Solely on the basis of your endorsement and excellent tutorials was I persuaded to buy this rather complex tool. With your help, I hope to delve deeply onto what looks like the most versatile tool out there. I am glad I joined your Patreon channel as a token of my gratitude, but also to support more videos like this and subsequent ones on RapidComposer 4. You are such a helpful and inspirational resource!
Larry thank you for the support!
I've had RapidComposer for more than a couple of years now. A huge help to learn how to use it has been Blues House channel. His tutorials are the best if you want to make sense out of this beautiful, complex software. I'm glad you came across RC, you'll love it, I'm sure.
I agree he has great tutorials

INCREDIBLE GUIDE! Thank you.
I was about to invest in Scaler 2 but this one is more worth getting since it gives you the same functionalities of Scaler plus tons of other things. Thanks for the heads up !
Great in depth video. I'm an RC fan as you know but it is so versatile once you get into it. RC is so user driven so you can get some amazing results like using the fingerpicking generator for piano or string staccato for short woodwinds etc. The developer is so responsive to fixes and suggestions. I think it is the only compositional aid that I've used to write entire pieces with minimal tweaks in editing! Thanks for sharing this. :)
Hi 41, Thank you for your precious time and efforts helping the communities. As usual, Great Job and Informative video explaining RapidComposer! Looking forwards to your in depth series!
Also, worth bearing in mind that they do a light version (which is what I have) of RapidComposer for a much reduced price, which is a good place to start if you want to play around for longer than the demo version.
Good Point
I have had RapidComposer for several years. An awesome tool and a lot of fun to play with.
Can’t wait to here the results of this resource sonically 🙏🙏🏿
Would have loved to hear the examples that you were showing in the video. Very educational and well explained but hearing what the program generates and how they are manipulated with each element you discuss would be helpful when it comes to deciding whether to make the purchase.
Good point. I would like to show some very good examples in the future. I know the program can create super stuff, just didn't want to half bake it today.
Totally get it. I’ve downloaded the demo version. Just haven’t gotten to spend much(any) time with it yet. There were several places in your video that got me excited to hear what that particular feature sounded like. Love you videos 41. I’ve got the week off so my plans are to play around with rapidcompser and the RTS.
@@tedferrucci I think if your going to create custom RTS multitracks this is the best tool for the job. more on this in the future.
@@41Fingers What Is RTS? I've browsed the web looking for answers but found none, or made mistakes in my queries. Any help is appreciated.
@@fulvioturra7373 RTS realtime sketching system. Its a concept of sequencing midi notes to be played in realtime.
I own this but I haven’t got around to using it, so this was really helpful. Will look forward to future videos of you using this software.
Thanks Mark, Good to have you here!
Would love to see a video of how you export midi from EZKeys or from Scaler into this environment, and then see how you massage things from there.
So I'm guessing this is the full version you got? Thanks a lot for the video.
VERY helpful video. I have used other stuff. THIS is the ONLY one. RAPID is the key word. BUT so effective. I can make a full on track with melody, chords and instrumental in very little time. INVEST IN THIS program. WORTH EVERY penny
I love the features. It needs a major design overhaul though.
Thanks for the tutorial. How do I change the chord name instead of i, iv, v and etc?
Great. Watching now
Interesting a question I have like you I have EZBass and ezdrummer I also am a good keyboard player I often throw a few ideas down and then get stuck as to maybe use the chord progression I played but need some ideas if how to go from there maybe a turn around some alternative patterns or the like that will fit in. Do you think this is the sort of program that might help me here? I quite like complicated advanced chords 9ths 11ths etc but get stuck. As I said like you I use EZBass and ezdrummer I run these inside bitwig DAW which is a bit like Ableton as you can record clips then fire them off with a launchpad that's my normal creative process find a groove and play. Thanks.
Hi Shane, I think if you play some chords into RC it should give you many ideas on how to go from there. Best try the demo or light version 1st to see if It indeed is for you. rapidcomposer.com/
@@41Fingers cheers I look forward to you expanding things over time. So I've subscribed and rung the bell. Thanks
This is an amazing piece of software development beauty, although the user interface makes it quite tough to get over the first hurdles. It seems to have almost everything, but that makes it all the harder to sell I guess. I wish I had a) money to buy it and b) knowledge to get a lot out of it. By the time you created more videos the sale will be over. Maybe another sale next year? Thanks for your hard work!
