Great video! I recently bought Scaler 2 and ReMidi 2 as a bundle and wow… the possibilities are endless. I’m a big theory nerd but these are incredible tools for ideas and inspiration.

Hi 41, how are you doing? I very much like your general concept for music making. The essence is to have input to Scaler from Remidi, use Scaler to strcuture the chords and then use phrase-playing instruments from scaler. It's a really great way to make a huge playable set of instruments and to generate new ideas very quickly. It is also very cool that most of these tools allow for easy recording, or dragging, to the DAW. The main reason it works so well is that it is immediate, or very close to being immediate. In this way you get great feedback from what you are doing and and there is a very dynamic workflow. But, in a another post here I try to explain why I think this works well for orchestral stuff and not so well for other types of music. The main limitation is that there are very few non-orchestral instruments out there that will play phrases from midi triggers provided by scaler. Here is another way I have used that may work for some of you. In essence, you take a drum beat and put it in the DAW, say 16 bars. You structure a chord track in the DAW. Yoi then find a phrase midi, or audio, played, say, on a rhodes, and you translate that phrase in say 8th bar increments across the drum beat. You do this in realtime, by nudging. You will be amazed how different the phrase sounds as it traverses the drum beat. OK, when you find a relationship between the beat and the rhodes phrase that you like the next thing is to get say a bassline and then translate that bassline across the combined sound your drums and your rhodes phrase. Now remeber, all of them will play in key becuase they will all be constrained by the chord track in the DAW...Once you have this you can most likely add your own fills and structure to take the idea where you want to go. I hope this made sense.

Amutimer, great comments and good discussion here. I was also starting to look at remidi as a midi drum sampler as I just hooked it up to storm drum 2. This last week has been a real mind bender as More and More possibilities are coming to light.

Wow, your explanation sounds incredible. Could you please produce a video tutorial in how you use this workflow----this is a whole new way to create trap/pop songs in a new workflow

Your instrument library always impresses me.
I’m just getting started collecting instruments.
Which ones do you think you couldn’t live without?

Hi Ryan, Very good question. The companies I think are making great products and I like the way they do business in general... Scaler, Sonokinetic, Harmonic Subtones, Toontrack, Ample guitars, VSL, Ujam, Sonuscore, ReMidi, Strezov-Sampling and the makers of Divisimate. I would not want be be without the products they make. Can' t go wrong with products from these companies in my humble opinion. I think I should also say that I have never received any free software or compensation in any way from any company. My opinions are based on the experience and joy of using the products. Note that I never mentioned Steinberg, I think cubase is great but I am not a huge fan of Steinberg as I feel they could be doing better and In the past I found it hard to get customer service. That answered more then you asked but I think needed to be said

@@41Fingers woah. Thanks for such a thorough response. I’ve got Scaler, and ReMidi, love them both. Looking into some Funk Soul Productions products from Big Fish Audio. Mostly making jazz/soul inspired hip hop as well as more aggressive boom bap style hip hop.
Love your videos. I feel like your leading a new trend in musical idea generation.
Thanks for the advice & for putting out these videos

Closer to something which I would use. Soon, I'll likely be all over one of these iterations.
Congratulations of your current iteration. And, best wishes on future success.
