If you've ever played some of the more famous Vanillaware games, when you see Princess Crown it's eye-opening because that beautiful art you know so well is perfectly translated into sprite form. Just by seeing the art style you know it is Vanilla.
I was invited to the project as the main Translator and I am finishing up remaining Japanese lines in the original script while keeping the English lines intact, I had no idea this would go viral lol Edit: The remaining Japanese lines were finished.

I'm sure lots of people like me that love games from this era wanted to play this and couldn't, not to mention the many young retro gamers that weren't even born at the time of release and will have a chance to play it. @@flink1231 It takes time to make an Uncensored and Accurate Translation for my version because I have to respect the original while eadmaster's version is Censored and didn't take as long because SamIAm did most of the work. My version completely replaces SamIAm's script.
Finally! I've been waiting for this for years. I played the PSP version 2 months ago wishing the game got an English patch. Glad to see that it finally became a reality.
Bought it back in the day and completed it. Didn't understand much Japanese, but I kinda figured out the plot. All because of the incredible visuals. This game really needs a re-release and accurate translation. The cat is a fun addition, it is used for the settings. And the extra books you get when you arrive at certain points in a story is very nice.
I have an Uncensored fork being faithful to the original Japanese language in progress, the patch you see here by eadmaster and remaining Japanese lines finished by me, is Censored.
Even though it's in the early stages, I does my aging heart good to see this taking off. After the PS4 port 4+ years ago, it's unlikely that the game will ever see an official English translation, so this is definitely the next best thing. And the Saturn is an absolute beast on the 2D front, the game was released in late '97 but has aged incredibly well and is still great to look at!
The Saturn translation/hacking community never disappoints, was waiting to play this game in English for years and now finally we can. Someone on Reddit told me the translation script might work on the psp version as well not sure how true that is

Yes, I finished the remaining Japanese lines for eadmaster's version, which is Censored, and now working on my Uncensored version. These include the stories for other characters.
This one is released by eadmaster based on CyberWarriorX+SamIAm project. The original one still in the works😂 (closer to completion?😂). You can wait for it for another decades😂 or forever for the original one. At least we can actually see the patch and play it now.
Samiam and cyberwarrior x shouldn't complain if they have nothing to show for it....conplaining someone released an older translation and patched it into a playable game, while doing nothing themselves....good, I am glad someone took your work and aftually did something...if you guys are offended, release something and STFU

Great game, I beat it once and played it a good few hours again a couple of weeks back. Not a big fan of the whole several characters thing, would have rather just played Gradriel the entire game and maybe give it some more RPG depth. Very pretty game with an interesting enough story and unique battle system.
Princess Crown received an unofficial English translation before Vanillaware ported a single one of their games to PC.
Isn't like publisher is atlus? It's their job just like sony with bloodborne

Technically, what you want isn't a re-release, since that already exists on PSP. What you want is a re-re-release, haha.

What Emulator are you using to play? Yaba Sanshiro keeps crashibg on my with this game unfortunatly.
Use mednafen or its retroarch core (it's called beetle).
We play exclusively on Saturn hardware. All you are seeing is a Saturn going into a RetroTINK 5X into a capture card :).
