitani. The same geniuses who brought us Dragon's Crown, Odin Sphere, and Unicorn Overlord.
I was invited to the project and I'm the primary Translator and I am completing the original Translation and keeping the English lines intact, much of what I have looked is finished but could be improved, stay tuned for Uncensored goodness! 😊
Thank you so much for your interest and dedication to this translation. It's currently my most anticipated translation. Playing this game in English without any major drawbacks would be a dream come true for myself and many others. We all really appreciate it.
@@cartoongamermatt9077 That's my hope, that I can stay true to the original work of SamIAm! 😄 I'm working on it currently and making sure the Translation fits well, I am taking my time to ensure it's a quality release and I even convinced eadmaster to wait a bit longer because he wanted to release the game as fast as possible, but since I am more familiar with publishing since I do UA-cam Translations he understood a fast release doesn't exactly mean good reviews.
Wow, that's great news! After Grandia, now another Saturn JRPG gem that is being translated! I'm the proud owner of both games in their original Japanese form (despite PAL/English versions not existing, I just couldn't pass on such highly reviewed games), and I finished both back in the day, of course not without using a GameFAQs playthrough ;) Princess Crown is a really beautiful game with a unique gameplay that is definitely well worth playing, and, just like Grandia, one of my most memorable experiences with RPGs.
I always wanted to play this one because the art style was amazing, but the language barrier had been putting me off all this time. I'm so glad they did this, hopefully they finish it soon!
Remember the first time I ever saw screenshots of Princess Crown in (I think) Gamefan, I knew I needed to have it. Vanillaware has gone on to do many other games in this style but at the time there was truly nothing like it. I played through the Saturn version with limited Japanese knowledge. Excited to play through it again in English more than 25 years later and understand it better.
I played through it a bit this past weekend. It's rough, but I picked up some details I wasn't able to understand in Japanese, like Gradriel's illness.
So happy. This game has so much to offer and the Japanese was unfortunately a big issue for foreigners. I remember back in late 90’s when I gave up because I didn’t know what to do and where to go. This English patch is a dream.❤
I was about to purchase it on my PS5 but I was extremely disappointed to find out that I needed to get what I assume was a digital art collection of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim or something. That’s what my translator app told me.
DO NOT play this patch (yet!) This is an old and critically bugged version. You CANNOT proceed at certain points without loading your save on an untranslated version to clear the flag. I’m hype, I’ve been waiting 20 years. but the real one is real around the corner.
There was a lot of controversy around this translation and some people were even saying the game "is shit" and "isn't worth all the drama". After playing the english patch for 2 hours, I completely disagree. This game has absolutely enamoured me. The beautiful heavily-detailed pixel art style with huge sprites, the addictive and surprisingly in-depth combat system, the promising story, and the unique aspect of playing a 2D action-JRPG has me absolutely fascinated. I can't wait to see a future patch that is more playable. What's here is so promising.

I just wanted to clarify one thing, I am Translating the remaining Japanese lines and keeping the original English Translation intact.

Princess Crown is goated and it deserves so much better!
Those battles look painfully slow.
@@ericmalitzDid i asked for your opinion?
This is fantastic news, awesome stuff!
Amazing! I was waiting for this for so long!!
To the team that translated this. Thank you so much! ❤
That would be SamIAm, I am the Translator finishing up his amazing work 😄

Man I wish someday the PSP version would also be translated.
God bless the fans that did this! 🙏🙏🙏
Thats awesome!
Wow! Sega saturn keeps on Going! Now we need ELDORADO GATE ENGLISH translated
Its version 0.3. The mention of a "Version 0.03" comes from a typo on CDRomance.

Please follow up on this translation patch for mine and everyone's sake. Princess Crown is a game that I have wanted to play for years.

Your English is very good!!! Are you from England?
May the Gods bless all those who work hard to translate the Japanese Saturn games!

They only said that because of the patch.
I set the text speed to fast and the text gets really messed up when characters say a lot/text changes color
Yeah it isn’t a final version.
@@ericmalitz yeah, the github says to report bugs, but idk how to do that so I just shared here
Well well didn't know that playing on the modded ps4.😮😮😮😮
Look at that duck!! 0:42 1:59 5:05
Please, anyone, I need an answer. Is there an english translated version for the psp version of princess crown? I'd rather play it on that.
Nope
A shame it's already been marred by scandal as it's a reuse of the older translation without permission.
Still handy though, fantastic game!