I hope to get more specific videos on how it sounds before the sale ends. the developer seems to be a very nice guy perhaps he could extend the sale.
You could also check out the light version. I think it has most of the generators. You can always update later for the difference in price.
@@MilanDobrota yes great idea
@@MilanDobrota True, I could. I am usually not a fan of light versions but in this case it could work for the time being.
Quick Question: Does Rapid Composer have any Percussion Generators?
yes it does
Anyone using this with FL Studio? I'm struggling to route it to my own VST's, only being able to open one instance of RapidComposer, linking multiple VST's is different to say Scaler or ChordJam, any help would be greatly appreciated!
you should be able to connect 8 different vst instruments. In RC add a track, set the track property to midi plugin host channel 1. add a second track and set the track also to midi plugin host but now channel 17. add a third track set again to midi plugin host but now channel 33. and so forth. for the inputs of your instrument set them to ... Rapidcomposer midi out 1[1-16]
Rapidcomposer midi out 1[17-32]
Rapidcomposer midi out 1[33-48]
and so forth. at least that is how its working for me in cubase
@@41Fingers Many thanks sir, I will give that a go, looking forward to seeing more from you on this one, it's very deep on first impressions, if you want to know all it can do that is, it will take some time to learn, but looks very interesting, I have all the MIDI generators, but this one passed me by, looks like it could top them all, many thanks again.
This is the second or third time that I've watched this video. I would love to see a video about how to add VST/AU plugins to Rapid Composer (i.e. Spitfire LABS libraries, any Kontakt Library. etc.. I downloaded the manual and as far as I can tell it just tells you that you CAN do this, without any examples.
Jim I show how in my other RC videos. using The orchestra complete and a others.
@@41Fingers I went back to look at the orchestra video and couldn't find anything about adding VST libraries into RC so that they can be accessed by RC from each track. Once I get that in place, it'll be much easier to follow along with any other video tutorial.
@@jimrogers7425 right click on a RC track set the instrument to midi plugin host channel 1. then go to your vst instrument track input and set it to RapidComposer midi out 1-16
@@41Fingers thanks for your input, but I need to go back to the beginning. I don't know where this is in the manual. I don't know if you add plugins in the VSTi setup page under 'SETTINGS' or another place. I tend to learn best by watching, so seeing what pages in the SETTINGS tab, along with how to add them, would work best for me. When you say, "then go to your vst instrument tack input and set it to RapidComposer midi out 1-16... I don't see that. Just got this yesterday and am doing my best to learn this enough to use it with some of my libraries, which will give it a lot more of a payoff as I go deeper with the app.
@@jimrogers7425 Oh You must be using the stand alone version of RC. Then yes you most likely have to scan your vst instruments to let rc know what you have. Can you not scan them? after that they should show in your track options
would you happen to know if this is compatible with Maschine?
The answer depends on how you define „compatible“:
Could you use your Maschine (hardware) as a controller to input notes etc. into Rapid Composer? Sure (when you switch it to MIDI mode first)
Could you use the Maschine software as an instrument / sound generator that is triggered by Rapid Composer? Yes. (Either by using both Maschine and RC in your DAW and route the MIDI accordingly - as shown in this video, or by loading the Maschine 2 software / the VST into a track of RC in stand-alone mode.)
However, if you’re asking for specific / „native“ integration between RC and Maschine (a.k.a. NKS), the answer is no - that doesn’t exist.
@@OneShortMoment thanks
My first exposure to this software. Sadly I will have to go elsewhere to hear something!! All talk and no examples of any feature spoken about. For God's man give us some sounds.
Good video, but lacking examples with audio. One thing is all the things you can do with this, but we really need to hear what those generators create to decide if the program could be useful. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to make this video.
This is a powerful tool, but too complicated as well.
TRUE. Its learning curve is high compared to other programs. But I assure you it's worth it. Also on the RapidComposer page there are many very good videos to learn. It also has a KVR forum in which a community of good musicians and better people, always attentive, helps you with your doubts.
Boring. I will look elsewhere.
