I resigned my CCA position about 6 weeks ago rather than file grievances and disrupt the whole office. Regular carriers were constantly jumping off their worst assignments to take an easier assignment and stick me with their work. They would tell me you have this assignment, take these packages, then when I come back, they switched the assignments and there work is half done. I would now have my whole assignment to do. The constant lies from the PM. I wanted a clerks position and he hired outside wanting to keep me as a carrier. Very disappointing so I choose to except a pse position in a different office. This kind of behavior happens everywhere but, it was extra where I was.
I’m from Brooklyn I accepted a job offer in Queens I’m very nervous but I did UPS seasonal helper before and I will apply what’ve learned with UPS to the post office as a CCA I hope everything works out at the end
Hey Mike, I recently became a regular. I was on a hold down at one office, while on my annual, i was transferred to another office. The Union put on a grievance to have me brought back, but I was awarded Grecian money, but still at the same office which i do not like. The supervisors don’t like me, and they have told coworkers this. I have a walking restriction, and they refuse to put me on a mounted route. The original office i was at, i was an UAR, all the routes are mounted. They assigned me to the longest walking route in the office, and I am completely unhappy here. Any suggestions?
Orientation is rough... I'm two days in. Haven't decided yet if I'm leaving FedEx as a package handler to become a CCA. FedEx I make 16.50 vs CCA 17.29
That is a tough decision since you're already established at FedEx. What I can tell you is that I'm the long run not only will you make more money but your benefits and retirement will be better. Also, keep in mind that if you don't like it in the beginning, since it's a government job it can be a lot easier getting into other government agencies. I can go on about the pros and you had to have applied and went to orientation for a reason so just keep in mind the long run. Congratulations on getting the CCA position, it's going to be rough.

I've been where you are and I've been away from family but my family understood and it's paid off now. I have great medical and dental for my kids and family now, I get paid great, I get paid holidays and vacation. You'll get all of that to in time and you won't regret it. I don't know what you have going on with FedEx, it might be stable for the time and familiar to you but just think about the worst possibility by staying with the Post Office, you're going to work your butt off the first 2 years but you'll at least still get paid. Not to mention you'll still get federal holidays off and you'll still accrue annual leave as a CCA and you'll be able to use it during those 2 years. Think about it hard, either decision I completely understand. The best people to ask would not be anyone in the Post Office, ask other FedEx employees if they had the chance to work for the Post Office would they leave FedEx.
My husband started work as CCA a few months ago. He is barely home so I sent this message on his behalf. Our livelihood depends on him. We read somewhere in NALC agreement that the probation period is 90 calendar days. Does that not apply to CCA? I was wondering because he asked his union steward and he also said 90 calendar days. He is worried because some people told him he was doing good and some people told him he needs to be better. He usually does a full route in 7-8 hours unless he is sent to a different office and unfamiliar area. PM seems to be picking on him and giving him a hard time ever since he made a complaint to the union steward about them shortchanging his (and other CCAs) hour by asking him to write a later start time in the timecard. He is unsure if he should try his best and hopefully make it. Or if he should resign before he gets fired and not able to re-join USPS in the future? We are in dilemma. :( :(

Buying back your military time is definitely a must, after you become career employee I believe you have 90 days to buy it back tax free, after the 90 days it becomes taxed. Your military time will count toward your retirement and you'll also get the annual leave for your time as well.
I’m not sure about specific protocol regarding package delivery. So... for the sake of determining the difference between “unlawful” and “immoral”, I must ask- “Am I required to scan a package as an attempted delivery even when the attempt has not been made?” I feel not only dishonest by carrying out this demand by supervisors, but I feel this is kind of unlawful. Please help.
